I'm an older dude also 50+. DMZ brought me back to video games...watching Phix, On1c, Westie and Stodeh. Last time I played video games was on PS2.... socom3 and splinter cell.
100% I always loved BF and COD but never a massive fan of BR DMZ has bridged that gap and kept us old foggies (50) in the game. Just look at the chat...all older demagraphic!

I've always assumed it would return solely based on the "BETA" classification. Only after i quit videogames (DMZ being my primary game most of the last years) many months back did i hear it was canceled in some delineation or another. Im glad to hear some/if any confirmation or talk confiming my original suspicions. It was a one of a kind experience in the early seasons and its one of the few, if not only games that vaules not being a complete and under shtbag all the time hahah One of the only semi-cicalized gaming communities. long live DMZ 👍
DMZ was the only game mode that got me to spend money on skin bundles. If it comes back in the next IW game I am ALL IN.

DMZ was the reason I came back to cod . I played from the very first cod and would play the campaign then not touch it . Bo2 was when I started playing multiplayer and even with that after a month I wouldn’t play the game again.
I got mw2 with a ps5 bundle, I was looking through the game modes and I saw DMZ, I didn’t know what it was but was hooked instantly as it’s more then just mindless killing each other .
They discontinued support on DMZ for the MWIII life cycle hoping that the DMZ community would hop-on MW Zombies, but we did not. I think what's happening is that Activision may be realizing their mistake and they've now understood that there is not only an actual audience for that type of gamemode, but also a new direct and solid competitor with Delta Force coming out soon, which may very well be why we could see DMZ servers held-up as well as DMZ return in the next IW game. Let's hope it happens !

DMZ in the beginning was awesome. Some PvP , some PvE, surprise interactions, , lots of maps and missions. Best mode ever. Just left because now it's just PvP, too hard for solo players. I hope they bring this mode back in the future

DMZ is THE only game mode I play! I still enjoy it and love to this day. I truly hope it gets a well deserved update. If it doesn’t, I will still be playing it until they shut it down.

DMZ keeps the game diverse. My pops and I Ioved special ops and survival so dmz brought him back and now he has a squad of old cod vets and I got left out 🤣🤣

I've always said poster in central station ( vondel ) were a indication that dmz back in 2025. They state Egyptian tour starts 2025. Just a strange date they used . My theory..

I just started playing Call of Duty last year in November and I've really enjoyed it. I think with the community that still exists for DMZ that they should keep it running. Give some updates and possibly even expand the size of von Dell seeing as you can look across the water and see a whole town over the bridge they need to make it bigger.
That would be amazing, and really pacify all of us true.D m z fans.
I'm inclined to agree that with DMZ still up and running, the odds are beginning to look favourable that DMZ 2.0 will be released, hopefully in stand alone mode.
It would be excellent if mission completion and loadout were carried over, and they scrapped one shot shotguns, the under barrel glitch, lag hacking and under map glitches so we're left with a more equitable playing field.

Honestly one of my favorite game modes of all time
I’ve been a gamer forever but now only a casual with a daughter, going to school, and being a husband. I can only game so often. Don’t play enough to compete with all the sweats in WarZone so I fell in love with DMZ and thought it was really fun. I’ve taken breaks from it and getting back into it and currently am super into it and love it.

I for one will continue to play until someone tells me a can no longer. Some of my best memories of playing have been here and I discovered awesome streamers like Phixate because of it.
The interaction with some the new online freinds i have got playing DMZ is like no other game i have ever played online. I am 63 and hope this map stays until the possible replacement. Still lovin it and laughing a lot. ❤️
A buddy of mine is the Production Director and EP for Call of Duty at Activison. He just celebrated 20 years there. I congratulated him and said he should celebrate by bringing back DMZ. He said "Thanks, Matt. That sounds like a good idea. Let me see what I can do..."

DMZ is IW's biggest mode since Warzone. It would surprise me that they let this one fall through the cracks, especially with other similar games, like Delta Force, being a hit. DMZ came first and it would be stupid not to continue it.

For me, I just don’t see Activision abandoning the extraction shooter genre. I kind of consider this to be similar to blackout. It was quite popular, but it didn’t quite hit how it needed to. Some time passed and we got wz. I truly think they’re going to come back with a vengeance at some point and have something much more fleshed out. If they’re smart, they will make it a completely separate game. Unique weapons, attachments and systems only found in DMZ. And no goofy skins. If they play their cards right, they could have them that would be insanely popular.
Yusss… can’t wait to see what events go on… loved the Halloween update from a year or two ago as well as storming and blowing open the mountain with the whole lobby…

