There was no chemistry and barely any communication between the 3 of them. Between that and the lead combat dev not understanding combat couldn't have been worse
First, yes, we should try to stay positive and offer constructive criticism. Second, we should not overlook the truth in order to shield someone’s feelings. In what other industry would it be ok for a senior manager to lack basic information about his job? The guy who leads the combat team didn’t know how to heavy-attack. That is crazy and needs to be addressed.
It's funny, but I actually preferred the old battle grounds maps and 3 teams. Does anyone else agree? Why can't we have the old maps and the new ones? The new maps feel too tight.
I understand you just made the stream team. First of all, congratulations. So far, I'm only halfway through the video, and most of this is just telling people how to give feedback. I find that odd. I agree some comments in the live stream was over the top....but most that got deleted WAS NOT. Some of it was well said and fair criticism given what was being shown. Let's be honest, this comes off as damage control. I've seen you comment on other videos...you know the devs skill wasn't a issue, it was his obvious lack of game knowledge...it didn't need to be a "Perfect" performance, but he showed a frightening lack of knowledge for someone in his position. You know that, you've seen the feedback. The lead dev didn't know what Rush of Agony was. He said there's no leash skill.(silver bolt morph) He didn't know how to restore resources while complaining his skills weren't going off. And just from a technical issue, the queues were busted. All in all, it was a horrific showing. I understand you now have more of a stake than ever to try to spin this in a more positive light, but you cannot. This showed exactly why people are concerned about the direction of combat, and the direction of changes made. It was a dumpster fire. No way to make that positive.
I address it a bit later in the video but I’ll mention it here - they plan to do more of these. I think putting on display can only be a positive. Even if you see this one as a negative think about how front and center there are now with certain things like rush of agony, heal stacking etc because its front and center theirs more emphasis to tweak and change things
Well, since the tank/heal bot meta has been a pain point for players for years, and he proudly said repeatedly how he was playing that build to specifically "be annoying to players" I have to respectfully disagree. It's been spoke about to death. It's seemed the team has long been out of touch, and this live stream just furthered that point of view.
@@irishsage2459 cross healing has been a pain, but also pvp put eso in twitch’s top 25 - not through just their live stream but because so many streamers were streaming. Thats a huge incentive to make pvp a focal point going forward
@@Official_JakeClips Every PvP player would love to believe that, I'm absolutely sure. However, never been a strong suite of ZoS. This is a case of needed to see before believing. Because we've already seen the other side for years. If what you are saying turns out to be true, I'll be the first to give you my apologies. But trust is gone, and this did nothing to help that. Just facts. You've seen other videos, you know the community sentiment.
@ the best thing too is keep in mind, pve, housing etc didn’t get as many views as pvp did. I was apart of some conversations around rewards, how to get more people interested etc and I want to keep pushing everything forward more live streams, more PvP hype, more stream rewards etc
I think React had it right in his reply on that forum thread the devs have also commented on. It's kind of crazy that the lead pvp designer directly represented many of the things that players have been unhappy with, and his clear lack of understanding on some fundamental things were legitimately embarrassing to see.
Mate if the chief technical manager of the transmission department of an automotive company shows on live broadcast that he doesn’t know how to reverse a car, I would be very skeptical about buying their car. I wouldn’t excuse this person just because he was on live stream and may have forgotten how to reverse. He doesn’t have to be a racer for it.
Brian Wheelchair is beyond anything : The build -> Absolutely horrible and outdated The Skills -> Also almost close to 0 knowledge of correct skills/utility (no use of scribing that i remember) Pvp knowledge -> Just roaming around dying in less than 3 min after respawn Stream -> 0 commentary or synergy with others to make plays happen Skin -> BRUH lets not even talk about the basic 10yo daedric armor just tinted in red -20/20 And that's HIS MAIN JOB FOR 365 DAYS OF THE YEARS FOR PAST 10 years, there's nothing to save, there's NO excuses.
Brian 'I suck at my job' Wheelchair, Brian 'I don't know how to heavy attack to get stam back and stop dying' is part of the second combat team, the first team that actually develop and made the gem eso combat is got sacked like 4 years in.
PvP in ESO is a rotting corpse thats being a topic of fruitless dicussions for years now.🤢 PvP in ESO is like "irrelevant sidequest" which will never be properly updated. New Battlegrounds system is an utter disgrace.
