I purchased one directly from the US (as Dave Casler recommended it for his reference station) and shipped it to the UK. I changed the jumper for 240v as instructed, plugged it into the 240 volt mains and there was a pop and the meter needle shot up and then died away. I contacted Samlex who sent me through the wiring diagram and all looked fine, but I also contacted Samlex Europe but they said that they couldn't help as they didn't sell that model. It went on the shelf during Covid until I gave it to a local repair shop who sorted it out. It works fine now. I do like the unit and it works well (I give it five stars), but I would caution anyone who is thinking of using one in the UK/EU to maybe locate a repair shop first.
Luckily I have a couple of other power supplies, so it wasn't too much of a problem Rich. As I say, now it is fixed it worked really well on a recent holiday trip powering my IC-705 quietly. One other point, due to the amount of time between buying it and using it, I had forgotten what the connectors that came with it were for and they were in the "bits without a home" box. The have been reunited. Finally, I have to thank you for recommending the DXTreme EFLW aerial that you praised in an earlier video. After seeing your review I purchased one (early in 2020) and I am just about to complete 5 band DXCC with it. Thanks Rich.

@@stirlingpark6145 Stirling, I am glad you found your connectors and I am happy the DXTreme worked well for you! Thank you for watching my videos!!!
I have the same power supply running my Yaesu FT450D, works just fine.
I have had it for a couple of years, and It's still working fine.
Do you have to ground this power supply? I know there is no ground lug on it. Just curious if you do?
Hello W5AKC, No, I do not ground it. Seems like I ground everything else including my computer :)
Roger that! I know it has a safety feature which is supposed to shut it off for protection. Thanks for the response!
@@W5AKC Good DXing!!
