Would be better if the dam was removed. Fish ladders are a waste of money. Ask the state of Connecticut. After 40 years they are lucky to have maybe 10 fish that make it to spawn on the Farmington river.
Lake fishing champlain for salmon you atleast know people arent snagging fish like they do in the fall on the salmon river and at the OAK..atlantics i call unicorns cause in my eyes there rare and i have hooked one but have never landed one yet!!! And there just so cool and pretty, they can spawn multiple times and love to jump when hooked and there colors!!!...theres a place in iceland or greenland i believe it is were atlantics go to spawn and at one spot of there journey theres a 12 foot waterfall they have to pass and they do!!!!!...nothing will stop a spawning salmon there on a mission...unless your a snagger😂
Lakers will decimate them. Way to Many other predatory fish in Champlain to allow this to work. Take a look at Sabago lake in Maine. It’s a lost cause.

Aren't they supposed to spawn in the river not the lake?
