    I have one doubt.
    How to whitelist the Akamai Ip address because there is large set of Ip address which cannot be done.
    What is web dispatcher.

    • @DumbTutorials
      @DumbTutorials  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can have "Site Shield" enabled by them and then you will get a finite set of CIDR blocks of their servers which will connect with your origin server. It would be easier to whitelist them. In case there is an addition to the list, they will notify you and only when you acknowledge it, the new IP will be added to the pool.

    Hello sir, I've used azure cdn from Akamai and from Verizon as well....I'm accessing the endpoints from india but then also cdn is serving from a default location of US.... why it is so....i think it should serve from indian edge server

    • @deepmoon3439
      @deepmoon3439 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its because of HTTP Cache Control Settings. Watch the The unofficial Akamai video series Video 1, 2 & 3.

      CDNs, like AK, Cflare, may not always deliver from you nearest location. You may get mapped to a server to remote location as well based on how CDN wants to deliver your content. It also depends if the CDN customer is paying only to deliver from a certain region and not globally.

    • @vijuvlogs
      @vijuvlogs 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      By any chance, does it do a latency test to different servers. I am checking to see if the algorithm is designed in a way to check a few parameters before deciding the edge server?
      Thank you in advance 😊

    • @ratnadeepnandi3293
      @ratnadeepnandi3293 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vijuvlogs I guess CDN uses Anycast like DNS so by that it should get the nearest Edge servers depending upon the RTT/ Latency

    • @vijuvlogs
      @vijuvlogs 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Adding to Ratnadeep and also my initial assumption, in Akamai at least this is how it works:
      There will be something called as a maprule in Akamai CDN which is used for the best edge server calculation and it does consider RTT/latency and few other parameters to score the servers and the score is updated on a minute basis for pinpoints and overall score for 1 hour and this is how the best edge server is decided.
      It also depends on what kind of traffic you are trying to access. Based on that, you may be served content from netstorage which may be the result of getting the US server. Also, it could be FreeFlow network or ESSL network. This is also part of the mapping based on customer CP code.

    Sir how can we know which cdn endpoint and from which location it is serving the request

    • @DumbTutorials
      @DumbTutorials  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can run dig or nslookup to see what IP you are getting mapped to. Then you can run ip to location sites search to get the info. Sometime, even response header will have details in "Server" header
