Collecting comics is a luxury in this day and age. People are saving money for the rent or for the groceries. Tough times

Thank you for being a seller, and being excited for us buyers on the market trends! My 100,000 comic book collection has become essentially 30% of it's peak value however, I can continue to buy more with good value!
It can be extremely painful right now with the pricing of some books. It can also be great as far as maybe making a good deal. The worst thing is people still trying to hold onto the old prices now. Great video man. Keep killing it.

Agreed, kind of hard to let it go when is worth less than what you paid for or you seen what was going for previously. Good time to buy and hold if you can.
This happened to me just today! I was pricing a book I have coming back soon from CGC that I absolutely knew was with X dollars but when I looked it up--BAM! I thought I'd actually lost my mind. Now I find myself with @$400 in CGC credit and because I need to make the most of it I've been pouring through books to find candidates but what I'm finding instead are prices for graded books running very comparable to CGC books. It's positively crazy. Books down 60, 70, 80%. I'm focusing on my other stuff for reselling right now and getting back to holding the comics for a bit. Fortunately I've always focused on the books I enjoy or feel have merit and also have an enormous back stock inventory of other things but, damn, I feel for you and everyone else who's livelihood is centered on comics. I didn't think stuff would get so low.
That is scary considering how expensive these books were less than a year ago. I never dreamt that I would even have a shot at getting some of these books but after watching this video, I just may one day. On a sidenote, I know you are suggesting looking at auction houses, but I must say with the premiums that they load on top of the price for buyers I’ve never considered, even looking because it just gets too expensive too quickly

You should be looking at 2020 prices to get an idea of what these keys should be selling for. Back then, there were two sales for a Hulk #1 CGC 3.0: one for $8400 and another for $9900. That tells me that the book still has room to drop. If you could get a Hulk #1 CGC 3.0 for about $9000, I think you would be relatively safe. It is mostly a buyer’s market, but there are still books going for decent prices depending on who’s at the auctions.
I love it that it’s a buyers market because I don’t flip. Just wanna buy slabs.
One more thing - everyone really needs to ignore the pandemic peaks. Folks who bought in then? That’s hard, but prices are coming back in line with reality for the serious collectors not speculators. In my opinion. Thank you
yep, exactly how I see things - prices were way out of line a couple years ago and what we see now isn't so much a crash of the market, but a correction that needed to happen. Looking at those charts Bry was showing, you can see the prices on those books settling back down to the "pre-boom" trendline. I don't feel bad picking up bigger books right now at these prices.
Buy low, sell high. Tale as old as time.

I agree with some of the other posters below. It's a buyers' market...sometimes...for some books! Yes, the overall trend still seems to be slightly down, but It seems a lot of areas are bottoming out. Perhaps not so much when you're asking someone to part with twenty thousand dollars.

I am finding great deals and some not so great deals, some shops just really don't want to lower prices to meet the current market, but it is definitely a great time to be a collector.
It is indeed a buyers market. I remember when Uncanny X-Men #282 (1st app Bishop) was a popular and sought after book. I just picked up a high grade raw copy for $5.00 and Wolverine "Origin" #1 for .99 cents on eBay. It's a good time to buy for sure, but if you're buying on spec and not for love of the genre, you might see further price reductions. Best to all.
I’ve been burnt on prices I paid for books 6 months ago I can’t imagine the torched folks who paid 2021-2022 prices on mega grails

I would also say that there are probably many blue chip sales way lower that is not recorded. So definitely a time to buy now.

Prices are ALL OVER THE PLACE! I see prices that are reasonable more than not but every now and then I see some books that are WAY above FMV.
When times are low I pick up what I can, otherwise hold onto stock and now I can say “press your heart out”

LCS Mom and Pop stores are just trying to make it out there, I agree this market certainly favors buyers.
I had to condense my comics down to just a few characters to pay bills. It's hard seeing books now that I want.

This kills me as an owner of an ASM 129 CGC 9.8 W-OW , that its less than half what it was , fortunately I only paid $3000 for mine but still , that hurts.

Great Video. I kept telling people to just watch the auctions with some popcorn and disable buy. Those who listened are having fun buying for their collection now, the rest are angry at themselves. Going to Heroes Con in a few weeks.

CGC need to work out a way to mark graded comic books in a non evasive way in order to stop re-slabbing and attempted comparative grading. If not, the market is dead!

I need the ASM 129 but the 9.8 is still too rich for my blood.
Keys finally mosyly falling to close to 2019 prices. I was hit with only one overpay for a ASM 50 3.5 2 years ago and now I could buy a 5.0 maybe 6.0 for the same money. I am lucky that this was for my PC and can hold it.
Where can I buy raw comics? I find shops and marketplace charging 60for something that is 5
how can someone have desirable comic books and then decide ... hey ... i am going to try and sell these comics ... but i am not going to check any current pricing services ... yeah ... that is a great idea
The US economy will continue to go down but next year looks bad, very bad. This down comic market sadly will drop with it.

yeah, I've fallen victim to price memory a couple times, and funny enough it was on your Whatnot streams and both times were Spider-Gwen related 🙂 I'm not selling anyway, but could have been more disclipined.

Well, it’s hard to say if it’s a buyers market or not. Amazing Spider-Man 14 9.6 recently sold for $50,000 on Comic Link the first appearance of the green goblin. The fair market value is $35,000. I think that’s the highest price for that grade.. anyway literally you will never ever ever get a great deal on amazing fantasy 15 believe me unless the guy is on drugs that is selling the book..
