    I don't think so. I already watch some shonens,but power system in DanDaDan truly amazes me. Like how realistically the character would react,would improve and how would they handled it..
    Also, don't forget about Momo. I don't think she's the main love interest like any other animes because "IM THE FIRST GIRL IN THE GROUP!" but what's make it really interesting that Yukinobu also brings out Momo's character and her battle IQ in every arc. I love Okarun and Momo sooo much. I am truly mesmerized how Yukinobu Tatsu manages to breathe his characters to life in DanDaDan.

      @asleepyanarchy8281 completely agree, he builds the character up super well, making all of them likeable in the end, momo is a straight up pimp, love her, and so is Ken.

    I am at episode 11 right now. And I already know that I'm gonna watch episode 12 when it's out and then forget about the show.
    When I first watched Dandadan I saw a lot of potential in it. The animation was really good and the premise was interesting and unique, yet familiar enough to get me interested in it's development.
    But then the second episode came... and I just couldn't handle how the characters talk to each other for some reason. Every second of their dialogue felt unnatural and like it was trying to be natural too hard at the same time. It was trying to keep it entartaining and quirky, while simultaneously making it natural and realistic. And it failed in all of those things for me, but I kept watching, hoping to see more to it. Close to the second episode's end I got a feeling that everything was happening because it was required so to progress the plot and not because it was a real situation with real stakes at place. The fight felt pretty underwelming to me as well, as seing a regular highschool girl get repeatedly smashed into a wall and then walk it off without any injuries just solidified my feeling about the show not having any real stakes.
    Episode three did not sparked my interest either and the feeling of dialogue being forced did not disapear, so I began to think about dropping the show.
    Episode four was pretty cool tho! So, I got lost in the amazing animation and forgot about any concerns I had because of the previous episodes...
    Episode 5 was the most painfull episode so far. The whole romance subplot felt not only forced by the author's hand but INTENTIONALLY so drawn out into eternity, that I found myself constantly checking my phone and remembering that I need to wash dishes.
    Episode 6 picked up the pace a bit, and although that feeling of detachment had not go anywhere, it was an alright episode overall.
    Episode 7 was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL tho! I can talk about it for ages, so I'll just say that it's a shame that the entire show was not able to keep up to it's height.
    Aaaand episode 8 was the turning point for me. The way the author forced and guided the story and characters into the direction it needed to go felt even more unnatural and forced and all of the romance felt incredebly cliche and borring.
    After that I was not able to recover any real interest in the show as I watched episodes 9 and 10. Even though animation was cool, no amount of it was able to save the story for me at that point. I watche on and on, feeling myself checking out more and more, as the characters felt more and more boring and consequence-free to me.
    As I watched Jiji's introduction and his abnoxious mannerisms in episode 11 I didn't feel any annoyance, or interest, or anger. I completely lost any and all interest in the story's progression. Maybe the show will be able to get better in the future and rise up to it's highest moment with more episode 7 alikes, but I sure won't be there to see it.
    If anything, Dandadan made me want to rewatch Mob Psycho 100 again. It feels to me like that show does the same Dandadan was trying to do, while actually succeding at it.

      I can respect and understand where you are coming from, but for me, I acknowledged when watching the show that Momo was getting thrown into the wall and should have been killed immediately, but I personally just wrote it off, Shonens aren't really based in reality or anything, and I just figured she's has supernatural powers so she probably has supernatural strength, as well. and later on Turbo Granny even says, ya'll are lucky you have powers because a normal person would have been dead. just cause they are super humans, I don't think that means they're is NO stakes, but it's a fun shonen comedy anime so no ones really expecting the main character to up and get brutally murders or anything, thats more of a Sienen thing. I also don't feel the romance or comedy is forced, I feel they have extremely high charisma and the characters are built up and shown in a natural way, and the conversations and character dynamics are interesting and flow well with the tone of the story. I always love when Momo and Ken are on the screen together, they bounce of each other well, and both don't take no shit.
      your comment definitely inspires me to write a bit more in-depth reviews lol.

