I’ve been off social media, so I was late to discover Bilal dropped, let alone this video. But man now that I’ve heard it, I love it! I’m so glad to hear Bilal experiment with DnB-esque sounds. Ppl don’t understand, Bilal STAYS ahead of his time with his sound. Like it took me 4 years to not only appreciate but freaking LOVE Airtights Revenge *in its entirety*, and for whatever completely unknown reason, 2 years to relisten to A Love Surreal and realize it’s my favorite Bilal album. He loves to experiment to keep the energy fresh, and it drives me nuts that ppl stay stuck on 1st Born Second and can’t see the gems in all his independent work. I don’t know what tf us fans gotta do to get ppl to realize how talented this man is. - I’ve never seen a concert or TV performance where his voice went flat or his voice cracked…and with the fact that he has wide vocal range and style, that SAYS A LOT - he flawlessly glides into many different genres while being completely himself - he has mastered his falsetto, chest voice, lower notes, and can sing with any timbre - he KILLLLLLLLLLLS tributes. Look em up. Prince, Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye, David Bowie, John Lennon. It’s INSANE how good he does them WHILE keeping his own unique flair. - he’s not out here trying to be an industry weirdo and drink blood and be on every scene…he treasures good art, and knows his work’s worth, period. I swear I might copy and paste this everywhere lol. I want this man to get back all he’s lost to this industry and others. He definitely deserves that. Until then, BUY his album and support artist merch in general.
