  • Usually we are very happy with Proaim products, but this was not one of those times. With $7000 invested in our first jib, it instantly started falling apart.
Some brainiac engineer put it together with aluminum bolts. HUH?
Yeah, you heard it right, aluminum bolts breaking left and right while it just sat in a corner. Each day we would go back and see another bolt that just broke and fell on the floor.
OMG, can you imagine taking this on a job and having it falling apart as you use it?
Sorry Proaim, this one was a miss. We cannot recommend this to anyone. But if you do have one of these 17 foot scissor jibs, we can tell you how to fix it with the proper bolts.
Check out the video and see how we repaired it, for now.
Don't forget to subscribe to see lots more reviews and DIY projects that will save you money, time and make you look like a pro without breaking the bank.

    Hello,
Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused. Regarding the aluminum bolts breaking off, we addressed the issue long back. We replaced the Aluminium Bolts with Stainless Steel Bolts and have only heard positive feedback.
We also replaced the aluminum bolts with stainless steel bolts free of cost for any customer who reached out to us. Kindly let us know your email address; we will happily send you the SS bolts.
    Team Proaim

First, I love ProAim products, well most of them. I have spent tens of thousands on ProAim equipment and have no issues 99% of the time. Support has always been spot on during purchases and shipping.
But you guys do need to step up quality control. Getting defective parts and having to fix them sucks. I am sure I could send them back, that is even more time and money.
I did fix my jib as demonstrated in the video "how to replace bolts", so I don't need them right now.
But I would be happy to accept a credit toward future purchases. I continue to buy your products, but I have to call you out when something is not right, otherwise people will not value my opinion or trust what I say.
And Mr Dog Poop has a stellar reputation to uphold...LOL

Watch our review video and we beak down the cost. th-cam.com/video/Z2iOz0cNs2c/w-d-xo.html
It is not cheap! But overall cost depends on how much you need.

Did this happen on both your jibs? Do you have a link or parts number for the shoulder bolts? This video has given me the fear.

The thing is, it only happened on one that I bought during the pandemic. So maybe it was a fluke.
The bolts literally popped off just sitting in a corner of the studio.
The replacement bolts are available from many sources, just get the size we suggested in the video.
I think if you carry a couple regular bolts with it, it something breaks, you can at least stick something else in to do the job.
Even without the nuts, it will still function since the main shaft is still in place, but you should be aware, just in case.
Have you had good results with the jib?

@@mrdogpoopstudios Actually, I haven't used it yet. Looking forward to getting it out there. Only picked up the weight plates this week.

It is a really cool piece of equipment if you can use it. I remember how excited I was when I bought it, but then we never used it.
