These shows are awesome, lujack's death was heartwrenching & bert's courage after losing her leg was iconic.thanks again you tube for having these shows online so everyone can enjoy them.
John Bolger was great as Phillip, he wasn't Grant Alexander.. he didn't have that dangerous quality. But when they put him with Mary Kay Adams.. they sizzled.
Out of the last 4 videos I've watched tonight that I cried over, I cried over this one the most!...I agree with so many of these comments listed! So instead of replying to them, I'll give them thumbs up. I will say this, though, I think GA will always be Phillip, but I'm really starting to like John Bolger. Nice and reassuring smile. If I were in Beth's shoes, I'd cry on his shoulder, too, or Rick's. And I think it's very cool that he's the Scarecrow/Hunk's great nephew.
John Bolger was having to play a character ten years younger than he actually was. He didn't have that edge of fury that GA always portrayed, but he was awesome in his own way, especially in his chemistry with Mary Kay Adams.
I would like to see that. I loved Beth and LuJack. (I was 10 in 1985, so for me, I fell inlove w/ Beth/LuJack way before I fell in love with Beth and Philip. Beth and LuJack where Romeo and Juliette.
Good God, I remember sobbing my eyes out over this scene. I have two versions of the Lujack death scene on VHS...I am a glutton for punishment...and so sad...
I agree, but John Bolger's chemistry with Mary Kay Adams (India) was smoldering...remember that John Bolger replaced Grant Aleksander right after Phillip married India
They definitely had the chemistry.. Especially if you watch their relationship from the beginning. They were my favorite. I do love Judi Evans. She was an amazing Beth..
@@cathyspence218 I never watched GL and am just now getting into Lujack/Beth (didn't realize their story was so short 😢), but my impression of Philip as a character so far (no matter who was playing him) is smarmy.
Nobody else could play Beth with such raw emotions

blabbermouth beth and phiillip were romeo and juliette. Loved them together especially when grant aleksander and judi evans played them.

After Judi left GL I stuck around but when they brought in Beth Chamberlain to play beth it was horrible
