I absolutely hate this time of the year, it's not that cold and days are a little longer but it's still gloomy, foggy and miserable most days. Any kind of celebration would definitely be welcome and cheer me up. Makeup feels exactly like you described it, still wintery but with a touch of hope given by the spring-ish pastely eyeshadow, lovely!
I’m a practicing witch and I absolutely LOVE that you’re taking inspiration from the Wheel of the Year holidays! This is ethereal and gorgeous and I hope you do more if inspiration strikes you! 💚
This is kind of a bluer, more muted version of my favorite color combination that I discovered this year, which is neon chartreuse and oxblood. Gorgeous colors for you. I like the overlapping of application and thematic talk! It felt very natural and at ease.
One of my favorite videos of yours I've seen until now 🤍☕ loved every aspect of it. I'm just lately learning to embrace my inner self and connect with nature, so I'm learning how to celebrate each natural "stage" and honor what it brings us. This video was very helpful
Hello! I enjoy your videos. I've been listening to Witches' Song while recalling the season of my youth. I am a fan of Cosmic Brushes. Your look with Nancy and Undergrowth is very inspiring. Winter to Spring, thank you for the lovely post about Imbolc, Debra
Oh no, winter is almost over! I'm going to miss this dark season of hibernation. My spirit animal is literally a bear. My nickname is Haydee Bear. I so love coming home and warming with warm tea and getting cozy at night with soft and fluffy blankets. I sleep so much better in the wintertime 😴
Omg I love this look for one, and also I live like a half hour away from Chestnut Ridge Park’s eternal flame??? 🔥 so cool to see, you’ll love it 😊 a blessed imbloc!
This time of year is always a little...sad...for me (for reasons I won't go into) My bday is the first week in Feb & it's always been a craptastic time of year for anything celebratory. I've always envied people with bdays in Spring/Summer & Fall since there is more to do (beach/pool parties) & everyone is already in a celebrating type of mood due to the time of year & proximity to other holidays. February has Valentine's Day which many people do not enjoy. But Imbolc & the symbolism behind it is comforting to me. Beautiful look as always 💚💜
Woke up in a bit of a funk today, so the aesthetic of light coming out of darkness was just what I needed! ❤ I also really enjoyed learning about Imbolc. Makeup + thematic exploration = perfect! Thank you. 😊
I really needed this video today. Thank you, Evangeline. I have been going through a rough time at work -- this toxic job needs to come to an end soon, but I have to find a new job first. It's a retail job, so my schedule is very inconsistent and it's hard to slow down and pause. It's hard to get in the mood for Imbolc. I've thought a lot about what you said in your YT update video about this time of year and the value of time, it's been stewing inside of me. I love makeup but I often feel vain or guilty about it since I don't know anyone IRL like us with the passion for it. This was such a beautiful combination and I love your creativity. This got me in the mood for Imbolc. As for celebrating, I always thought it meant "ewe's milk." Imbolc is one of my favorite Pagan sabbats. This year is harder though. I usually do a tarot reading from my favorite tarot book "Tarot for All Seasons" by Christine Jette and the rituals she recommends in there.
Omg the eternal flame! I hike there often. It’s really cool to see and the woods are honestly magical. I feel like fairies live there! Thank you for being so colorful and bright in a sea of beige. You continue to inspire!
I love this video so much! It inspired me to dye my hair for the first time in over a month because I have been feeling some SAD feelings. I also loved inter- playing the theme throughout the whole video. This was such a lovely video thank you for your presence online.
Hi, new subsriber here! I love the more artistic aproach to makeup, with the Pre-Raphaelite videos, the seasons and the essences. It feels really authentic and inspiring!
How timely! I’m not familiar with Imbolc, (but I’m sure my partner is) but it really resonates with me and how I traditionally feel as February begins. I always feel hopeful, like Spring is in sight and love and inspiration fills the air. I love the color palette of the Brigid’s Crosses you showed. I love a soft green eye, and that lip is a longtime favorite of mine, burgundy with brown undertones that’s sheer. MAC Desire was a sheer purple, and I love Ember by Glossier for the same easy effect. I really want the Lovers palette from Cosmic beauty. How fun to watch you use it!
this is actually a grim time of year for me, because i have summer depression. the end of winter and the longer days are quite difficult. i live somewhere without much of a spring and it’s already getting quite warm after a nicely chilly winter. i try to keep a cool vibe going as long as possible, but in february i do a lot of red and pink because i like the aesthetics of valentine’s day even though i don’t really celebrate it in any commercial way. for me (mentally) spring is more march into april, and i bring out the floral inspired colors for may.
ok wait, I need to try this sheer smoky purple lip combo immediately. plus the soft seafoam green sparkly eyes. I’m obsessed. this is a fun video and I learned something new 🫶🏻
A few additional thoughts on Imbolc as a practicing pagan and ancestor of the lands. Imbolc symbolizes the first returns of light and is/was celebrated as a reminder to tend to the things inside the home in preparation for the return of Spring during Ostara. The lambs were not yet birthing, but would begin to lactate showing signs that birth was coming in the months ahead. A time to be in the belly of darkness but to prepare and look toward the return of light harolding the earth to awaken in the weeks ahead as we approach Ostara. Edited to add: if you are feeling far from ready for the land to awaken, today is the day to gather more firewood and provisions to ward off the long winter days still ahead and give yourself the time you need to prepare.
Great video! I think of crocus flowers peeping out. I have a single shimmer in a lilac to slight warm pink shift. Fun fact: Lithuania is the last European country to convert to Christianity. However, there is a lot less pagan remains compared to other countries. Perhaps more abrupt and forceful conversion? Check out the Lithuanian folklore story Egle the serpent queen, I think you'd enjoy it!
@evangelinemolly yes, the reclamation was stalled during the Cold War but has picked up momentum again. Lithuanian paganism draws from Hinduism, and the Lithuanian language is related to Sanskrit. It's an interesting Indo-European culture!

