While I’ll say that I do love the Fantano/Logic dynamic and I think this is a fun video, something about the way that Logic phrases his responses just screams “I’m insecure and I want Anthony to like me,”or “He’s being so mean and harsh to these hard working artists and that’s not fair,” and while I do understand his want for approval because validation is a common need that we want from people we admire, it seems like it’s affecting his “logic”(oh damn) and understanding of criticism and that it isn’t a personal attack on the artist itself. I just find it kind of annoying and slightly off putting.. Maybe I’m taking this too seriously and it ain’t that deep, but it’s something that I noticed, I suppose. It’s all good, Logic! You are a talented individual!
I think the intention of the video was to be satirical however since these are actual opinions that he had in the past it kind of hits as if it might be him speaking through a little bit from the heart.
Yeah i feel that. I’ve been on both sides of this kind of dynamic and I think Anthony understands how cringe it is but its tough bc Logic’s clearly a mostly nice sensitive guy and Anthony’s trying to be nice back while also being like “no”
I agree with everything you’ve said except this: I really don’t even think Logic is particularly talented. Sure, he’s “technically” talented - but in a way that is in such poor taste that I don’t see much merit in it.
That MGK review is my favourite fantano vid next to his Feldman review video, I love that Melon doesn't relish in the negativity and get excited to dunk on something unless it's SO BAD that its interesting.
Nah Logic is just mad soft man lol. Calling Fantano’s criticism of Chance “the most savage thing I’ve ever heard someone say about someone publicly” is insane… like he’s just not built for this sort of thing and that’s okay, he just needs to stop obsessing over it. You supposed to be a rapper bro, this is hop hop! Come on dawg lol.
@@TheNadroj10 What do you think the point of Logic's video was? Honestly? He's not actually mad at Fantano for being a "meany". He's very clearly having fun.
This just comes across as logic still being upset at fantano for giving all those negative reviews to him and trying to say those reviews were invalid picking out flaws in the way he reviews stuff, except he chose someone else’s album to be the subject and did under the guise of ‘comedy’
I mean… yeah. There’s no law against critiquing someone’s criticism, that’s literally what Fantano is doing in this video. Also, Logic’s point was that Fantano is an entertainer first and foremost. He could be a critic and prioritize his experience in an objective way but that wouldn’t be entertaining. So, he makes videos (like the one Logic reviewed) where he absolutely shreds people. That’s content. It seems, based on your comment, that you definitely didn’t watch Logic’s full video
I remember how everyone thought that Logic and Fantano were on good terms and then Logic spat that bar about Fantano on his last project. Fantano's reaction was priceless. My guy was about to get a restraining order fr 😄
@@August._b 100% lol. So many of the comments under this video are acting as if Logic is saying Fantano's a bad critic and too mean when that's clearly not the case at all.
My only criticism of Fantano's work isn't the quality of his work but the framing that comes with the territory of TH-cam content creation. There's a level of expectation when a "red flannel review" drops. You expect a certain level of dunking on content, maybe a bit more pageantry, which is why the red flannel reviews get more engagement than non-flannels, regardless of the known quantity of the artist being reviewed. Again, it's all part of the TH-cam game. The flannel bit makes great thumbnails, which helps drive traffic and engagement. But it does tend to skew those negative reviews a bit more harshly than others without saying a word.
Damn. This was more eye-opening than Logic’s review of the review. I actually want to see a review of the review of the review of the review from Logic
Something serious is at stake here: if Fantano did indeed replace his colourful languages and harsh critique with a more respectful approach, many of us probably wouldn’t be here. So the issue here seems to stem from the fact that we collectively revel in Fantano’s “meanness” to pieces of music he dislikes, which in fairness can indeed come across as disparaging to the artists themselves. I think Fantano knows this, so his offer to consider taking on suggestions on how to be more respectful is a little contradictory (even if I don’t doubt his sincerity). Personally I think it’s totally fine - great even in cases - for Fantano to be harsh and mean towards big name artists who dropped the ball. I am more hesitant with smaller artists - though it seems to me that Fantano probably feels this way as well since as far as I know he’s never really been mean to smaller artists.