Dear @JTKGAMING14 Zenimax: Sorry it is really hard to hear you @JTKGAMING14, we have plugged our ears with two billion dollars. If you have any concerns about PvP combat, you can ask our well trained "Lead Combat Designer" about it. Or simply watch our latest Bethesda stream to learn more about PvP and NEW Battlegrounds system 😂😂 Safe Travels Out There!
years Jake, I've been playing since console launch, I probably started getting good after 3 years of being complete trash, it's been almost 10 years and I only have really good skills with stamden, stamplar and I used to be really good at stamblade but the new patch wrecked my play style so I'm trying to adapt. It's been 10 years and I'm only good with 2 out off 14 options, 15 if you count werewolf as a class. The devs betrayed long term players just to pander to new casuals that aren't going to stay or spend as much. I paid eso plus for 8 years, have all dlc's and expansions and bought so much crowns that I have 8 radiant apex mounts and I'm not putting one cent more.
the part about criticism is that even when it's constructive Zos doesn't listen, even if it's from a long time player who understands the live game better than their combat team
There was actually a big fuss a while back the real Godzilla. If I remember correctly was the one who uploaded a video about it. But zenemax was deleting genuine criticism and questions regarding various states of the game in terms of bugs and combat issues. This was about 3 years ago I think now, maybe 4 So it doesn't matter how polite articulate and constructive. Your criticism is they will delete it if it goes against the grain. It's that grain being bad mouthing. The game in any form
Hey there, big fan of ESO and mainly play PVP. If you watched any portion of the live stream this Brian Wheeler guy pulled off the biggest PR fumble. The guy demostraited he has little to no knowledge regarding PVP, or the combat system in general. Edit: I would like to add that I would be willing to volunteer my time documented suggestions, ideas, notes, guidance, feedback, all free of charge. Don't even thank me when its done. I have really good ideas on how to totally revamp how gearing currently works and how combat should work. And im certain that with my input I can help ESO become what it should be. Most of the infustructer is already in the game to make these changes, I'm certain my ideas and suggestions would bring back excitement. The team who can make these changes just needs the appropriate guidance.
There is a movie Ford vs Ferrari. And there is a scene there, where professional racer takes Mr Ford on a "ride" on a new sport's car. Ford peed in his pants and cried. Do you get the parallel between Ford and Wheeler?
I’ll be going into more detail on the live stream tonight after work. The video was initially 34 minutes long so I trimmed it down so it was more focused with the assumption I’ll discuss it later on a live stream
Oh it wasn't that bad isn't it? It's not like he will lose his job or anything..right? jk Playing a Plar "healbot" spec, as clueless as he did played is worth a promotion😆
This reminds me of a situation in apex legends a few years ago. The guy in charge of balancing was near completely clueless and downright bad at the game and got a lot of backlash for always making the worst decisions imaginable that where really out of touch with the actual game (he eventually got fired but not because of that). Its not even about skill but if the person responsible for a certain aspect of the game doesn't even have a basic understanding of that aspect, like how heavy attack works, then I think this is rightfully concerning.
Some quick notes! For people with long comments we can discuss them tomorrow as well on stream! Second thing is be careful with using full names in YT comments as that may cause TH-cam to auto delete your comment or hide it! Thanks everyone
As someone who had social workers change their life, thank you. I wasn't a kid but it doesn't matter. Yall go through so much hell to help make the world a better place. Mad respect on your career and still handling all this eso stuff. You're a dude who can't be lazy. You're a busy dude
Didn't watch this. Feedback i've had from BGs is that on the 4v4, as soon as people start to die the other team just bales as there's not point in staying to watch 4 guys chase your last remaining player. The three deaths and you're out idea is stupid and is one of the main reasons I don't bother with it. If they implement a similar idea in Cyrodiil that will be the end of PvP in this game.
dude, jake.. the new system is ass. They didn't need to fix something that worked perfectly fine. They just needed to add new maps and a battle royal. Stop trying to fix a burnt overly salted turkey. The devs don't know how to cook.
Not to be rude, but stream showed how bad update was😂. Instead of complaing of all the bad here are my solutions. Reduce heals based on having larger group/ more players being healed. Not sure how but also reduce damage based on being tanky, doesnt seem balanced like years ago Imperial sewers: how much time did they spend changing rewards?..... when they could have matched tev lar drops in lower city to upper city boss's. Then give molag ball monthly crazy cool rewards/motif/pet/skin. This will revitalize sewers. NOT CHANGING KEY CURRENCY, like i said those reward changes prolly took forever. Cyrodill: remove 75-80 people from servers, remove 2 keeps for each faction. Push remaining keeps closer together and move bases up. . Battlegrounds revert all changes. Keep new maps/ add third spawn.
