After ed gets off bike and you hear " I'm okay , I'm okay" we all know that feeling 😅 worst and best feeling in cycling st thr same time , emptied the tank
@@nop4782 I know the guy as he lives locally. He's definitely big for a cyclist. Procyclingstats lists him at 189cm and 75kgs. Maybe he recently went on a severe diet to get his weight down for the recent UCI esports WC's? Where he came 9th btw :)
Wow! I've never seen someone bury him/herself like that on Zwift before. Well done! A couple things I've noticed as I've been watching replays of your streams. You tend to occasionally burn an unnecessary match in a part of the race where it's unlikely to force a break. There was one time on the southern coast road a few km before the sprint. I don't know if that affected you for the Grade, but I was silently yelling at my screen for you to stay in the draft, haha. The other was I thought you were holding back the draft van for the descent since it seems to be your bane on this course. I figured you would hit it as soon as the Swedish rider got around you. Maybe it would've kept you in his draft, but maybe not. All said, it's easy to armchair analyze in hindsight 🙃 Anyway, once again great effort! I look forward to the next one!
I analyse the race too. Easier to do it after the fact rather than at 180bpm! That little effort didn't affect me for The Grade, hardly burnt a match at all. From what I can gather the van wouldn't have helped on the descent, I need to supertuck.
@@Jesse-1993 I disagree. Find space and supertuck. Ed would have saved energy by simply not trying to find draft, just hit supertuck and punch on uphills, you can see he recovers once he stops trying to get draft. Sure he could try make time like I did, but for him those kickers go twice as fast 😆
Intense, what a courageous effort. Way to hold off that group chasing. Unreal determination and tenacity. Great job, Ed.
Thanks 👍
That last 9km is what separates really good riders and champions. Good luck at nationals.
I hope so! Thank you!

Well done on the race! Looked brutal! Man Ollie Jones must be a watt monster on the climbs as he's a big guy.
Is 71kg big for a cyclist?
@@nop4782 He's more like 6ft2 and 76kgs so yes that's quite a big for a cyclist who can still ride up hills fast.
@@switeshis average watts was 379 divide that by his w/kg you get 71,5 kg

@@edlaverackI guess I was looking at it from a perspective of if it was me, but I race in a whole different world 😂.
Well done again!
Epic effort, that was a blast to watch from my nice comfy seat.
🤯 Amazing effort. 😅 Thanks for sharing it with us!
Incredible effort. 💪
Thank you so much 😀
Watch Josh Harris' recap of the epic descent, he's got that nailed.
I yell at Ed through my phone "Stop pedalling!!!" When he is trying to close the gap on descent 😂
That descent is one of the most horrible things in Watopia though 😅

Thanks lads! I will do some freakin’ homework😂
Thanks!
Fix you'r bike ED! if you can't stand up and sprint on those down hill kick's you'r not going to hang on the wheels
Ofc an amazing effort ed! a machine is what you are! Inspiration!

Blimey, haha
I want to hear an explanation from Zwift why you can’t hold the wheel on descents! Ridiculous
Because I’m useless😂
@@edlaverack you must be close in weight with other riders so you should be able to free wheel in the draft.
Thanks
Thank you!
58km/h...stop pedalling downhill. Super tuck will take you down faster. Kick harder uphill on that descent
Thanks for the input!
