【淡路島モンキーセンター】みかん祭り Mandarin orange festival 2025.1

『サル文字』を作ることができるニホンザルとして知られている淡路ザル。
彼らは高い寛容性を持っているそうで、優劣関係なく横に並んでエサを食べることができます。
淡路島モンキーセンターでは、毎日夕方のエサ時間に通常のエサに加えて「サツマイモ」や「リンゴ」などがデザートとして与えられています。
お正月期間中は、連日お年玉として籠いっぱいの「みかん」が振舞われました。
センター長さんが籠からみかんを出すと、一斉にサル達が取りに行きます。
上位のサル達はいつも先に大きなデザートをもらっているので、「みかん祭り」のようなイレギュラーなイベント時には出遅れがち。
どうやら今回も上位のサル達は動きの素早い他のサル達に、先を越されたみたいです。
【淡路島モンキーセンター】の淡路ザル達に魅了され、淡路ザルにたくさん会いたくて淡路島へ移住しました。
サル達の行動を観察していると可愛いだけではなく、面白かったり、時に感動することもあります。
Instagramにも投稿していますが、投稿しきれない動画もたくさんあるので、TH-camでも投稿しています。
スマホでの撮影の為、綺麗な画像ではありませんが、少しでもモンキーセンターの魅力がお伝えできれば幸いです。

Awaji macaques are known as Japanese macaques that can make "monkey characters".
They seem to have a high level of tolerance, and can eat food side by side regardless of who is superior or inferior.
At the Awajishima Monkey Center, sweet potatoes and apples are given as dessert in addition to regular food every evening during feeding time.
During the New Year period, baskets full of ``mandarin oranges'' were given out as New Year's gifts every day.
When the center director takes out the oranges from the basket, all the monkeys go to get them.
The monkeys at the top always receive a large dessert first, so they tend to be late during irregular events like the ``Mikan Festival.''
Apparently, this time as well, the monkeys in the top ranks were surpassed by the faster-moving monkeys.
I was fascinated by the Awaji monkeys at the Awaji Island Monkey Center and moved to Awaji Island because I wanted to see as many monkeys as possible.
Observing the monkeys' behavior is not only cute, but also interesting and sometimes even moving.

The images are not very good as they were taken with a smartphone, but I hope I was able to convey even a little bit of the charm of the Monkey Center.