Agrees with nearly all. Yet, for the love of all things holy, no 3 teams again. I have been in so many matches, NA and EU pc, that ended up 4v4v1, or 8v1, last year or so. 😅 plus no rewards for the third place team.
Dear @DrewTheWolfe22 Remember that you are trying to convince a company that made "$2bn "billion dollars" since game launched already. They don't need to update PvP to make even more. Players who fight daily should know this by now and just let it go. All they need, is to promote the game as "colorfull" "easy" "no-brainer" PvE, which is similar to morrowind, oblivion and skyrim, that's that. Just look how they 'really' promote the game. Before You PvP! Read this: This game is not about PvP and never really was. Game developer have abandoned this business model long before launching of "One Tamriel". ESO its a PvE game, that is all about dungeons & dragons. Three focus points below: PvP stayed in ESO as addition to the game heavy focused on PvE. PvP is an irrelevant objective. PvP in ESO is a rotting corpse thats being a topic of fruitless dicussions for years now. This is the only and ultimate truth😯
Eso doesn't seem willing to communicate with the pvp community, deleting messages and "apparently " the key pvp guy looking "bad" on stream won't help.
As someone who also worked at Kmart and has been with Walmart for 20 years, I feel ya about the customer analogy. I don't know if I have it in me to be a case worker, but I think it's interesting that customer service has overlapping skill sets. I also like what you said about having goals that are "aligned" so I always agree with upset customers when they complain. They usually realize that I'm not the problem and I'm there to help and it gets a little better to deal with.
Jake, Firstly, big love for the videos I've learnt a lot from your videos. I have found that many of 4 v 4 end up being hugely one sided, or a Tank camping the flag in domination. Would you consider a video for strategies within the actual PVP games from an experienced player perspective. Cheers
Jake, it was a lot of fun getting to play with you being a sub in! and spend the day talking BGs and PvP. Thanks for always putting out amazing content and being an awesome dude! -KiltedCelt91
I hate what they have done to death matches in the 4 vs 4 BG. The whole running out of lives thing & cant respawn unless someone revives you. Who did they ever think that there would be time for any player to stop fighting/defending themselves abd revive another player? There is no time at all to do this and anyone who attemps it is a sitting duck and will be focused on by enemy team & killed. When a team is down to 3 vs 4, for the most part thats it & they might aswell just quit. Then theres the major issue where if you do run out of lives, there is nothing you can do exect spectate but you quickly get a message saying you'll be kicked for inactivity which then dies happen even though you where moving the camera around. You then end up with no reward at all & a 15 minute "deserter" penalty before you can queue for another match. There also the issue where if dont spawn in with a full team, it makes you wait 5 mins then boots you if another player doesnt join to fill the team. Its a fucking disaster.
The actual stream was embarrassing for many reasons. But from a playing perspective, I definitely think 8 vs 8 is more enjoyable than 3 teams of 4 going at it BUT it’s not a night and day improvement. I’m still waiting forever still for a queue. Every game despite game mode turns into Deathmatch again. I am still frustrated with Zos why they didn’t put resources into reworking Cyrodiil first. It’s literally pop locked every single week! Cyrodiil will always be the best way to play PvP in ESO.
I think the combat dev showing how little he knows about sets and combat is a bad look, Mara and Troll King have not been good in a LONG time. And has he ever heard of light and heavy attacks ? I dont expect him to be a top tier PvP'er but at least know the fundamentals of combat AND the way they nerf sets left and right. To have no awareness of the garbage gear he wore is a very bad look behind the curtain. He would have been much better with a couple of crafted sets.
I much prefer the two team setup. Three team was neat but you'd constantly be in a 2v1 group scenario because the enemy losing team would just be trying to drop you further so they can get second place. Mad annoying
We dont need him to be The Gessner. Or React faster, or adam lad. We dont need him to be the best. No one said that, so gor zos to even mention that is wild obfuscation. That being said, those sets, getting rid of his cc, not heavy attacking. These are huge fundamental issues for a lead combat designer. Forget being a great player, he cant play. Straight up. He doesnt understand his own game. Thats a HUGE issue! Anyone saying otherwise is lying. And then their response was garbage. You dont get to have a total failure of a showing, delete all constructive criticism and then after make a post saying we were being too harsh and he cant be the best player ever. Absolute spit in the face from them.
