I think you should include tomatoes and peppers on your continuously harvested list. Take tomato cuttings periodically and root them in water. And the pepper plants last for years! Keep them selectively pruned. IMHO. You are an inspiration!!!

LOL! You are correct again. I did "passive" Kratky hydro first, then moved to lettuces, bok choy, etc before venturing on by upping my nutrient game to grow tomatoes, eggplant and the more challenging stuff. Next step is Ph and EC readings!
9b microclimate makes it easier.
I have grown microdwarf tomatoes for 189 days straight... zero pH or solids readings... you CAN do that stuff...but you don't NEED to.

My large red cherry tomato plants are going strong close to 3 months. Seems the larger the container, the better the results (with tomatoes). What nutrients do you use?

I just found your channel and watched one video. I’m going to try your method, but I have a secret to share. I took the science class plants and society and college and so I’ve always been interested in growing and I had a thriving garden that was planted in the ground but one thing that I did was I used a certain kind of water google it you’ll see what I mean. It’s called blue solar water, you make it by putting water in a glass blue jar and letting the sun rays do their thing with the water. They tell us to drink it because there’s healing in the water through the color therapy all made by the sun anyhow are used this water in addition to my water system that was hooked up in my garden. I had all of my friends and neighbors telling me the taste of my vegetables With the best tasting vegetables they’ve ever had in their life and it’s true. They grew massive fast. It was amazing and this is exactly what they say. Blue solar water does for us when we drink it and our bodies, but you should try putting blue solar water, and some of your buckets With the plant food and see if your results skyrocket beyond what they already are. My results were a massive guarantee. It was insane, but that’s what they say happens when we drink it in our bodies, the sons raise, and color therapy are real and plants just like humans absolutely can benefit ☀️ I hope you try it. Meanwhile, I’m gonna go get myself 25 buckets
We only have like 3-4 months where we could grow tomatoes in our country, so the only system I am interested in learning right now is Grow Tent with optimal grow lights and the simplest setup with the least amount of cleaning etc.
Love your video's I've learned so much about hydroponic's the past 8 month's I've invested in 3 Idoo gardens then moved up to the Kratky method for my lettuce, bok choy, spinach and herbs, thanks so much :)

Well.thanks for what you do,, I have enjoyed it. Jumped in this year made some downspouts and 3 buckets with tomatoes and it's been fun so far. And my son loves salad even more with the microgreens on top.

Thanks for the great videos. Im in SWFL and rainy season is starting up, how do you deal with all the rain and kratky downspout gutters during this time. The pool noodles seem to leach to much water into the system and keep filling up. Are you covering all of them during this time?
The ladder system is under the overhang of the house. I grow mostly fast maturing greens and it doesn't bother it much.

I am working on a nutrient video now. I did not use Miracle Gro though.
I like the idea of the downspout, so what is the advantage of the big buckets you're using here? That's a lot of nutrient, kinda wasted isn't it? More plants in the downspout too.
Not a waste. Imagine traditional soil garden and how much water and fertilizer is lost just to runoff. There are several benefits to the extra mass.

Do you paint your white buckets or leave em white? curious as im starting a similar journey and im slightly worried about algae and root rot from high temps.
You will have to make up your own mind. I do not, but most do. I do not worry about algae like most. If these worry you, then you probably should avoid them.

Not really, you can experiment. I would go with their Aerogarden nutrients, made for hydroponics.

I do for greens
A 5 gallon bucket will hold up to 2 tomato plants for 9 months and yielding starts at 3 to 4 months depending on how well you build up the nutrient base. Sometimes I ease the plant into the cal-nit, Epsom salt, and masterblend with a half dilution instead of a 10g, 5g, 10g per 5 gallons i cut it in half. Yes, that is such a small amount of nutrient, imagine how long your nutrients will last if you buy 5 lbs of each and use 10g, 5g, 10g per 5 gallon bucket? Feeding 5 gallons to 39 plants every 3 weeks? Get the picture? You talk about water conservation!
I wish anyone liked eating leafs, its rabbit food and does not taste any good. I would rather do tomatoes, even if I had to fail sometimes.
That's your personal opinion. Lots of people love greens and they are a necessary part of our diet. Some people grow and eat what they need and not just what they want. My wife can not eat tomatoes.
