      I feel bad for the next manager, they are also doomed, so much work for Ineos to do behind the scenes for next 2-3years before any manager can succeed here. Man Utd have far more pressure compared to Arsenal and Liverpool, who gave Klopp and Arteta far more time; this is why Ineos are so key as the continuity at a club like Man Utd

    Other than Dalot, the entire team against Spurs is ETH's. They're all players that he signed or brought up through the youth academy. Other than Dalot, Rashford and Bruno are Ten Hag's prefered starters and Bruno is ETH's captain.

    Kind of a long comment. I think Mark was just so fed up with the manager sacking cycle that he really wanted to believe in Ten Hag and back him, unfortunately this clouded his judgement. He had 2 seasons under horrible structure with the Glazers and there were a few mitigating circumstances. Injuries, off field drama and issues, the sale of the club, despite that, ETH won 2 cups.
    However, it was glaringly obvious that there was no obvious style of play, no consistency in starting line ups, new signings having to win their place, too many times we got battered and embarrassed, poor in game management, fall outs and bust ups with too many different players. I said it in a different comment, Ange is what Ten Hag was supposed to be.
    On the balance of things, did EtH deserve a season under a proper infrastructure? Some would say yes, some would say no, but it was a fair question. INEOS clearly weren't confident in EtH as they were looking for other managers. The FA Cup Final performance along with no suitable replacement being found, saved him. I also said a while ago that Ratcliffe's vision for the club is to have an English/British Manager. In the end EtH remained.
    But now, into the new season, I think it's clear that EtH just won't be the guy to take us back to challenging for and winning the biggest trophies. He's spent over 600 million on players he wants. That performance yesterday was indicative of a team with no confidence and direction, and ultimately that comes from trust in the manager. Ten Hag in is no longer a tenable position in my opinion. It's time to let go.

    • @iloveukgarage6314
      @iloveukgarage6314 หลายเดือนก่อน +21

      Cracking comment. The only bit I slightly disagree with is the part about consistency with his lineups. You can't have a consistent lineup when you have so many injuries. The defence was decimated last season, and we had midfielders playing there.

      Long comment just to have the wrong viewpoint unfortunately. The rotten apples in the squad need to go, not eth. Rashford, Bruno, and the players that have been here the longest need to go. And the Glazers won't let that happen, ergo they needed to go aswell. If you gave this squad to pep, he wouldn't be able to fix it either. These players need to go. Changing the manager hasn't worked so many times. You have to notice the consistencies over the years. Who's been there the longest? That's the issue. Unfortunately so many fans are blinded by hate and want easy fixes the hay won't work. It's a scary situation United is in.

    As a NUFC fan, I believe Howe would do a very good job at Utd, he is a level or two above EtH. He has done wonders with the squad of players he has had over the years here including crazy injury problems over the past 12 months. The issue at Utd is whether the board and INEOS are going to empower the manager to do what is necessary irrespective of who the manager may want rid of, much like the support Arteta was given. Also he and Ashworth had a strained relationship due to who was number one. I suspect INEOS want a puppet manager/coach. This would be why Southgate would be someone they would love to have in place.

Has anyone considered for all of Sir Alex’s triumph and glory as the originator of the United we know, he’s also to blame due to the Rock of Gibraltar mess which opened the door for The Glazers? I don’t think United fans have ever come to terms with that contradiction of our recent history. I mean even now Sir Alex never criticizes The Glazers at all, for the money they take out, for letting Old Trafford rot, for them being horrible owners. He never says anything. I can GUARANTEE you Ruud is NOT the long term answer. Erik maybe the manager, no1 in charge BUT, Ruud is the assistant head coach along with Rene. They’re the right hand man on Erik, giving their opinions, helping Erik do his job. So to put it simply, if Erik is sacked, the whole lot should go too. Secondly Ruud is the attacking coach, and we’ve seen how many chances these lot can’t finish. Lastly, Ruud definitely took the job on in hopes of taking over EtH reign. Prior to the FA Cup final fans began to turn on the players and backed the manager wholeheartedly. All of a sudden players began to actually play for the manager and all of a sudden out of no where produced a performance for the FA Cup final because the fanbase were United in holding the players accounatable. Fast foward... the pressure returned for the new season and it wasn't on the players but ETH, players sensed this and the fanbase was split again, all of a sudden they aren't running again. Rewind to when fans boo'd when Rashford wasn't subbed. All of a sudden Rashford was doing training videos, running again and he was back again. The minute the fanbase gave him a break and all the pressure was back on ETH they smelt it and all of them down tools. It may be true that none of them truly buy into his tactics but there is a clear correlation between when the fanbase is blaming the players and the effort they give after and when the fanbase is blaming ETH and how the players use this as an excuse to pretty much down tools. The evidence is right there and its crazy!!
    Yes as a fanbase we need to realise we are not the United of old and to allow these players to actually play without a mountain of pressure. Imagine all these TH-cam channels burried the hatchet and actually put United first and held the Glazers to account, focused on the owners, focused on holding the club to account and easing the pressure of what it means to play for this club. Instead we are in fighting and arguing about what someone said a year ago, who is the real fan, who doesn't go to games, like the millions and millions of fans who support United have all been to Old Trafford. The Glazers ran this club to the ground, milked millions and millions and allowed a national instituion to rot and yet we fight among ourselves whilst they get away with it. These players are not blind to what is going on, you see Garnocho's brother online. Get rid of ETH yes but the fanbase need to be United in backing the players but also holding them to account. They cannot get away with that performance against Spurs. If Bruno, Rashford and co all of a sudden begin running, scoring, giving their all with the new manager, I will know everything I need to know that is wrong with this club and its not all on ETH. The new manager cannot be beholden to playing Rashford, Bruno, giving Maguire minutes etc. We need a team truly picked on talent, effort and merit otherwise there is no point in any changes.

      @@Alexander07882 The biggest red flag was when ETH came in and he said he vowed to get the best out of Rashford. This is the biggest issue at the club, managers are brought in and forced to play Rashford, Bruno, Maguire etc as part of their remit. You can see it in ETH selections, he is constantly trying to make Rashford and Bruno work. This isn’t in the team’s best interest. The fans can see it, what more other players? Other coaches, what does it do to the overall morale?
      Not only do we need to realise we are not the United of old, we also need to rid ourselves of all these players who have been here far far too long. As players they need a fresh start and so does United. We cannot continue in a cycle of managers trying to get the best out of players who have proven not to be good enough, no other club would do this.

Frequent substitution of players never allowed players to combine. As a result players failed to understand each other's style of play. Thank you ETH for making UTD once again a mid-table Club. I will never never go for Eddie Howe. He is a small club mentality manager. I couldn't believe his tactics at Newcastle against City over the weekend. They were playing for a draw rather than going for the win. Eddie Howe is more inexperienced compared to RvN. I would like to at least try to get Jose Mourinho back. Under a different circumstance now with a proper backroom and management, I think he deserves another chance
