Well the games in it are nostalgic (SMB1-3d world/NSMBU) so yea. Also remixes of old Mario music, so yea ends up being nostalgic earlier than usual. Something that im already nostalgic for tho, is Mario Odyssey
It does sound like music that came from the SNES, however, when Super Mario World came out they barely knew their way around the sound chip so I doubt that they would be able to implement accordion samples like this in the original game.
This makes me want to go on an adventure to an Desert Island with my 5 friends and a Princess to fight this really evil guy who is made of sand in order to save the Desert Island.
Best new track is this and SMB3 Snow theme. This sounds cool and that sounds cute. And SMB1 Airship is epic. So many good tracks to these styles that weren’t in the original games. I love em all.
I thought the smw desert was a mountain theme and I was like "I wonder what the other mountain themes look like in other styles" and I was so surprised when I found out it was actually the desert and theres no mountain XD
@Wafflest Waffle And 3DW's Sky theme is a toy room (Rolling Ride Run from the original), not "sky". The only new theme where it's consistent in all game styles is Snow
I absolutely love this theme, but I heard that it sounds like the usual Egypt-inspired desert despite being more like a North American rocky desert, and I think it also would’ve been nice to hear something with a western or Latin American influence, akin to Odyessey’s Sand Kingdom and Teehee Valley from Mario and Luigi
Everyone likes the major key switch and it's good, but I actually love the part that's in minor key lol, it's very interesting and I love the feeling it conveys.
dadutchboy2 musical taste is subjective and not everyone likes the same thing as you. personally i'm not sure about this track and there are probably more people who are more polarized about their opinions

I actually recommend looking into a project called VLDC 9. You'd be surprised at what the SMW sound chip was capable of.