This was pretty damn entertaining to watch! I do have to say I think the one spot you were off on that Chance review is Zanies & Fools. That track goes hard and Chance has Bars. Chance definitely should’ve ended it, but overall a great track on an album that didn’t have much.
I think for me the biggest thing about negative reviews is their date of release. idk when you put yours out bc new fan, but it really bothers me when I read negative reviews for media before I get the chance to form my own opinion on it. if others around you are saying that x media is bad, when you go to listen to / watch / read x media on your own, your perception of it is going to be influenced already. I feel like allowing / encouraging viewers to try it out themselves first is a great way of showing respect to the artist and the listener. but also, ik thumbnails are important and also if you post a review a month late then less people will care. idk cheers love ur vids an example: I went into the new Thor movie expecting it to be bad, and I was sitting there having to get over my own semi-conscious mental block that "people say this movie is bad, therefor I shouldn't like it" when I realized I was enjoying the movie.
Ah, man... I was hoping Logic was going to have fun with this and be a little more even-handed in his approach. But, instead, he sorta comes across as someone who is still in their feelings when it comes to music criticism. Like, my man, you're telling me that someone who hasn't liked an artist's work in the past should choose to not review their future work? It sorta sounds like you only want critics to be fans who gush about albums. That isn't what criticism is.
This honestly just makes Logic look dumb, or worse, disingenuous. He doesn't seem to (or refuses to) understand bias, criticism, or logical comparison.
What's up with these comments being so weird? I feel like it's pretty clear Logic made a review of a review to mess around and clearly is just a sympthathetic person lol.
@@jackfoudray the only thing is clear is the insecurity about negative reviews, he did the same on the Rory and mal podcast saying Joe Budden saying his bars were trash pushed him to the brink of suicide,, he's constantly trying to police how people should review his music it's bizarre

I love how this guy makes videos over 10 minutes long, not even for the ad revenue part, you can tell he just enjoys giving and receiving feedback and doing what he loves to do 😅
I think the thing I like about logic is that he takes his criticism to heart which gives him authenticity, Someone needs to tell Logic that he just needs to be himself and appreciate his fans, ignoring all comparisons. Or to be honest look at Anthony’s responses to your questions, you had him shook a few times lololol. People taking shots at your work mean that you’re relevant. Being an artist is different but you can buy into that world of being relevant etc. Look at Eminem, he has many critics, J Cole may not have as many, Kendrick either, but I think you’re accessible which Eminem is now also. Just being authentic to yourself is the most important thing. Post Malone has haters and he’s more RnB but he made it with less relevancy in that space and continues to pave his own unique path.
Dunkey said something about that stupid comment he got as well "why are you reviewing something you seem not to like" you can't just continuously listen to play or watch the shit you know you like since then as a reviewer you have 0 value what context would we have if everyone just reviewed everything pefectly because they only review things they enjoy
I think it's a little weird how Logic still think and care about Fantano he's way more into it than Anthony is, he made a whole song about Fantano without letting him know and now he makes this video unpromptedly
Logic is a good dude. He obviously doesn't like criticism to some extent. He's seeking and promoting liberation and coming from Logic, that's understandable.
I'm surprised that someone who's as much of a music fan as Logic has such basic takes and opinions. Like, these are the lines someone who "likes everything but country and rap" uses.
If you've worked with artists before, this isn't unusual. A lot of creatives are purely about the process of creating, and feel uncomfortable critically evaluating the work of others. It might seem like a crazy blindspot for an artist to have, but as long as they are exploring in their own work, they don't necessarily have to develop a sharply discerning sense of taste to be successful. However, in this case it may explain the highly variable quality of Logic's back catalogue.
@@billhicks8 ^ This. I'd also imagine it would make it difficult collaborating with other artists in the future when they bring up "Oh, you told the internet my work was trash." lol.
I don't like country or rap but I've studied music my whole life and have no issue with criticism. In fact it's because of my criticisms that I don't like country or rap. I've legitimately never heard this weird stereotype until now? I'm basically the polar opposite of Logic.
