Just replaced my JPX 921 HMP's with the ZX5 MK 11's. Best iron I have ever hit. I ended up going with the graphite shaft which gives me a little more launch and descent angle. Thanks for a great review, you guys nailed it!

I just had a fitting this weekend. They narrowed it down to the Mizuno Hot Metal Pro and Srixon ZX5 Mkll. Haven't made a decision yet, but I liked them both! The numbers didn't show much of a difference, so that didn't help. Glad I found this video though. Maybe if I get one of those hats, it will make me lean one way! Great video!

I was recently fit into the Srixon ZX5/ZX7 combo irons. Tested a lot of clubs and settled in the Srixons because of the feel and consistency with them. They performed the best for me.
Totally agree with Trevor to the point that I have purchased the sirxon zx5. Great looking iron but the killer is the feel and consistency of strike for me
Tested the gen 6 but went with the gen 5 full bag just based off value. Still both excellent clubs. Gonna be in Denver at the end of May, if I have time I’d love to swing by and check out the shop

I'm between the Ping i230, PXG Gen5T, Mizuno 923 forged/tour combo set and Srixon ZX5 MK II. Right now I'm leaning towards the ZX5. Keep up the great videos.
I have tried those. P790 outperformed them for me. Much more consistent for dispersion and accuracy and feel was what you mentioned. I can tell where I am hitting it from instantly
I use Srixon fairway woods and hybrid and PXG 0211 Xcor2 irons so I get why you like them. I know what you mean about the feel of the PXGs. Enjoyed the video.
Just purchased Gen 6 311 7-pw, but haven't gotten them yet. I have been playing Taylormade since 2006, and loved my fitted RSi's that I purchased in 2014, but I got COVID in November 2021 and my timing got way off, so I decided to change clubs. I purchase the p790's off the shelf, BAD IDEA. After doing some research, I decided to go with the PXG's. I just called the company, and gave them the swing weight and lie of .y RSi clubs. Because of COVID, I went from a 7 hcp to 16, not a fun 2 years but looking forward to seeing the difference these new clubs are going to have on my game... GREAT VIDEO... Thanks, Byron Fite
I play the Taylormade M4 irons. I think I’ll probably be ready to switch out from them once I break 90 or potentially 85. I’ll definitely keep these irons in mind when I go shopping later this year.
i went from pxg gen 4 irons, to an older set of mizunos, MP4s. the MP4s are leaps and bounds more enjoyable as they feel amazing. the mizuno 221s and 225s are more likely my next set as they look perfect.
I’m 2 years into golf and love playing. Gonna upgrade my beginner set before summer since I’m starting to make pars and getting better. I wish I could hit pxg gen 6 xp irons and Callaway smoke ai HL at the same fitting and compare but can’t since fitter doesn’t have both. Luckily there is a pxg store nearby in mpls though to go test them
I’m absolutely in love with my PXG Gen 6 P. I have to disagree in that I can feel my miss instantly when I strike them. I also played Gen 5 P. Tested Mizuno JPX 921 and 923 Forged and Tours. PXG was softer and better ball speed for me. I’ve never hit Srixon though and have been hearing amazing things about them. I’ve hit or gamed all the other major manufacturers but PXG has blown my mind every time I’ve been fit and hit them.
I am going through this now I have it narrowed down between MP 225, Srixon ZX 5, and PING i525. I have low ball flight and low ball flight. The PING has best height by far. But it is a bit louder. But not as horrible as people make it out to be. But I also want the MP 225. It’s so gorgeous. I spend 6 months a year in Japan and they have been rocking Srixon for a while. Most of my Japanese friends play them. But they always argue between them and Mizuno. Homna also makes good stuff.
nice review. I am a 12-14 handicap and currently game pxg gen 6 . Before that playing srixon zx5. I liked srixon but felt I lost a lot of distance compared to pxg. I never played mizunos but heard great things. I am a hockey player and I have had 7 knee surgeries 1 hip surgery and 1 back surgery so have lost some power and looking more for distance gains. I currently hit my 7 iron 155-160 where I used to hit it 165-172 so may have to look at mizunos but pxg are so good and feel great . Maybe wait until gen 7 comes out as pxg always improves on their prior generation of clubs.
I just went for a fitting and ended up getting the hot metal pro’s 2 degrees weak. I was hell bent on some sort of titleist iron but every shot I hit with the Mizuno’s felt so much better than anything I tried.
Was fit yesterday both Srixon ZX5 and Mizuno 923 Forged. Curious as I definitely had some really hot balls with the 923 Forged like you did with the hot metal. Srixon much more consistent. Liked the look of the Mizuno better. Did either of ya'll try the ZX7? I feel like it might compare better with the 923 Forged. I unfortunately didn't have the chance to hit the 7.
I have a set of the 7 and 5. The seven is full forged like the 923. So it’s for sure softer. But also less forgiving. What’s a cool idea is maybe combo setting them if you struggle with long irons. So for example. On the 4,5,6 irons do the zX5, and the 7,8,9,P do the zX7. Just an idea. We can help you order whatever you would like as well.
I could use some advice. I have PXG 0211 XCOR2 irons from 6 to Gap wedge which is 48° . I could buy the sandwedge from the set at 54° or should I buy 1 or 2 from the 0311 3x forged wedges and if I go that route should I go for 52&56 or 54&58?
Bang for your buck i would do the forged. But its really up to your Gapping in your bag and if you need the extra wedge. Let us know what you end up doing 👍
Just went through a comprehensive fitting- 85mph swing speed 15 hc- Down to JPX HMPro vs Srixon ZX5 MKII- Fitter suggested Srixon due to feel, forged and less chunky looks... What am I missing? Oh and a little cheaper and get them sooner... Thanks!
I think you guys picked some of the best feeling irons although I haven’t tried a pxg. Just curious which do you feel is more forgiving between the Srixon zx5 vs the jpx 923 forged models ?
I hit the 923 Forged in a sim and they were plenty forgiving. As long as you don’t shank off the hosel or skull it you’ll be in good shape wherever you hit it. They may go shorter but you’re not going to get a rocket ball 15 yards further than you’d expect.
Yeah McNiller is right. The Forged is a great, soft feel. But if you have trouble with consistent ball striking the ZX5 will be a little more forgiving. So it depends on the players skill level. Thanks for watching guys 🎉
Play the 0311 Gen 3. All are terrific clubs; on looks the black version of the 225’s would be #1, followed by the Gen 6, imo. Have played golf in Colorado & understand changing your lofts…
I enjoyed the video, and am looking at all these clubs. I would say that if you took a couple of minutes to discuss off camera what you want to talk about I think you could make the video more enjoyable and concise.
Did Tayte go with the standard lofts or did he request the same loft changes Trevor did for his irons? Seeing improvement in Trevor's foot work, does not seem to be as delayed in previous videos.

Driver is a huge upgrade between 5 & 6 we felt. The irons are better but not a ton better, so up to you 🤷🏻♂️

I enjoyed the video, and am looking at all these clubs. I would say that if you took a couple of minutes to discuss off camera what you want to talk about I think you could make the video more enjoyable and concise.

Current Gamers are the Mizuno Pro 225. Best irons out there combining distance, feel and accuracy. PXG gen 6 just released but those look sexy AF

Did Tayte go with the standard lofts or did he request the same loft changes Trevor did for his irons?
Seeing improvement in Trevor's foot work, does not seem to be as delayed in previous videos.
Tayte went with the standard "Stock" lofts of the irons. He has been working on his footwork a lot. I am glad it is paying off 👍
