I was in my early teens when he died. I grew up listening to his songs and admiring him both as an artist and as a person. I wish he was born in a more welcoming era like today to people like him. The sadness in his eyes in some of his photos told it all its heartbreaking to look at. His charity foundation told us of his unselfishness to quote "my misfortunes at least could give other people hope," and his great love to God and finally being happy as he comes to terms with mortality. To live eternally and guilt free. RIP idol.

There is nothing to be ashamed of now about these things but of course back then people were still ignorant about HIV/AIDS and it was such a stigma attached to it but now people are more accepting of these things, people’s sexual preferences, even if you got aids thru a same sex relationship it’s ok but just be mindful not to pass it on. If you live in countries like UK, you can even marry each other and more and more countries around the world allow this to happen, so I wished he was born later so he would still be around today. His photos in later life looks so so so sad, his eyes says it all, no smile! But I love him in all his photos short hair, long hair whatever he looked the epitome of a true gentleman! Love you and may you rest in eternal peace!
