  • who do you trust to cut legal migration?
Sir Keir Starmer has pledged to lower the level of legal migration if Labour gets into power at the next general election.
However, his shadow home secretary, Yvette Cooper, has refused to set a target on how many migrants Labour would let into the country.

You can’t trust Labour, who can’t answer the question, and the Conservatives have messed it up too. Only Nigel/ Reform Party could make a difference. We need an Australian type policy, only taking migrants who have skills we need and can support themselves.

More people are retiring than we have young people entering work
How can we replace retirees if we don't have enough young people and don't have immigration?
That's the question nobody ever seems to discuss

Young people cannot afford high rent and mortgage costs. They certainly can't afford children. So importing workers makes sense.

Because if we shrink the migration as well as the economy it'll balance out. Bear in mind all economists are wrong or they'd be working for hedge funds instead of teaching nonsense in universities.

Because if we don't, that's going to be very painful for a lot of people

You didn't really know how money works mate. Unless the immigrants come here and bring money with them or import goods it's not gonna make any difference. If people come here and do jobs in the NHS etc it doesn't make any difference, it's just the same money going round and round. The economy won't grow.. You need new money in the country. Not more people to give existing money to.

Labour haven’t a clue. They don’t let anyone know what they would exactly do, they just tell people what they want to hear and then do as they please.

We wouldn’t need so many people to work in the NHS if there wasn’t so many immigrants using it.

I agree, plus loads of immigrants coming here are not going to be working and are getting older so will need to use the NHS.

I've worked for the NHS for 4 years and can count on one hand how many people from another country I've seen or treated. Our NHS would collapse completely if we stop legal migration. Most of our staff are not born in the UK.

@@ItWasAcceptableInThe80s the point is that with the AMOUNT of people coming here it's not beneficial as with 700,000 coming in they'll need to use the NHS aswell,, immigrants treating immigrants! It has to slow down dramatically..

Also I believe on same show he was calling for David Beckham to be knighted,WHY he was just a overpaid footballers , how many world cups did he win , If anyone should be knighted it's people like Kevin Sinfield, I have more admiration for people tell them to stuff there honours

Not everyone wants to live in a concrete jungle!
I live in a lovely town, not as nice as in the 80s, but still relatively untouched by migrants, it is a lovely mix of town and country, reasonable amount of greenery still, it is on the river Severn, and i live on the one side of the river in a place known as "the village in a city ", my house is in a lovely area to, surrounded by greenery lovely trees, and a pathway and a little brook, hard to explain, but i am sure you get the picture!
Anyway they have already tried to build 6,000 new houses just up the road from me on some beautiful fields overlooking another body of water, tried for 2 years, and i kept thinking what idiots, as i knew it would never happen, and now they have called it off, as fortunately it is a flood plain!!
Most of our area's that are untouched are flood plains, and not quite enough room by me thank god!
Like i mentioned before not all of us want to be surrounded by wall to wall housing, that all looks the same, thanks very much!
Some of us like to live in a mix of town and country, somewhere with some character left!
      Seriously enough is enough!
