every single thought and suggestion of Robert is so wise. He said true and ESSENTIAL stuff all the way. Something nice I have also read somewhere is: the concert is a special, always exceptional moment in your life, try to ENJOY the moment, look around you before going on stage and live the experience. I think those are beautiful words which may create a positive atmosphere.
thank you so much for your tutorial videos - i am self taught, learned by learning to read notes and just putting my fingers where the notes on the page say to, learned so many bad habits - i have learned a lot from your videos - i play a pipe organ for church services and often the nerves and adrenalin make me start the tempo to fast which is a disaster cause like you say once started got to go with it, makes everyone sing too fast, nice tips to help solve this for me, thanks again
Thank you so very much for this video. I have my first concert (on piano) next week, and this video helps a TON. Though I'm only playing five pieces, this helps me. Thanks again, Michael
Thanks for the video Robert! While you were talking about pianists that like to pretend they are on their own when performing Emil Gilels sprang to mind, he never seems to appreciate or acknowledge the audience which was often taken as arrogance unfortunately :-) keep up the great work!
he's so right, i know i struggle with this to a great degree, i haven't found out how to control my nerves yet, they do get the best of me sometimes, but it's getting better. :) thanks for the video Robert!
This video is extremely helpful! Thank you! Also is it possible for you to make a video about how to be a concert pianist. How to make it in that profession? I'm an aspiring pianist and it would help me a TON! Thank you!
Hi, thanks for the video! Do you have any suggestion for the (terrible) moment when the performer 'stumbles' and goes completely nuts, instead of keeping the attention level high? Thanks.
