I've listened to A7X since 2006 (thank you NFS most wanted) and you absolutely nailed it. I missed the old sound, even though I love their new style after The Stage, and this song instantly took me back to my childhood.
Most wanted was also the game that made me love them early as a kid! The game has very good sountracks!

I listen to this earlier today on Spotify, and it was great. Really captured the essence of old Avenged Sevenfold.
Everything but an A7x song is never less than 5 minutes so it is the only short comming in the song
Some of the guitar is similar to old avenged sevenfold but the song feels more like a mix of Nightmare and The Stage.
It really is like a perfect blend of WtF and CoE!!! I’m astonished, though I shouldn’t be at this point. Everything Nick does turns into golden pandas!!!!

Justin does a really good job achieving Shadow's vocal style and the Nik's little melodic licks throughout the song sound so much like the stuff Syn did in the earlier albums. this is sick
Facts Nik really captured it, and Justin is probably the closest you could get to M Shadows unique vocals, he's not exactly the same he's missing some aspects of Matt's vocals he's not quite as gruff or nasally sounding as Matt but still he did an amazing job
Uhhh shadows vocal style has changed considerably and I highly doubt anyone can Keep up with the constant technique changes. So again hard to pinpoint the "matt style" when it changes everytime. An easy adapt is just say axl rose.

This is the exact sound that made me absolutely love avenged. I know they like to try new things and some of it has been good but some of it's been a little bland. To me, they're at their best when they write songs like this Something tells me that The Rev was instrumental in that portion of their songwriting,.

Awesome! IMO the guitar styling is damn near spot on! Especially the harmonies. If someone said “here’s the new avenged song” I wouldn’t think twice about it not being them.
The fact this covers basically every album style of avenged sevenfold. I got major The Stage vibes from the solo. This was awesome
i hear styles from Waking the falllen, city of evil, nightmare and the stage.
For me it leans more towards nightmare, but there's definitely elements of everything in there. I think I even heard a bit of Nobody on the leads that come in over the clean part

Some bands need 10+ years for a new album because of the "creative process" while Nik just drops banger after banger in different styles/genres 😂 amazing work man, thanks!
This kind of stuff isn't hard to do, especially for a good musician like Nik. I guarantee when he is trying to write for his own stuff it's a lot more involved.
It's easier when you have a template, synthesizing something totally new with its own distinct sound is a lot harder, still god damn impressive none the less.
This is closer to a paint by numbers than creating your own unique painting from scratch though.
That’s the difference, not saying Nik isn’t talented, but it’s an entirely different process.

A lot of this song is a "greatest hits" taken from the best of A7X and expertly played and composed.
It still takes talent, but it is also much different to starting with a blank canvas with nothing else.
I'm sure Nik himself would agree.
Hands down you're an absolute legend nik! That end solo is genius. People take this guy for granted just because he jokes around but you're one of the best metal musician in this era
To come up with the stuff he does, in the timeframe that he does it, takes a special kind of person. Nik is by far one of the most talented people I’ve come across, on multiple fronts.

This is actually fucking amazing! You captured the early A7X vibes here really well, especially the characteristics of each album. I think it would fit well on a City of Evil-style album (the chorus and overall vibes fit into this era i think)
The only critcism I have is the drum programming not really fitting the style of The Rev, but that would be quite difficult to achieve and probably isn't worth the time.

@@tose5566 It is, but it doesn't have that "holy crap I'm in musical paradise" feel to it that songs like nightmare, HTTK, etc had. I am a massive a7x fan and had to honestly really push myself to appreciate the new song. Like, let's not kid ourselves, we all listened to Nobody a million times for it to grow on us, whereas I'm sure everyone was floored when the first notes of Syns's solo on nightmare hit. I will always support them going in different directions, but 2003-2013 A7X is peak music for me.

I love everything Avenged has ever put out (yes I know I'm a bit of a fanboy, just deal with it), so I can't say this is better than anything they themselves have done in recent years, but this whole song is a pretty accurate depiction of their overall sound throughout their career, so I definitely approve of this.
they change sound in certain ways on every album, that's their style and it works for them. But yeah, whenever someone says A7X style song, this fits the description with almost everything checked.
@@gergoretvari6373 Exactly, they've done things their way their entire career even with the sound deviations from all the way back on Sounding The Seventh Trumpet and they were one of the first metalcore bands to refuse to be nailed to just that subgenre and branch out into a more straightforward and often experimental style, which is what I've always respected them for doing because they've made it work. Their status as one of the biggest modern metal bands going today has proven how pivotal that choice was

Dude, coming from a all time A7X fan, that was phenomenal. From the melodies, the harmonies, the riffs (from all album's) and still keeping those classic Syn tasty solo's. It really felt like it captured that City of Evil energy I have been looking for now for years. I must say though, Zacky Vengeance has a lot more to offer than harmonies and standard rhythm riff/chords. He puts up some nice tasty sounding riff's even during Syn's leads
