Great video with clear shots of the relevant parts and good commentary to support. For those of you wanting to have a go at this, I have just done it, and can't believe how easy it is. Literally only took me 30-40 minutes all up. I would just add a couple of points: Absolutely get the locking hose clamp pliers. Probably couldn't have done the job without them. They are really cheap online, and I had previously bought a pair knowing that I would have to do the job one day. Well worth it. While the AOS is still in the car, you only need to loosen the clamp on the elbow that goes into the car. Once you have loosened that you can remove the AOS with the elbow attached, and it is easier to remove the other clamp and swap the elbow on the bench. Same with putting back the new AOS, have the elbow already connected to the AOS, and then you can just slip the other end of the elbow in when you drop it into place Finally, remove the clip on the large oil line, that goes from the oil filler to the engine. this will allow you to pull out that hose and move it out of the way. This is a game changer and will give you so much more room to get your hands down towards the bottom of the AOS
Followed your video step-by-step, a lot of detail information in there and I appreciate every bit of it :-) thanks so much I will certainly try to buy parts from your website as a result.
Awesome I do have a question nothing related to oil air separator swap. I have a 987.1 the initial start up fine. I would drive for awhile but once I stop the car and restart. It struggles starting. Some forums suggest heater temperature. I tested the battery and it's good. Starter not making any noise.
@fcpeuro-media . I need advice please . I have 2009 Cayman S 987 7-speed Porsche double clutch (PDK) on 75000KM do i need to change the transmission oil and if so do i need to change the Gear filter with sump . thank you in advance
Fantastic videos but PLEASE STOP with the distracting music and show the process in real time, it’s much more helpful if we see that even you may have some difficulties. It also helps us to see and hear what we may be up against. Thanks!!!
Thank you for the note, the last link should be for just the o-ring to the valve, the seal portion was cutoff in text. The valve will be the first link in the description :)
Great video, as are all the 987 ones! Question is at 14:27 are you underneath the car doing this or blindly doing this from above the engine? Many thanks

I really love these DIY's I own one of these cars can you make a video on how to do the clutch and pressure plate.
FYI your Porsche 987 Crankcase Vent Valve link goes to an o-ring instead of the hose it should

Not seeing the link to buy the elbow to the block. Great video!
Just a question .. Which hose clamp pliers would you recommend for this job?
LIS-17100 & HAZ-7985 are both great options, a long with a few others over at FCPEuro.com!
Is the 987.2 very different?
Yes that will be a totally different setup, something we can cover in the future for sure.
