I'm sure it would be much better for the plebs, the working poor, the unemployed, the vulnerable, ill and disabled etc if politicians had control of all our rights and held them all to ransom.
You can have some human rights if you are wealthy enough... You can have even more rights and power over the hoi polloi if you are really wealthy and donate to the party members.

@@serendipity2345-k8r why was it only thought of just before the election. I voted Conservative but the Tories in the last 6 years stopped being conservative! They became Socialist in their governing & policies. They allowed the woke radical left to infiltrate every institution and push their agenda. I like some of the new candidates but the party (as they did with Thatcher) imploded over Boris. I don’t think many people really cared that Boris had a few drinks etc but the party instead of just staying United, they allowed the politicised (to the left) Main stream media to push and push and didn’t just move on. The party has sadly brought what’s happening (with reform) on themselves. Really Reform is pretty much what traditional conservatives were. I'm sorry, the talk is good and I have a lot of respect for Robert Jenrick but he is speaking on behalf of the same government that only up until recently governed the country for 14 years and did nothing about this great elephant in the room, and only seem to be jumping on the immigration bandwagon because of the success of Reform.

Social comparison theory suggests that people value their personal and social worth by assessing how they compare to others. First introduced in 1954, this psychological theory describes the comparison processes people utilize to evaluate their actions, accomplishments, and opinions in contrast to those of other people. The more equal we are in our freedom to choose how we can contribute to society makes it more likely that the best contributions will be realized.
