I’m pretty sure that these models are all striker fired full auto assault revolvers and that is why they are hammerless. Careful, they’ll blow out your lungs.
Kimber also offers K6xs, 38 spl +P, weighs 15.9 ounces (7 ounces lighter than the 357 version) for those of us who aren’t masochistic. Same 6-shots, I’ve heard that it’s not as nice as the big brother, but I find it of good quality, value, and pretty good looking, too.
I’ve carried a J Frame since 1968 and my current EDC is the no-lock 340PD, and was forced into a 1974 on duty shooting w/my issued 6-shot Colt Detective Spl., about the same size as a J Frame. FYI, the Ruger LCR’s trigger has a false reset that can be a problem in a deadly confrontation & it’s something You’ll need to train through.
You are definitely right it's a lot more intimidating to stare at a big revolver that's pointed at you😢😮 that's why I prefer A Smith l or n frame or a Ruger GP100😊 they seem to have that Dirty Harry effect on unexpecting assailants😮😅
As others have commented, these are not hammerless. Also, the J-frame Centennial models have different length barrels - the .357 mag versions have slightly longer barrels than the 38 specials. It is incorrect to state that J frames have aluminum alloy frames; while some do, these revolvers are made in carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and scandium. Finally, it is not true that "these revolvers are only effective at close range". There are many examples of J frame accuracy at 25 yards, and some at much longer ranges depending on the skill of the shooter. All of these erroneous statements lead me to conclude this video was carelessly made in the absence of an adequate knowledge of the subject.
The lack of a hammer is a big plus in self protection and all who revue CC guns should point this out. never risk that thing called a snag no matter who`s showing you CC guns, plus you have the option to pocket or purse carry and nix the extra bulk of a holster if concerned about printing.
I purchased the Ruger SP101 357 Magnum hammerless with a 3 inch barrel back in 2005 for only $329 new😮 probably the best handgun I've ever purchased😊 if the Rock Island revolver you mentioned isn't rated for plus p I would have never included it on this list😢 to me that shows poor build quality and for just a few dollars more you could own a better-looking gun that at the very least is + P rated😮

Excellent video. I must say the J-frame is not Hammerless ... Actually it's got an internal hammer.
