    Enjoy your videos very much! Having worked for two Class 1 railroads here in the US (I cannot speak for prototype German railroads), track specifications typically call for a pile of ballast at the end of spur tracks to reduce roll-off derailment distances. More often than not, one will find a red board or an "End of Track" sign and a pile of ballast at the end of the track rather than the buffers...thank you for all you do, please, keep up the great work!

      Thanks for some experience from the real world. LOL - I suspected that the pile of ballast is prototypical. Thanks and enjoy ;-)

    This was a great video. I have the opposite problem. I broke a bumper (I stopped on it). I have the track with the mound but no bumper. I am going to order a k track bumper now and see if I can fix the damage.

      Excellent idea - hope you can fix it. Have fun ;-)

    You still need to fasten the bumper to the track 😊

      Hi Svein, agreed and the bumpers I used have a screw hole to support this. I do not use it as I make temporary layouts, but good to do on a permanent layout. Enjoy ;-) Bo

    You could use a trix c-track 62094 to fix the bumper, digging the hole only in plastic.

    Good idea, I’m going to try this with Fleischmann 6117 buffers, they look a lot better.

    I just re-use the buffers from the c track buffers tracks and I have saved money by getting the my world version which comes in packs of 3.

    I am new to this. How do i stop my train in front of the bumper via automation. Thank you

      Hi Sylvian,
      I can think of a couple of solutions for this that could be applicable depending on your needs. You could use electrical automation, CS3 automation or software automation. All solutions a re a little complicated, but manageable.
      You can check out the automation series for more on this: th-cam.com/play/PLYAhs-Pox3sHzQJsNU-FmOEj1ylO-NPpV.html
      Electrical Automation:
      With electrical automation you could use wither the m83 with brake module or use the m84 to turn off power at the last piece of the track.
      - The m84 is the simplest - just turn off power on the center rail before the bumper. The disadvantage is that sound and light will suddenly disappear. Turn on the power when you want to leave again.
      - You can use the m83 to control the brake module to brake the locomotive appropriately before the bumper. This solution will brake the locomotive and keep sound/light on, but is more complex.
      Unfortunately, I have not yet made a video on how the m84 can be used to turn off power to the track. However, in the following video you can see how to use the m84 to make a stop track with a signal - use the same method without the signal: th-cam.com/video/wrSVwgIgR-4/w-d-xo.html
      CS3 automation
      You could use the CS3 with contact track & S88. In this way you can detect when the train approaches the bumper then reduce the speed and stop the train. This gives you a very fine control where you could also turn off sound/light. In addition to that you could make a shuttle operations where the train moves from one point to another and back again.
      I have made multiple videos on this topic. To get you started look at the videos on the contract track, S88 and basic events in the automation series episodes 2, 3 and 4: th-cam.com/play/PLYAhs-Pox3sHzQJsNU-FmOEj1ylO-NPpV.html
      Finally you could use software automation, but this is a different project where you connect a computer to your layout.
      Hope this helps! Enjoy ;-)

    Tip: jeg har købt mig et sæt fra Märklins My World. De har ikke helt samme farve men hvis man alligevel dækker det med ballast ses det ikke. Så får du 3 for 2`s pris ca.

      Buying the Märklin My World ones cheaper (but different color) - nice tip for saving money. Thanks. Enjoy ;-)

    Hej jeg synes du gør et fantastisk arbejde. Jeg var helt lost før jeg så dine videoer.
    Jeg er rendt ind i et problem .
    Min kammerat er ved at installere en jernbane med to skinner drift digital ( jævnspænding) sideløbende med c skinner der er ac drift.
    Han siger man bare kan umiddelbart koble central station 3 til to skinnerne så finder den selv ud af om det er jævnspænding og så selvom der er sat en almindelig transformer til den . er det korrekt ?. Selvfølgelig skal der de to skinnesystemer ikke kobles til på samme tid.

    • @ModelTrainFun
      @ModelTrainFun  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Det er meget vigtigt at købe den rigtige strømforsyning til Central Station 3 (CS3) - det skal være en "Switched Mode" strømforsyning. Se "What power supply to buy?" i videoen "Getting Started with Märklin Central Station 3 (CS3 Episode 1)" på denne kanal: th-cam.com/video/wANbrR0fdJk/w-d-xo.html
      CS3 kan styre både DCC og Märklin MM/FX/MFX på samme tid. Jeg har set på en af introduktionsvideoerene på Märklin's TH-cam kanal at de havde både 2- og 3-skinne drift på samme tid til samme CS3. Jeg har ikke selv prøvet dette, men kan ikke set hvorfor det ikke skulle fungere. Det er vigtigt at koble strømmen korrekt til på hver type skinne.
      It is extremely important to buy the correct power supply to the Central Station 3 (CS3) - it has to be a "Switched Mode" power supply. See "What power supply to buy?" in the video "Getting Started with Märklin Central Station 3 (CS3 Episode 1)" on this channel: th-cam.com/video/wANbrR0fdJk/w-d-xo.html
      CS3 can control both DCC and Märklin MM/FX/MFX at the same time. I have seen in one of the introduction videos on Märklin's TH-cam channel they were controlling both 2- and 3-rail system at the same time with one CS3. I have not tried this, both to me it seems likely this will work. It is important to connect the power correctly according to the 2-/3-rail systems.
      Hope this helps. Enjoy ;-)

      @@ModelTrainFun Tak for dit fine svar , er det korrekt hvis man køber en mobil station 2 . At den også kan bruges til trix ( dc ) da den kører protokol ddc ?.

    • @ModelTrainFun
      @ModelTrainFun  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ja - MS2 kan bruges til Trix. Men kun til digital (DCC) - ikke analog (DC) kørsel. Se oversigt over komponenter kompatible med Trix i link neden under.
      Yes - the MS2 can be used for Trix as well. However, only for digital (DCC) operations - not analogue (DC). See the overview below for components compatible with Trix in the link below.

    I enjoy your videos, however it's very likely a parking train/wagon will knock the bumper off if it cannot be secured to the track. Thank you nonetheless.

    • @ModelTrainFun
      @ModelTrainFun  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed - on a permanent layout I would secure the bumper either with the screw or glue it to the track. Enjoy ;-)
