    THANK YOU! I live on an old peach farm w/ fam & dogs, am 75. My love is a gift, a sweet pug pup.
    Limbs branches shoots all over. Am gathering.
    A woven fence needs to be only 3 ft. I can & will make this!
    An aside, thank heaven Pugs can’t jump!❤️🌈
    Thank you again from rural Colorado.

    Oh, and this is perfect. Willdo looseweave deep & strong uprights. Wind here can get unreal.

    Thank you!! I want to try this. It makes me feel independent and self reliant! I will use guava sticks and they might even grow because they often grow when poked in the ground here in Hawaii.

      Wow, a living wattle fence, what a cool idea!

    • @jakeornot6306
      @jakeornot6306 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm fairly certain the result would be a "hedgerow." That, in itself, would be a fine thing.

    • @jakeornot6306
      @jakeornot6306 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GiveitaGrow It would be a hedgerow. Not a wattle fence. And that's just great.

    How do you prep the ground to insert your sticks?

    Hi thank you so much for making this video! I am wanting to make mine like a wall for my back porch. But I do not have any ground to secure the posts. Just concrete. Would you happen to have any suggestions on how I can secure the vertical posts?

    • @GiveitaGrow
      @GiveitaGrow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would ask a home improvement store. I would not want to make a suggestion that damaged your concrete. Sorry, and good luck!

    How far apart do you need to make each post from the next?

    • @GiveitaGrow
      @GiveitaGrow  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The closer together, the stronger it will be, but harder to weave. I made my posts about 1 foot apart.

    Do the stakes eventually rot in the ground though? How long does the fence last?

    • @GiveitaGrow
      @GiveitaGrow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the stakes will slowly rot, just another reason to get very strong vertical stakes.

    Thanks for the vid, should the wood be green/fresh cut? Or should you let it dry/season first?

    • @GiveitaGrow
      @GiveitaGrow  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Green wood is more flexible and would probably be best, just make sure the vertical stakes are strong.

    Great video! Thanks for sharing! How did you hammer your posts in? Did you cut the ends to make them sharp or anything?

    • @GiveitaGrow
      @GiveitaGrow  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Yeah I cut the ends at an angle |/ and pounded them in with a sledge hammer, I think. You definitely want the stakes to be sturdy.

    How deeply did you place the stake limbs?

    • @GiveitaGrow
      @GiveitaGrow  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      As deep as I could, about 8 inches maybe. The deeper they are the stronger the should be.

    Buckthorn? NoNoNO it is invasive. Use some other wood PLEASE

    • @holly5195
      @holly5195 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He’s cutting the wood down to make it, so this project is doing good in that regard!

    • @chasingthefish9042
      @chasingthefish9042 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So we cant kill buckthorn and use it corpse to build a fence because its invasive? Seems like an illogical, emotional charged response to the mere name of an invasive species.

    I'm 10 man I can build a fence easier then that 😂

    • @GiveitaGrow

      This takes a lot of sticks, and it works best if they are all the same size.