      @@oppaiduck4348 Yeah, I get how it is a shonen thing and how you can just write it off.
      The problem for me personally is that, when in Jujutsu Kaisen, for example, Yuji was jumping three stories high and breaking through walls like nothing I had no problem with that, but when Megumi was thrown through walls and not reacting to it at all, it has taken me out of the story. Because with Yuji, it was clearly established early on how he is superhuman in terms of his abilities, while with Megumi that was never the case.
      Same with Dandadan. When Ken is moving with the speed of sound but then starts vomiting blood because his body is too weak to move as such superhuman speed, it is explained in the moment and makes sense. It doesn't take me out of the story. But when Momo suddenly has superhuman endurance with her psychic hand powers and it is not acknowledged or foreshadowed at all, that just makes me feel like that can happen in any other moment with any other character for plot convenience.
      Which of course makes me feel like the story doesn't really have stakes and that it IS in fact a fictional story guided by an authors hand and not something happening right now.
      As for the romance, I just couldn't handle that scene with Ken and Momo wandering around the school, looking for each other, just to then bump into each other and do that "accidental" kiss. Because, again, that kiss was not "accidental". It was guided by the author and it has taken me out of the story again. Not mentioning that the whole sequence felt incredibly drawn out.
      It kinda felt to me like that typical anime trope of a dude falling on a girl and "accidentally" grabbing her boob in the process. And not in a fanservice or objectifying way. But in a way of the author making it happen for the sake of it.
      The Ken x Momo romance is full of moments like that. That's why it has culminated in the episode 8 for me with the whole misunderstanding Aira kiss thing and got worse the more I watched.
      Maybe typical shonen is just not my thing in general. My favorite shonens ARE Attack on Titan, Hunter x Hunter and Chainsaw man after all. But I still am trying to be open to new things.
      It's not like I intentionally trying to find inconsistencies and tropes in the story to be annoyed about, lol.) It is not really my fault that those elements in typical shonen stories is what takes me out of them and makes me feel that way. As an author I just kinda see a missed opportunity to do them a little better every single time, I suppose. :/
      Glad I was able to inspire you btw! :)

      Nah, honestly. It's a bad anime. People like it because of it's quirkiness, main couple moments like naked on top of each other and episode 7. Overall storyline is just bad. It's simply bad. It's not showing anything. If you're going to show a character shy, then keep it that way until the person is actually comfortable. Make it make realistic to some degree. I get that it's fiction and an anime but it doesn't have to do shit that's completely unnatural. There's a different betwen unnatural and unrealistic.

      They could have just chosen to drug her, but it was an aphrodisiac to make it plausible, why she was getting turned on by it.
      They could have just shown her clothes on the floor to explain, that the aliens stripped her, but instead they put us in the predators point of view, giving us a full frontal slowly sliding over her scantaly clad body.
      They could have went with the classical probing trope and went for mechanical tools, instead they chose to sexualize it, by making it phallic shaped things coming out of the aliens crotch area.
      They used effectively 20% of the first episode to show HER part in great detail, while HE got a few seconds of black screen.
      The aliens explained, that they wanted her uterus to fertilize it and cut it out to reproduce, why did they need to thrust their phallic probes coming out of their crotches into her in the first place, if they were going to cut it out anyways? Not for sexualization i guess?
      And why the weird banana jokes ontop of such a serious topic?
      And then they needed 4 ?! Episodes to catch up on that? (can't tell because i stopped watching that r*** fantasy halfway into the first episode)
      So if you think there is no sexualization and fanservice that's on you, but there definetely is and it is a deliberate choice made by all people involved in production.
      And no, I don't have any real fave anime of this season that i could be mad about getting less attention, but I have been a victim of seggsual assault and watching that blatant tasteless scene partially shot out of the predators point of view for now other reason than to show a horny underage , almost nakes girl, was simply disgusting.

      can't see my previous answer anymore so I'll try again:
      1.) Aliens could have just drugged her, instead the creators made the delibarate choice to use an aphrodisiac to explain why she would be horny, "getting hot" and might like it
      -> sexualization
      2.) They could have just shown her clothes on the floor, instead we got a full frontal view panning over her scantily clad body SEVERAL TIMES out of the predatorial aliens view
      -> sexualization
      3.) They could have gone for the classic probing trope, using mechanical devices, instead they got phallic shaped probes growing out of the aliens crotches
      -> sexualization
      4.) She got a 3 Minute scene being abused, while he got a few seconds of black screen (not saying that I want his scene to be just as explicit, rather the other way around)
      -> Sexism
      5.) The aliens claimed to want to cut out her fertilized Uterus to grow a new alien. If that was their plan to begin with, why do they even have to go through the whole "thrusting their phallic probes coming out of their crotches into her as if they were actually gra**** her", instead of just cutting it out and artificially inseminating the egg? It's not like this is an actual real life possibility for women...
      -> Sexualization
      So yeah, this whole scene is just in very poor taste and solely to sexualize the female protagonist in a twisted way of fanservice.
      Something the author even admitted to do for shock value...
      And since i stopped watching this series after that scene i didn't even make it to the resolution 4 (?!) Episodes later...

      You put dandadan and overrated in caps which could make people click on it without even reading anything else thinking you were hating on it (also overated is in red for some reason).
      The title also makes it look like you're addressing some hate or controversy which people eat up most of the time.
