Watched all of these on the other channel - now finding myself rewatching the whole thing here! Great mini-series - a proper adventure with some jeopardy and amazing views. Thanks
Enjoyed your video Steve, thanks. Electric car charging, when away from home feels like the Wild West. We have an EV, which is our runaround, but when travelling away from home and needing to use public chargers, things quickly fall apart. If electric is the future then today’s reality doesn’t feel like progress. You’d never pull up to a petrol station and find you couldn’t fill up because you didn’t have your own hose! Or find you could pay because you didn’t have the right app! Or have to wait 30 mins for a pump to become free. So although I love my EV for bobbing around in, if this was my only car I’d feel restricted by it. Your video demonstrates this exactly Steve. Happy new year to you all and I look forward to your travels in 2025.
Thanks Steve. I watched the series but I'm enjoying seeing the whole journey. I know you had pitfalls, but i honestly thought it was a crazy idea, and wouldn't work. Yes it was expensive. But range is worse in winter, and remote fueling would also be more expensive for Ice cars. Cost per mile includes overnight heating and for meals. It's offset by not paying for accommodation. To be viable campsites will need to be able to charge vehicles.. charging for usage not a fixed price. Im not sure if campsites will be given help with the facilities, otherwise i don't think I'd be keen on an electric campervan. Happy new year to you and your family
~0.21p per mile - almost double what i'd pay in diesel! The mind boggles. Thanks for the vid sir, done the NC500 twice this year and likely to take a gamble in Jan/Feb. 💕
My greatest memory snowballing with the kids, was after being on the beach in 80 degree temperatures ( 27 c ) at las Americas in Tenerife, then getting on a long bus ride to the top of Teide, not being able to get up to the cable car because the coach couldn't make it through heavy snow, so we had something to eat at the hotel just before the top and had a snowball fight outside. Then returned back to hot temperatures at resort again. All on the same day.
Think its great what you are doing. Just wondering what kind of airfryer you are using and the watts that it puts out. Ive got a campervan not electric one. Keep up the good work and enjoy your travels. Robert in Inveraray Scotland 👍
Good morning Steve, fantastic vlog, loved the series, even I had range anxiety for you. Can I ask what was your mileage range when 100% charged when it was new compared to now. Take care and Happy New Year to your family
That varies massively from the summer to the winter and it depends how I’ve driven it for the past 15 minutes as to what it shows on the GOM, but hopefully I’ve shown in the videos that driving it sensible in winter conditions you can get just under 200 miles for 100% charge. I’ve shown in a previous video that I got closer to 250 miles when driving in the summer.

We’re doing it for the first time in April. Can’t wait. What air fryer do you use? Thanks 🚚⛺️

Interesting Video, Do you have a summary of the charging stops , Mileage added , Cost etc. It would be interesting to see the variation in cost.
I shared the total miles covered and total cost of charging at the end of the video.
time for the wild atlantic way aint it Radfords
So many chargers seem to have issues looks a nightmare
Watched very good exercise did not think you would make it with the bad infrastructure around country some working and loads not

That EV is some pain in the Arse..
I would rather 🚲 😂
Why dont you charge to 100%?
I charged to 100% several times in the video, however as I explained, charging slows down at 80% so I sometimes quit after 80% as it’s so much slower
@SteveRadford
And it doesnt affect the battery capacity?
( I dont own an EV so I have no knowledge of them )
