- Join us for our Padstow Cornwall UK Tour. This gorgeous harbour town has a lovely busy atmosphere, and you can find many nice restaurants and cafes here. It's on the same part of the Cornish coast as Port Isaac, Newquay and Tintagel. Our Padstow tour takes the harbour with it's brightly coloured fishing boats and busy eateries. We'll then explore the winding streets of the charming town, with their welcoming pubs, shops and Cornish pasty shops, before heading back to the harbour for a wide look out to sea. I love it there. I went in Rick Steins's place, saw the price list and went to "Chip Ahoy" instead. Walked back to Rick's , sat and ate enjoying the view.

I was having a pint or two in the London Inn with my dad...who lived in Padstow...on the night that the Fastnet yacht disaster happened...a couple of the lifeboat crew were also there having a pint...when the maroons went off..those lifeboat men were out of the pub like lightening heading towards the lifeboat station....brave men !!!!!!! and if you google ...Fastnet Yacht Race disaster...you can read the rest of the story..

Ah it all felt very safe and welcoming!
I’m single myself but it does get very lonely when your at busy places, & you see couples. I go to quite a few events & places. If I go alone it’s not nice. Visited Weston’s sea shanty festival last year……. Ended up coming away early. Coz their was so many people in pairs & couples. I felt so sad & lonely.

Thankyou for this wonderful journey ! I am trying to find the Seaman’s Mission down by the harbour, my Father built it many years ago, and now I think it is a Museum….every generation of our family have had photos taken in the steps outside it . Please if anybody remembers it could they tell me as I am interested to find out if it is still standing. Thank you.❤️🇬🇧

Though still a physically pretty place the charm I remember from years ago has disappeared into a plastic replica of tourism. It may still have remnants of it's old self either in the off season or just on the cusp of high season. I think I would be very disappointed should I ever have the chance to return.
Interesting to hear that Mark. Perhaps it’s gone the way of so many pretty towns, their prettiness can be their downfall. We only visited for the day and we rather enjoyed it, but I can imagine it would have been very special at that time you speak of. Thanks for dropping by with your point of view.
@@LivingWalks I felt somewhat regretful after I posted. Unfortunately I forgot that each person sees things from a particular point of time and events. What one person sees at any given time is what they hold on to and to adapt to changing situations and environments is what makes life so enjoyable. I will have to remember to tell myself that it is not only the place that has changed, but I have as well. Thankyou for giving me the chance to reflect and grow.
I have a Question. With all those DOGS 🐩🐕🦮🐕🦺🐕, & I saw one🐈, what is done about all their POO? There were few green spaces so it would surely be a problem of major proportions. I cannot understand why the Council allows all those dogs to accompany the visitors and locals. There must be other issues like dogs fighting, pulling owners over who can't control them etc. etc. The mind boggles! Nice tour thank you. Also liked seeing the sensible people with 😷😷😷on. Hi Linda, a there are a lot of dog poo waste bins and people carry poo bags, so it's not generally a problem! We do seem to be a nation of dog lovers, so rest assured I think all is well. Pleased you're enjoying the walks.

Good morning Don, yes it sure was busy, more so than the other Cornish towns for some reason. We did enjoy a rather nice cornish pasty and a local ice cream, so we're quite relaxed just eating and people watching. Hope all's well with you?