Glad they included console, since it so often gets ignored. I guess my take away is my assumptions about the developers lack of knowledge about the game were made obvious. I think perhaps some of the experienced players could explain how to actually play the game to them and how things actually work. Also fixing some issues reported prior to the stream would have helped things go more smoothly. Also it's a proven fact that people quickly stop watching streams without a significant amount of conversation, silences kill a stream. I just expected more polish with the stream from a very wealthy company and I expected the game developers to have much more knowledge of an important aspect of their job.
Im still confused. Was it just too much data to have an add-on instead of a replacement? Seems pointless. Removing the previous format made no sense unless it has to do with storage issues.
I guess I just pictured them having a separate ranking category for the newly added pvp content. I'm relatively new to pvp, so I suppose I do have a different take than the vet pvpers.
As a casual pvp player at best I was very excited when the revamped BGs went live. After the initial Oo and ahh it fell flat because the queue takes too long 8v8 casual and when you get in there is another wait and if it doesn't fill you get kicked. I believe they are on the right track, but there can be major improvements. My two suggestions would be to make it 6v6 during non event times and scrap the flag concept completely. It would be much better if you had 2 teams of 6-8 fighting for 1 keep that's guarded by NPCs. I notice a big problem is the Cryo people (many I talk to) don't like the Bg's because it's one dimensional and nothing to take or really defend. Adding a keep/resources etc to the Bg's might bring over players that don't participate in the battle grounds .. ty for the post
If you call that "the right track" It is clear to me you don't know what you are talking about. The whole 'new' BG system design is as clueless as their lead combat designer.
@DrizztRPG nothing is perfect the 1st go. If you're expecting perfection as the 1st change you obviously don't know ESO. Prime example after the disaster patch 35 (I think) Zos stopped doing crazy armor changes due to people burning out/leaving the game. We are now in patch 44, have people not been burnt out over major gear overhauls. Again it's a step.. easier to live in reality and appreciate the process
@@billgrod764 I understand what you mean, and I don't expect 'perfection' by any means, what I expect is this: I expect full professionalism from a man who is responsible for combat design and leading the combat design team to complete this task perfectly. I have played ESO PvP for 8 years, so I know exactly how many mistakes this guy made over the years, and they always sugar coated it or shoved under the rug. Players have every right to point out "incompetence" and players are also customers that are paying real money for this game (product) , so they have every right to expect high standards. Look: "Back in 2017, The Elder Scrolls Online introduced a new PvP mode called Battlegrounds." Now after whole 7 years, studio have completely "re:designed it" and presented something that is worst than the original idea. Waiting for players in lobby can take literally 'forever' - BG's system it's completely worst than it was. I really enjoyed old BG's but this 'flop' is just preposterous. Battlegrounds was 'ok' they could just add few new good looking maps, Cyrodiil and Imperial City are both need some refreshing. Choosing to add change to 'working' battlegrounds was a way of a coward - a shortcut, they haste it and it shows. Incompetence. But hey, "don't like it, dont play it" - "don't want it, don't buy it" right? Yes, however: *Point It Out And Make a Stand* With all that said sir @billgrod764, I have nothing against you and I wish you good day.
@DrizztRPG happy thanksgiving and yeah it's not personal, it's just venting player to player it's all good... I've been playing since they converted to CP so I hear you and feel your frustrations. When I started pvp was enjoyable even during non pvp events. See you have to understand (I've been playing these types of games since DAOC) these mix pve/pvp games tend to lean one way or the other, but Zos leaned to the point it broke the scale. Think about it, they added TOT, IA, companions and the BGs and did nothing with Cryo and IC.. I can make a good argument that housing is more supported and better than pvp in ESO and it's sad. Pvp turned (non event) into gankers, bombers and 1 shot bow builds.. your right how Zos dropped the ball with pvp, (not defending them) but over 70 percent of ESO players don't pvp on a regular basis or not at all. One could argue, well if they made it better more would pvp and that's very true but it won't happen. A few years ago they hired a person who made the pvp in DAOC and it went nowhere. Zos is basically feeding a three day old turkey and pitching it as new. Many of my PVP friends left ESO due to this. Enjoy n be safe.