@@lilaclunablossom lol i think he's referencing the idea that people who claim to not like country or rap tend to be on the more ignorant side when it comes to music consumption. Not necessarily ignorant in a malevolent way, but I know I'm personally highly skeptical of anyone who writes off entire genres of music unless they elaborate sufficiently. It just reeks of an opinion formed through osmosis (i.e. they hang out with people who don't like 'x or x') rather than personal experience and time spent actually listening to it. obviously that isn't always the case, just a heuristic that I've found useful
Depth is the exact definition of substance to digest,I personally do not listen to music without depth unless it's the most energetic beat with the most undeserving lyrics that I hate but the beats so good I can push the lyrics off, example:take a step back by ski mask.

I think the intention of the video was to be satirical however since these are actual opinions that he had in the past it kind of hits as if it might be him speaking through a little bit from the heart.
Yeah i feel that. I’ve been on both sides of this kind of dynamic and I think Anthony understands how cringe it is but its tough bc Logic’s clearly a mostly nice sensitive guy and Anthony’s trying to be nice back while also being like “no”
Honestly I see this as A CLEVER WAY to market logics upcoming album
I agree with everything you’ve said except this:
I really don’t even think Logic is particularly talented. Sure, he’s “technically” talented - but in a way that is in such poor taste that I don’t see much merit in it.
@@theonlyjavimunoz5935 who is gonna watch that video and go listen to his album
That MGK review is my favourite fantano vid next to his Feldman review video, I love that Melon doesn't relish in the negativity and get excited to dunk on something unless it's SO BAD that its interesting.
The worst part is that logic will see this and take it to heart for his next fantano review review
You could not have predicted the future any more accurately lmao
I think Logics video idea is the definition “better on paper”
Ever heard of someone named Drake?
@@junjiito6298 Drake’s DM’s to fantano were both awful on paper and in execution lol
This is someone who can give criticism out and take it even better. Respect
the anti-eminem
YES WE ALL WANT GOOD CHANCE THE RAPPER AGAINNNNN I honestly really liked highs and lows and I really want to see him succeed
Yeah
I feel like they really want him to fail, i been seeing people quick to hate
they had better keep doing this and reacting to each others review of their review of their review of their review
Come on dawg lol.
i don't see how a professional _rapper_ can say that. Has he never seen beef or a rap battle? This shit is nothing
@@billhicks8 yeah he needs to just ignore this shit and move on. Logic sensitive as hell
@@TheNadroj10 What do you think the point of Logic's video was? Honestly? He's not actually mad at Fantano for being a "meany". He's very clearly having fun.
@@jackfoudray it comes across as more insecure and "secretly mad at Fantano for being a big meanie" than it does "just having fun"
This just comes across as logic still being upset at fantano for giving all those negative reviews to him and trying to say those reviews were invalid picking out flaws in the way he reviews stuff, except he chose someone else’s album to be the subject and did under the guise of ‘comedy’
Yeah same
I mean… yeah.
100%
Looking forward to Chance The Rapper's response to Fantano's response to Logic's review of Needledrop's review of Chance's The Big Day album
This is how Logic and Fantano should solely communicate from now on
It's actually infuriating how much Logic muddles his namesake by showing the most obtuse reasoning ability
Couldn’t have said it any better myself Mr. Sparrow!
All I want to know is why's the rum gone tho
reddit moment
That was the cleverest way to phrase the most straightforward insult.
Very funny though lol
Your sense of phrasing is exquisite
hitting me with an ad break after anthony fell for the ad in logic's video was next level
If you, like me, turned off the Super Bowl to watch Fantano respond to Logic - then it’s a good indicator you need to touch some grass
I only watched the superbowl at halftime lol
I played football at a 5A school in high school and even I know nfl football is ass
Isn't the most hyped thing about the superbowl the commercials ? Lol
@@ThatGuyReyansh def not
Fr, why would you turn on the Super Bowl
Crazy.. the man said "I got TH-cam premium" then I got an ad the same second
Damn. This was more eye-opening than Logic’s review of the review.
I actually want to see a review of the review of the review of the review from Logic
Same here. It'd be cool if they filmed the editor so we could catch him reviewing the review of the review of the review.
