It really is, for my friends who haven’t wargamed at all I left out morale for the first game or two. Easy enough game to teach and play at the same time
From what I understand after reading the rules, I think you guys made a couple mistakes. I am pretty sure that you don't roll for shaken/death for your heroes until their toughness threshold is met. Stunned also does not mean the model/unit is fatigued. The first melee for that model/unit would still be a regular quality check. Edit: Also, after melee ends, the charging unit must separate by moving back an inch (they are no longer engaged).
Yep you're right.... Shaken/Knocked out is a "wound effect" and Tough(X) rules says "This model only rolls to check wound effects once it has taken at least X wounds, and is only Knocked Out on rolls of 5+X or more. Example: A model with Tough(3) only rolls for wound effects once it has taken 3 wounds or more, and is Knocked Out on rolls of 8+."
There were a lot of mistakes that really swung the game, you had the human champion with the dog strike back with Furious. That's not possible (its only on the charge). And when your main guy killed the odabin you had the morale check before the strike back, I am pretty sure morale checks happen at the end of the round, he should still get a strike back regardless.
After a melee fight, if both are still alive, the attacker moves back an inch, out of engagement. Models don't stay engaged, so every time you attack, you are charging. You only don't get furious when defending.
I don't know much about the game so this means nothing but the penguins do not seem as powerful as the humans. Could be strategy, tactics and dice rolls but the -1 to dice rolls feels very overpowered. I am still looking forward to reading through these rules.
I don’t know where Ash was getting the -1 ability that isn’t a rule that the Human Empire has normally. I didn’t see if he got some special ability from a previous game but it for sure made him more powerful than he should have been. The pet dog also should have giving him Warning cry meaning those penguins had to be further than 12 inches from him from their scout.
@@jeremyherndon2974 @chaoshead87 I am pretty sure this is the campaign rules. For each 10 point difference between warbands, the underdog can influence one dice roll by +/- 1.
Frankly I’m just really happy to see another wargame using the penguin models.
Excellent batrep and campaign! Thanks for posting!
Nice report.. Looks fun and easy to play

The world needs more ...penguins!

What happened to the rest of these? Are you still going to put out One Page Rules games?

Penguins aren't as powerful as humans. I could kick the shite out of a penguin.