@@billgrod764 happy thanksgiving to you too my firend! I have made this 'drizzt' channel to share pvp gameplay for fun but I left pvp and eso in general quite recently. I cant stand it anymore tbf. The thing is - PvP combat design is not bad but it's surely forgotten by now, poor updates over the years, basically none, and like you have just said, it's not the main course of zeni. Cheers!
When it comes to viewership rewards, I like the IDEA of crates but 100% of the rewards ive gotten from oroboros crates has been useless junk. I'd like to either get other crates, or maybe items I can convert into a decent amount of gold OR maybe a dlc unlock. I watch for twitch rewards because I can't afford to drop money on the game, so meaningless bonuses are just that for me.
Personally, I feel like they just pull this idea out of the oven, half baked, and they didn't even ask if anyone was hungry or wanted it If you had asked the pvp community if they wanted this update, or maybe more content in cyrodiil or even just more maps, added to the regular battlegrounds that we had nobody would have asked for this update I don't even feel compelled to try it because of all. The issues I hear going on with it, both in design but also apparently bugs and performance issues
Having interacted with "the team" personally and on numerable occasions, I can tell you that unless there was a major internal shakeup, ZOS will do whatever ZOS chooses to do largely absent of any player feedback--regardless of what lip service their CSRs and representatives portray to the contrary. You either accept that ESO is what it is (casual-centric, bug riddled, heavy on MTX, and still fun in a quirky way) or you move on. Pretending as if you can enact change is a delusion of the highest order. I'm really not trying to sound harsh, but that's the reality of this game and its development.
Guys are crazy for saying they don't want to disclose their PVP build. If anybody wants mine they can just ask. Its really silly when people think they can't share their build spec because all it tells me is that they are relying on their spec over skill. C'mon man.
I'll be honest: I only watched a few minutes of the whole Battlegrounds Extravaganza. I'm not interested in PvP, though I have considered trying 8v8, so I just didn't find anything entertaining or interesting to watch. And I'll admit to being a bit disgruntled that the "reward" was the Chaosball pet that I already had. They could have thrown in a crate or something for a consolation reward. Maybe that would have given me some incentive to watch LOL Anyway, Thanks for the video!
So what were the Community managers of ZoS doing while this planned livestream was going on? Isn't that like specifically their job to host this sort of stuff, no? So 3 Devs doing PvP and one of them was a casual and also hosting the livestream.........sounds like a recipe for a quality event to me. The fact they wanted you to show your set-ups sounds like they just wanted to post some Gimp suits cos they know they have no clue how to fix PvP and it's like "just copy paste these". I watched about 20 mins before i left as it was mind numminlg boring....nobody heard of voice chat or just narrating the event, i can watch better streams on PvP on Twitch and it just shows why PvP is in such a bad state if these are the devs responsible for PvP. Just another low quality event by ZoS designed to lower the bar.
@@Official_JakeClips go back to 3 vs 3, if not that then have better balancing on the teams if that is even possible. Also why do we have to play only new maps now, they are lame compared to the old ones.
Love your content Jake but after half this video I’m out. I get it, you have to drink the kool-aid now but that stream was abysmal. You aren’t going to convince me that a dumpster fire was Moses and the burning bush. ✋🏻
Don't blame Jake. However it is very clear that, content creators who have achieved the status of "ESO Stream Team" - they all have to be really careful of making any judgements on the topic. It is very simple: you are with zos now or you are out. Look at other 'eso' big content creators channells right now, there is nothing about it, not a word. They all prefer to avoid that topic than being dragged into this mess further. Bethesda 'live stream' was a absoulte 'flop' and they know it.
@ oh I don’t blame Jake at all. I totally understand his reasoning for tip toeing around the subject. You’re right, I need to absolutely give him credit for even addressing it in the first place. Ultimately our frustration is with ZOS, and it’s disappointing they think they know better than their player base on most topics.
i am a new player, i loved the new pvp. I’ve played once when eso cam out to lvl 12, once again after elsywere to lvl 39, then again to lvl 3, now i am combat power lvl 60! The 8v8 was really fun and allowed be to be butt and still enjoy the combat. Now i’m grinding to make a pvp build and hopefully start build craft different builds with different classes. Love the game so far
I watched the main stream for long enough to get the drop, after that I left, quickly. It was not a good stream. As far as u44 PvP goes, I only play battlegrounds / IC dailies during midyear mayhem, and the odd trip to Cyrodil. I’m even less likely to play PvP now. The 4v4v4 was much more interesting / tactical, the 8v8 just looks like a mess, especially for PUGs.