Yes it’s kind of awful. In some ways, I hate April even more though because it’s like… c’mon already!! 😂

Wonderful. I love greens with m blue eyes! Love listening to you.

My spirit animal is also a bear and my nickname as a kid was Sarah-Beara. I didn’t realize that until your comment. Cool.
@sarahmccord7767 that is so cool! 🤗❤️

Only you could have me wanting a grey lip gloss 😂
Big love !!! This inspired me, I’m gonna do some green/brown looks next week !! Happy Imbolc !!

Love, love, love your thematic chats blended with experimenting with new makeup looks. You're my favorite beauty creatrix by far! Happy Imbolc! 🌱
Sooo pretty!
Blessed Imbloc! Oh, and rabbit rabbit rabbit. ❤ give Toasty my love, too ❤
You reminded me to pay rent 😂
@evangelinemolly ugh.... me too ☹️

I can’t wait to go!! Hopefully I’ll get a chance to drive there this summer and explore the whole Finger Lakes area!
I really like themes and learning something besides make-up! :)
Yay! It makes it even more fun for me
Gosh I always think you were blessed with the most eyecatching lashes ❤

Thank you! I love to hear that! 🥰💕
One of my favorite holidays!!! Beltane is my absolute fav.

Yes! It wasn’t my original idea to pair the green with the lip but I had the palette in front of me and was like, “what a cool combination!”
This kind of reminds me of Persephone!
Ooh I love this look!! The eyeshadow is so stunning!✨
I didn't know about this holiday, LOVE everything about it. And also , the sagey green eyelook is great ❤
It's my favorite - well sorta I was born on Mabon 😂 so it's a hard second. ❤
Yes, a great time to feel a little bit of optimism and reflect on the beauty that’s to come! ☀️
Very pretty, good week-end
🔥
The lip tints from sushyglow are my favorite I’ve ever tried!!!! They’re so versatile I use them like super longwear lip liners
Ooh I love the idea of using them as liners too! I tried the shade Lovesick and it’s oh so vampy, yet warm!
Where did you get that beautiful mirror?
Hi, I absolutely love January, the darkness, the mystery and the peace, but I am Capricorn… I love your idea to explore pagan holidays..please

That’s interesting! I wonder if they have more relics to learn more about Paganism since so much of it was wiped out 😢
