Autonomous Maintenance Using Industry 4 and AI

Many companies recognize the benefits of autonomous maintenance but struggle to implement it for a variety of reasons.
In this hypothetical example, the company used technology to knock down the roadblocks.
There were three main steps to facilitating the transition:
The first was a review of all the preventive maintenance tasks to see which of them could be performed by the operators
The second was to extend the integration between the IoT system and the maintenance management system (MMS)
Finally, the IoT system functionality was extended to support the autonomous maintenance program.
With these changes in place, the company began to roll out the program across the floor one station at a time. Over the course of a few months, all of the primary operations were covered by the initiative.