@Phixate you are also missing the fact that Infinity Ward, creators of DMZ, opened a NEW Studio in Austin, Tx, last November (2023) to work on 'innovative' new CoD experiences (and DMZ or PvEvP mode is new and innovative for CoD). This after they stated that they had learned all they could from this successful Beta and would take those learnings forward. Of course that doesn't necessarily guarantee that their new studio was set up specifically to make DMZ 2.0, but if you look at the 'success' of DMZ, the fact its still popular and still selling Bundles, it seems logical they created a Studio that can 'continue' with DMZ beyond the 'yearly' cycle of their mainline CoD. This year its Treyarchs year after Sledgehammer took over with MW3 from Infinity Ward and their DMZ year and MW2 release.
Still remember fighting you in dmz when you solo queued you ended up joining another 3 stack and fought me and my buddies. Was a good fight 👍

Jokes aside, I never had a hate boner for IW like how most of the community seems to have for them. They really put passion into this mode. I’m certain they realize just how popular of a mode this is if they themselves called this a passion project. Time will tell, but I can 100% see them making DMZ their “third” mode.

They need to bring back DMZ it’s one of the best games I have played and I don’t like many games would be nice to get more updates and some new stuff.
I stopped playing altogether when they cancelled DMZ but absolutely loved the game. Would definitely pick up a controller again if it comes back. Loved the mission aspect to the game, and as a not very good player game me the opportunity to drop in and at least play rather than just get decimated in MP constantly.

Another thing I think about is, I dk if DMZ can ever go back to what it was at first. We’ve been ALL PVP for too long now. I think if a COD player is on the game, PvP will always be the first priority.

I honestly think they would need to do a different build for DMZ when compared to BR warzone though. The slower pace and move mechanics of MW2 work really well for this mode.

I mean anything is possible. DMZ was great at the start then tapered off. I think the hopefully wording of “stay tuned for future updates” is what keeps people holding on. If it does return it needs to be its own separate game. I would pay for that, good money too.
Time will tell for sure. Ive never once believed cod devs fully gave up on dmz. My one bright qol improvement is that if we do have to wait till inf wards next game at least wel have delta force until we get our proper dmz relaunch.
I really hope Delta Force comes out swinging. It really is looking like a solid game. I’ll play it for sure, but I also want them to succeed so we can see competition. Increase the likelihood of DMZ 2.0

I honestly feel like they aren't concerned about the game at all or the community. How much development do you need to nerf 0SS? That one thing would be a huge improvement.
Go into WZ games see how many people talk versus DMZ. The DMZ community is loyal and I haven’t heard anyone say that if they came out with a pay to play DMZ that they wouldn’t pay for it. On the flipside I’ve heard many people say that they won’t buy battle passes or the main game if DMZ is not upgraded.

Nerf that damn One Shot Shotgun and the throwing knives!
The throwing knives are unstoppable if u got the skills for it.. that can stay cuz most ppl ain't good like that.. but the shotty is crazy in hallways and buildings in general u have no chance without good movement
I think a way to fix Koschei but still have it part of Al Mazrah is to have the entrances lock once the gas starts moving, so if you need to go into Koeschei you have to do it earlier in the raid, and once a team uses the entrance it locks (one time use per raid)
I like that but don’t limit the amount of uses per raid for each entrance. Idk maybe that’d be good though 🤷🏻

Anothet thing that will probably keep it around, I play on EU servers, and it usually fills a lobby in less than 2mins each game. Yes there's less players needed to fill a lobby, but still. For an unsupported game mode with zero updates for a year, that's still pretty damn good.

We don't want a forced Mission wipe, but an option to reset your own missions if you want to would be nice. Some of us still have missions to do and there's no way I would be happy if I had to start again! Took me ages to unlock my weapon slots.
If we get a new DMZ that means new missions and everybody is starting back at square 1.. plus nothing from MW2 is carrying over so u have no choice bruh

That's right. Treyarch is releasing their black ops 1 sequel in 2025. IW will release their new title in 2026. It's always possible that they may be preparing for an update considering IW basically let sledgehammer completely take the reigns for MWIII after season 2. Before season 2 of MWIII infinity ward was still hard pressed on controlling what sledgehammer could release and update. After season 2 is when SH started flooding the game with content and hasn't really stopped. So hopefully it means that IW got focused on something else and is cooking up an apology game for screwing up so bad with MWII 😂

If DMZ is coming back it needs a player driven market with deep customization to guns. EFT / Arena breakout style.
Koshie needs to have randomized entrance time windows with no way of knowing when they are available it would make final more active again and make koshie entrances more active since you would often need to visit more than one to get in.
The only reason I have been playing DMZ and 2042 is because we don't have Delta Force to play, it'll be good if they do a new DMZ but honestly, I doubt it'll best Delta Force.

Seeing internal strings in Call of Duty games doesn’t mean much. It’s likely just leftovers from the previous usage of the engine. WZM had/has DMZ strings that were even visible in the UI up until global release.
It would be nice if they would bring back the Halloween event or night maps as permanent just for shits and giggles if they don't touch DMZ ever again.
Why don't they just opensource the code and the servers if they are going to let it die? Let the community take control!
If they bring out another DMZ I’ll be there with money in hand.
