  • India has the 14th highest number of data centres and houses 151 of them, according to reports. But they’re not enough. The demand for data centres in the country has suddenly aggravated. The market is witnessing fast growth, with investments pouring in.
One such company is Mumbai-based Yotta Data Services, which is rapidly expanding its footprint. Backed by Hiranandani Group, the five-year-old startup was recently in the limelight after it became the first Indian company to acquire AI chips from NVIDIA. Forbes India got a chance to take a tour of Yotta’s datacenter park in Navi Mumbai, which currently has 7,200 server racks powered by almost 60 megawatts of power. In this video, co-founder Sunil Gupta, who is also known as the Data Centre Man of India, takes us through the use cases of these AI chips, the current data centre boom, the importance of data localization, and much more.

Indian govt must co-invest with private players to set-up datacenters out-side metro cities. Nuclear power generation is essential for running AI datacenters. Rural India can provide the majority of human resources to operate the business.

its kinda shameful for India has to import chips n depend on other countries despite being the largest software market in the world. politicians are busy figting n winning elections with religious sentiments. high time someone has to lay the ground works for manufacturing semi conductor chips. future of the nation depends on semi conductor chips only.