But the 4v4v4 ended up being so many 8v1 last year or so. 😢 at least on pc EU and Na . And tactical? Yea hek no, pvp-sweaters were trashing all modes and inexperienced players, treating it all as deathmatch, and if your random team did not communicate with eachother, it was no different from the new update😂 at least now you get rewarded fairly afterwards, even with a weaker team.
I think I agree with you. I enjoy the game play. I know I’m not a perfect player by any means. But, it offers strategy, the chance to party chat with your members to play the game (the time), and a chance at rewards even if you lose. But we are suppose to be having fun. - and for some people it sounds like they’re not. Change is hard for anyone, and everyone has an opinion. I honestly think they should just have 1 que for 8v8 n 4v4 and funnel them all in to the same games. It would help fill the void of “looking for player”. I’m excited to see hopefully more focus on BGs :-)
But also, people in general need to be nicer for sure. That doesn’t mean “game talk is bad”, that means telling someone in game that they suck! - is horrible. You’ll lose people to play with that attitude. Not to mention that this game is some peoples social hour, or escape from other BS going on…. We shouldn’t be a part of that misery for people…. But yes, encourage them to do better or just don’t say anything. “ if you don’t have anything nice to say, then say nothing”….
Dear @MeghannG In your comment You are using a diverse strategy to avoid and dismiss the main point of the problem here. The main problem of discussion here is " Incompetence of an long term employee who is a lead combat designer of ESO". And he failed miserably at his job once more. With his unprepared gameplay, he showed little respect for ESO community in his presentation and very little to none knowledge of PvP itself. It is not about players "game talk" or players "talking bad", anyway they all have the right to disagree with developers who tries to delete any discussion on the topic. Also this is about making a point and stand against ignorant behaviour of a global gaming company, to warn new customers, especially the children. If you would study psychology and philosophy, maybe you would have had "eyes-wide-open" not "eyes-wide-shut". Every global company is using vicious "tricks" to dismantle an opposition, and they can gain new, clueless players into their fairy-tale world very easily. Be nice, don't be ignorant.
a valiant effort in damage control, so i applaud it. my perspective is that any pvp in online gaming is inherently toxic. appealing to casuals only takes you so far. the fundamental structure of eso combat is not user friendly, nor easy to understand at first. their attempt to make eso pvp look inviting was not executed properly. why? because building a character is a requirement and basic to advanced combat knowledge and cues are a minimum. they would need to rework pvp entirely to create opportunities for casual players to participate with very little experience. such as a "support" or "healer" role class with its own queue system and integration. therefore, i've come to the conclusion that appealing to hardcore gamers is more in line with eso's path towards expanding their pvp. league of legends should be the blueprint. that game has the perfect mix of viewer engagement and player skill ceiling and expression. zos needs to treat its pvp like a master class, with respect for the curriculum and lineage of expertise. the stream showcase needed knowledge dumping. it needed an exhibition of poise. it was a total disconnect from their reality and did not achieve their ideals. zos is not in touch with their potential nor their pvp community. if the backbone of pvp is disrespected, as they were, what hope is there? i hate to be this critical, but people want to see anomalies in gaming, not headless chickens. that is what grows multiplayer combat. they want to see egos with the dexterity to back it up. eso is a nerdy game. i want that side to be shown to the masses. it isn't just little uwu housing rp simulator. that stream has done irreparable damage to the devoted veteran player base, which has been dwindling.
@@Official_JakeClipswinning and loosing is in the nature of the game. But to be honest I witnessed more toxicity In pve guidls when pve people bully pvp players than in cyro.
Content creators should stop sugarcoat what is obvious 🥱 The latest ESO Battlegrounds Livestream was 'unscripted' and 'raw' presentation that showed how badly *PvP is underappreciated* 😵 "Lead Combat Designer" Brian Wheeler PvP presentation was embarrassing and showed his total incompetence. He was clueless and did not know what to do in PvP. 🤯 When "Lead Combat Designer" uses "random" copy pasted build from the internet, a far outdated one bar setup and he fails with it miserably - it is laughable, unacceptable and wrong. 😒
@@DrizztRPG considering how half the video was dedicated to giving constructive criticism idk how that’s sugar coating things. I also discussed it on live as well too

I love how youtube gives me messages that adblock is not allowed on their platform so I turn it off and get an ad for ad block. Like seriously what a joke platform.
