  • We are installing Polaris Factory Accessories Heated Hand Warmers (Part No. 2877363) on a 2016 Sportsman 570. This is a pretty universal product, it would most likely work with your machine. It's a fairly easy install, we did it in about ten minutes with a Phillips head screwdriver, torx bit and a knife right before a trail ride.

    I just installed the grips and thumb warmer on my 2016 450HO. I also had issues with the heating pads not sticking to the bars so I carefully used a heat gun to warm the pads which made the adhesive stick perfectly. No need for the tape. Also used compressed air to remove the grips so I could reuse them. First time I tried the air and it worked great! Thanks for doing the video!

      How did you do it? Did you use the air hose in the hole on the end?

    • @eastbayview6566
      @eastbayview6566 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I used a tapered tip which fit in the end of one grip. Then while giving short bursts of air the grip would puff out enough to twist and pull the grip off. When doing the other side it was a bit harder as I had to seal the bar end with my while blowing air in the other end. Hard to explain but it worked really well. I put them back on the same way with no grip glue. They don't move at all. Hope this helps a bit.@@chevybeaglenox2402

    Don’t know about this.. what does a set of hand warmers draw??? Mine draw around 2.5-3amps. That orange/white wire is only rated for 1amp. Draw.

    • @jpaul1030
      @jpaul1030  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can put 15 amps on an 18 guage wire as long as its under 2.4 feet. You can also put 5 amps on an 18 guage wire as long as the wire is under 7.3 feet.
      If you have an issue with that take it up with the engineers at Polaris, they are the ones that call for you to power these grip warmers with that orange striped wire.

      @@jpaul1030 just wondering why they stamped 1amp on the back of the plug. Maybe I misread it.

    Good tutorial! But electrical tape is not efficient for sealing away warer, dirt and debris.

    Hey question, when connecting to keyed power, I can't find any more points to connect to because I have a lot of electronics hooked up to them already, however I'm adding a few more. Can I just splice into the orange and white wire??

    • @jpaul1030
      @jpaul1030  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I had to do the same thing to install the magnetic winch stop because there wasnt enough wire in the package. Just make sure you use and crimp your Sta-kon terminals very well.

      Jordan Paul oh yeah that winch stop I actually just installed yesterday. Love that thing and it's damn near impossible to plow snow without that. On my last quad I didn't have one (at first) and I ripped the rope so many damn times lol. All it's takes is a second or two and if u don't let go, goodbye rope. But I put that on my last quad and now this one. Love it. I just got a 2017 Touring 1000XP in black. Love it man. I will be sure to post a vid soon once I get everything else on it

    • @MattProfa
      @MattProfa 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have them on my 570 and I run them on high till they get hot then usually have to turn them down. The take 2 or 3 mins to really warm up.

    what did you use for new grips?

    • @jpaul1030
      @jpaul1030  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ROBERT LADD They are Torc1 brand grips:
      www.shop.torc1racing.com/Enduro-Grips-MX-Enduro-Grips-MX.htm
      They are a huge step above stock and they match the machine nicely.
      I prefer ODI grips myself but any grip made for a 7/8" handle bar will work on a Sportsman and most likely any other quad out there as well.

    should have been lots of glue with the kit, too much was used on the first grip, otherwise thanks.

    What glue did you use instead of the stuff that came with the kit
