    I would very much like, and I hope I'm speaking for many here, if you made a video on the last remark regarding adding matte/shadow passes to takes and "render layers" in houdini. Those tricks are valuable in production and essential to rendering shit in a proper pipeline.

    Hi Saul, can you cut the reflection out on the ground plane with an alpha?

    hello,did you make a tut about the shader of diamond?

    The Matte shader has alpha also for reflection. I understand it's deprecated but how can I get the same result with the new RS object? I can't find any info about it.

    Hi.. Thank you for sharing that.. BTW i loved diamond shader..

    Hey! thanks for the video. One question, Why I don't see the Redshift OBJ parameters when selecting the object?
    Not sure what I am missing.

    • @javierverdugo2407
      @javierverdugo2407 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ok! I just figure out. Because I had a few obj with Redshift OBJ parameters and others without it.
      If you create a geo before creating Redshift render in output, it creates without it. And is not added after. So you basically need to create a new obj, and paste everything there. Hope it helps to anybody.

      @@javierverdugo2407 you can also use the self icon to add the obj spare parameters on any selected obj when you click it.

    question, With the matte enabled on any object, they still show up in the aovs. Any ways to exclude them all together?!!

    • @TheArtofSaul
      @TheArtofSaul  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, and why would you want to do that? From a compositing perspective you could just use the mask for those same matte objects to matte out any AOVs. This would let you keep the data just in case during comp but also allow you to matte it out if needed.
      The only AOV which has the matte option to be included is the Puzzle Matte AOV with the "include in puzzle-mattes" switch active. But for other data AOVs it might not be a good idea and would make more sense to "remove" it using a standard matte/mask in the compositing app based on an AOV like the Cryptomatte/puzzlematte/customAOV.

    how to render just the relfections in mantra? theres nothing in all the internet about it

    • @TheArtofSaul
      @TheArtofSaul  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These are redshift tutorials so I don’t know. You should ask in the mantra forums.

    Hi ! can i use this techinique to mask different shader using redshift material blender?I need to mask only specific part of an object

    • @TheArtofSaul
      @TheArtofSaul  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that is not what matte/hold out options are for, you need to make a custom AOV if you want to split out an individual shader from a shader blender.

    Any idea of how to make an extremely realistic render of a lego figure using redshift? like very minor imperfections and such. that seems to be the most troublesome thing for me at the moment

    • @TheArtofSaul
      @TheArtofSaul  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      TasteOfHey I would just focus on getting the materials looking right, lighting, depth of field and proper tone mapping. Lego blocks are plastic and like all plastics they have a subtle amount of sub surface scattering.