It's embarrassing let's not beat around the bush here
I'm sure Zeni team will do a Party making fun of PvP players who watched that "silent" stream 😂
There was no chemistry and barely any communication between the 3 of them. Between that and the lead combat dev not understanding combat couldn't have been worse
They were all using telepathy to communicate, it is quite obvious jk🤭

Every PvP player would love to believe that, I'm absolutely sure.
Brian Wheelchair is beyond anything :
The build -> Absolutely horrible and outdated
The Skills -> Also almost close to 0 knowledge of correct skills/utility (no use of scribing that i remember)
Pvp knowledge -> Just roaming around dying in less than 3 min after respawn
Stream -> 0 commentary or synergy with others to make plays happen
Skin -> BRUH lets not even talk about the basic 10yo daedric armor just tinted in red
-20/20
And that's HIS MAIN JOB FOR 365 DAYS OF THE YEARS FOR PAST 10 years, there's nothing to save, there's NO excuses.
Brian 'I suck at my job' Wheelchair, Brian 'I don't know how to heavy attack to get stam back and stop dying' is part of the second combat team, the first team that actually develop and made the gem eso combat is got sacked like 4 years in.
I missed it but appreciate your breakdown of his set up.

PvP in ESO is like "irrelevant sidequest" which will never be properly updated.
New Battlegrounds system is an utter disgrace.
im sorry but sugar couating this isnt helping anyone. this needs to be a wake up for zos that they are out of touch with the player base
I’ll be discussing it more on live after work today
Dear @JTKGAMING14
Zenimax: Sorry it is really hard to hear you @JTKGAMING14, we have plugged our ears with two billion dollars.
If you have any concerns about PvP combat, you can ask our well trained "Lead Combat Designer" about it.
Or simply watch our latest Bethesda stream to learn more about PvP and NEW Battlegrounds system 😂😂
Safe Travels Out There!
years Jake, I've been playing since console launch, I probably started getting good after 3 years of being complete trash, it's been almost 10 years and I only have really good skills with stamden, stamplar and I used to be really good at stamblade but the new patch wrecked my play style so I'm trying to adapt.
I have a plan for this
There was actually a big fuss a while back the real Godzilla.
Can you message me on discord :)
There is a movie Ford vs Ferrari. And there is a scene there, where professional racer takes Mr Ford on a "ride" on a new sport's car. Ford peed in his pants and cried. Do you get the parallel between Ford and Wheeler?
I watch you all the time but its sounds like you're only taking one side. Most likely since you're in the eso content creators program
I’ll be going into more detail on the live stream tonight after work. The video was initially 34 minutes long so I trimmed it down so it was more focused with the assumption I’ll discuss it later on a live stream
Forgetting the name of a class or a skill is okay, not knowing Heavy Attack is how to recover recourses when you’re in charge of combat is worrying
Oh it wasn't that bad isn't it? It's not like he will lose his job or anything..right? jk
Playing a Plar "healbot" spec, as clueless as he did played is worth a promotion😆
Oh! hush hush now.. there, here you go - you will receive: free daily crown crate and non-combat "Skyrim Slug" pet. Happy? jk
You didn’t watch 🥺
Lets be honest i expect my pvp head to atleast mediocre at pvp that eas embarrassing and explain why pvp is in the state that it's in
Zenimax: We are sorry to inform you that your comment was deleted. 😆
dude, jake.. the new system is ass. They didn't need to fix something that worked perfectly fine. They just needed to add new maps and a battle royal. Stop trying to fix a burnt overly salted turkey. The devs don't know how to cook.
the devs cook to "cook" jk
My suggestion as to what to give away for twitch drops? Maybe just not another ouroboros crate honestly.
Not to be rude, but stream showed how bad update was😂. Instead of complaing of all the bad here are my solutions.
Reduce heals based on having larger group/ more players being healed. Not sure how but also reduce damage based on being tanky, doesnt seem balanced like years ago
Imperial sewers: how much time did they spend changing rewards?..... when they could have matched tev lar drops in lower city to upper city boss's.
Dear @DrewTheWolfe22
Remember that you are trying to convince a company that made "$2bn "billion dollars" since game launched already.
Read this:
This game is not about PvP and never really was.
Game developer have abandoned this business model long before launching of "One Tamriel". ESO its a PvE game, that is all about dungeons & dragons.
Three focus points below:
PvP stayed in ESO as addition to the game heavy focused on PvE.
