      Thanks so much! I love St Maarten as well. I’ve been going since I was very young and it truly is my favorite island in the Caribbean. I look forward to going back soon!

    Love my 150 Montauk. I have a couple videos on my page running it in the Pacific Ocean, SF Bay, California Delta and Lakes.

    Excellent video Carson. I am new to Boston Whalers and I currently own a 2018 150 montauk. I live in an area where the water can get shallow at times. (Maybe 12-18 inches)
    Do you think if I install a jack plate along with a cavitation plate this would help me get out of those shallow spots?

    Wonderful. What’s the ride experience between the montauk 17 1980s vs 2021

    I have one, had the bow rail split, anchor retrieval is great now. teak treads were added. Not having the live well looks like it benefits for more deck space. I wont remove mine despite it gets used for ropes and mackerel lures etc. Merc mobile vessel view bluetooth is plug and play, a must and hours run shows how little mine gets use. But thanks to your content I can get a whaler fix when needed. 👍

      Hey! Thanks so much for your kind comment. And I absolutely agree with your analysis. Love the vessel view, it truly helps! Consider subscribing for more Whaler content. Love making videos like this!

      Thanks Carson. I put on less than 23 running hours a year for just two weeks a year, nuts yes, but i am in my fav place in the world. Behind the wheel of my Whaler. To me my 150 has hopes to be a 170 when it grows up😊 But the pluses of a 150 using a tidal estuary and the draft my 150 fully loaded has vs lots of 170’s up to beasts of 210 Montauk’s around us. And who’s bigger draft mean they need more water or have to be going home sooner.
      Cheers

      @@willlowbridge350 I hear you there. These 150 montauks are really just incredible boats! I’ve had quite a few of them over the years, but the 2018 that I featured in the video is my newest. The low draft, coupled with the ease of use certainly does differentiate among them 19 and 21 foot Montauks. Thank you again for your support of the channel.

    Hey Carson.......We were chating about the performance numbers I was seeng in my 2016 150 SS with a 60 h.p Command Thrust Merc. With just me and a full fuel tank, the best showing was 28-2 mph at 6100 rpm. Are you sure your GPS isn't reading your speed in KMH instead of MPH? RPMs are 6100 ar full throttle

    • @WhalerNation
      @WhalerNation  ปีที่แล้ว

      How was your trim? Did you have a stainless prop? Which holes is your engine mounted to? Is it too high or too low? How were conditions? These are all the questions I’d ask. :)

    • @RR-pw5nb
      @RR-pw5nb ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WhalerNation Trimmed up till the bow wasn't bobbing up and down. Aluminum 3 blade prop. Water was 6 inch chop. Ill take a look at the mounting holes. The prop it came with is a 4 blade and it had cavitation markes on all 4 blades in the same spots. Metal was actually burned off of the blades in the same spot on all 4 blades. I was going to ask the Whaler dealer here about it, but when I went in to the service dept, they didn't say a word. just looked at me with a look that said 'WHAT do YOU want?" I'll check back with you on the motor mounting holes. I have pics of it on my cell phone if you can think of a way I can send them while maintaining you r privacy.

      @WhalerNation  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RR-pw5nb no need to send a pictures, it sounds like you did a lot of things right. The aluminum prop definitely has an affect. And yes, definitely look into the mounting location of the engine.

    Why the 150 vs the 170 ? just curious ?

    • @WhalerNation
      @WhalerNation  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ZoneTelevision both are great Boats! The 150 is just smaller, less horsepower, and handles slightly worse than the 170. The difference is really small. I like both boats, but for many people, it comes down to pricing.

      Haha I’m happy you liked the content, but judging by your username, it’s no wonder the music wasn’t to your liking 😅 if you check out my other content, you’ll find lots more rock and roll background music surrounding Boston Whalers.