Bobby didn't mention the Tones and I review. THAT shit was savage haha
Just let it go, Logic.
Logic can’t even escape a negative review, even when its his review of Anthonys review
THANK YOU! Based response. I love Logic but sometimes he's so disingenuous and/or doesn't understand criticism.
Chance definitely should’ve ended it, but overall a great track on an album that didn’t have much.
throwin it back on Bobby
I think for me the biggest thing about negative reviews is their date of release. idk when you put yours out bc new fan, but it really bothers me when I read negative reviews for media before I get the chance to form my own opinion on it. if others around you are saying that x media is bad, when you go to listen to / watch / read x media on your own, your perception of it is going to be influenced already. I feel like allowing / encouraging viewers to try it out themselves first is a great way of showing respect to the artist and the listener. but also, ik thumbnails are important and also if you post a review a month late then less people will care. idk cheers love ur vids
an example: I went into the new Thor movie expecting it to be bad, and I was sitting there having to get over my own semi-conscious mental block that "people say this movie is bad, therefor I shouldn't like it" when I realized I was enjoying the movie.
well that seems like your problem really lol
@@pavlogorianskyi1249 yeah it's a human problem
This is great, the chemistry of this bromance wants me to literally see logic do this for forever 😆
It's called 'setting expectations' and I wish more folks would do just that......
@@hegeliandianetik2009 He's trying to police how people should review his music? You've honestly gotta be kidding me lol.
@@jackfoudray Yeah, telling a negative reviewer that their review drove you to suicidal thoughts is what exactly if not trying to police how your music should be reviewed?
@@hegeliandianetik2009 You must be an idiot or something. Telling someone how you reacted to their reviews is not policing them. If you had any functioning brain cells, you'd realize Logic has been pretty clear that he understands Fantano's job.
man the chemistry between these two is CRAZY 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 watching Fantano take sh*t for the sh*t he takes is just actually priceless tbh fr ngl
I love how this guy makes videos over 10 minutes long, not even for the ad revenue part, you can tell he just enjoys giving and receiving feedback and doing what he loves to do 😅
Fantano is using his alternative accounts to promote each other
I think the thing I like about logic is that he takes his criticism to heart which gives him authenticity, Someone needs to tell Logic that he just needs to be himself and appreciate his fans, ignoring all comparisons.
Logic is so soft bless him "that was one of the meanest things ive ever heard anyone say publicly" 🤣 jeez
Dunkey said something about that stupid comment he got as well "why are you reviewing something you seem not to like" you can't just continuously listen to play or watch the shit you know you like since then as a reviewer you have 0 value what context would we have if everyone just reviewed everything pefectly because they only review things they enjoy
i love how melon and logic are friends but it doesn't stop melon from calling logic's music trash when it's trash to his face. thats a good friend
I hope they never quit reviewing the reviews of the review
i looooove logic and i think sometimes with this scenario he didn’t really know how anthony thinks
Thanks Anthony, you’ve made me aware of new Logic album.
This type of back and forth must happen more on this channel. Absolute gold.
Logic's video was very lighthearted and loving, I'm a bit surprised you took issue with so much of it.
I think it's a little weird how Logic still think and care about Fantano he's way more into it than Anthony is, he made a whole song about Fantano without letting him know and now he makes this video unpromptedly
He’s obsessed
Logic is a good dude. He obviously doesn't like criticism to some extent. He's seeking and promoting liberation and coming from Logic, that's understandable.
Boy, Logic sure is one of the review reviewers of our time.
I'm surprised that someone who's as much of a music fan as Logic has such basic takes and opinions. Like, these are the lines someone who "likes everything but country and rap" uses.
honestly! like he can’t be thinking at such a surface level there’s no way
If you've worked with artists before, this isn't unusual.
I just learned about all the logic drama yesterday, but I have listened to College Park more than any other album EVER. So many good songs.
Depth is the exact definition of substance to digest,I personally do not listen to music without depth unless it's the most energetic beat with the most undeserving lyrics that I hate but the beats so good I can push the lyrics off, example:take a step back by ski mask.