This is the man in charge of combat for this game and it shows GG's Brian and other clueless money hungry Devs 😂
There is a reason why aaa is dying. This guy is the lead designer😒. Are you kidding me, Microsoft?
Jake, Firstly, big love for the videos I've learnt a lot from your videos.

Hmm..who is in charge of "Combat Design" in ESO I wonder? jk
I love battle grounds. Wish there was more balancing
I much prefer the two team setup. Three team was neat but you'd constantly be in a 2v1 group scenario because the enemy losing team would just be trying to drop you further so they can get second place. Mad annoying
Well done on the open, sir!
Devs bad at game.
Devs bad at developing game.
Embarrassing to be an eso player tbh 😔
Im still confused. Was it just too much data to have an add-on instead of a replacement? Seems pointless. Removing the previous format made no sense unless it has to do with storage issues.
It seemed like it was more of a balancing issue from an MMR perspective
@@billgrod764 I understand what you mean, and I don't expect 'perfection' by any means, what I expect is this:
I expect full professionalism from a man who is responsible for combat design and leading the combat design team to complete this task perfectly.
Yes, however: *Point It Out And Make a Stand*
With all that said sir @billgrod764, I have nothing against you and I wish you good day.
Cheers!
New BG is awesome , never liked it before , now I'm playing in BG every day.
Personally, I feel like they just pull this idea out of the oven, half baked, and they didn't even ask if anyone was hungry or wanted it
If you had asked the pvp community if they wanted this update, or maybe more content in cyrodiil or even just more maps, added to the regular battlegrounds that we had nobody would have asked for this update
I don't even feel compelled to try it because of all.
😊
Maybe that would have given me some incentive to watch LOL
Anyway, Thanks for the video!
"some twicks" bro? the new battlegrounds need to go into a dumpster fire.

@@joshrees1591 just out of curiosity at any point in the video did I say it wasn’t a dumpster fire
You could’ve watched my stream for the drop 🥺
But the 4v4v4 ended up being so many 8v1 last year or so. 😢 at least on pc EU and Na . And tactical? Yea hek no, pvp-sweaters were trashing all modes and inexperienced players, treating it all as deathmatch, and if your random team did not communicate with eachother, it was no different from the new update😂 at least now you get rewarded fairly afterwards, even with a weaker team.
I appreciate you being positive. Best part of eso is the community. You embrace that and that’s why I follow you. Thank you.
I don’t want to give off the if you don’t have anything nice don’t say anything as my intention was the opposite I’ll be discussing it later on stream
Dear @MeghannG
In your comment You are using a diverse strategy to avoid and dismiss the main point of the problem here.

And yet i still couldnt get the pet again like last time a d also being a content creator myself i wasnt invited despite going to Amsterdam

Excellent video. Love your videos ❤❤❤
a valiant effort in damage control, so i applaud it. my perspective is that any pvp in online gaming is inherently toxic. appealing to casuals only takes you so far. the fundamental structure of eso combat is not user friendly, nor easy to understand at first. their attempt to make eso pvp look inviting was not executed properly. why? because building a character is a requirement and basic to advanced combat knowledge and cues are a minimum. they would need to rework pvp entirely to create opportunities for casual players to participate with very little experience. such as a "support" or "healer" role class with its own queue system and integration. therefore, i've come to the conclusion that appealing to hardcore gamers is more in line with eso's path towards expanding their pvp. league of legends should be the blueprint. that game has the perfect mix of viewer engagement and player skill ceiling and expression. zos needs to treat its pvp like a master class, with respect for the curriculum and lineage of expertise. the stream showcase needed knowledge dumping. it needed an exhibition of poise. it was a total disconnect from their reality and did not achieve their ideals. zos is not in touch with their potential nor their pvp community. if the backbone of pvp is disrespected, as they were, what hope is there? i hate to be this critical, but people want to see anomalies in gaming, not headless chickens. that is what grows multiplayer combat. they want to see egos with the dexterity to back it up. eso is a nerdy game. i want that side to be shown to the masses. it isn't just little uwu housing rp simulator. that stream has done irreparable damage to the devoted veteran player base, which has been dwindling.
To your point pvp is inherently more “toxic” than pve as in pvp someone always losses
@@Official_JakeClipswinning and loosing is in the nature of the game. But to be honest I witnessed more toxicity In pve guidls when pve people bully pvp players than in cyro.

@ I’m doing a video on my plan for recommendations for pvp later
