I'm from Oakland CA and that's not the way it is here. In the Bay Area there are tons of half-Filipino people here and they all embrace their culture. You meet half Mexican half Filipinos and Half black half Filipinos and they usually all seem to know their culture; so it's not as rare as you think
Filipino are hella prideful about being Filipino even part Filipinos. Like if you’re quarter Filipino you’re like hella proud to be it. Not rare at all.

In my family my mom cooks when my dad works and my dad cooks and bakes on the weekends. He’s been tweaking recipes to try and make the best gluten free bread!

That’s amazing. A dog walks in, and then later, a cat walks in. These animals instinctively know a great place to be! The Filipino food looked delicious. I photographed a Filipino couple a few years ago. They invited me to dinner one night to show their appreciation even though they were paying clients. This restaurant had Filipino food. It was delicious!

The one you had for lunch, we have the same thing here, it’s called “sala pao” here in Thailand. Usually the fillings are pork or beans
Here in the Philippines sala pao has mongo beans fillings but siopao has pork or beef
