I’ve been watching a lot of van/car camping videos lately because I’m considering outfitting my Acadia for that purpose and your setup is by far the best I’ve seen to date. Thanks for sharing.
Outstanding job. This is a game changer. Back in my army days I had a 4x4 s10 I put a 5.0 liter engine in it did 13sec 1/4 miles but was a beast on trails. Anyway slept many a hot night in the back. That truck went all over America getting 11 miles to the gal with a 13 gal tank. Lol had fuel cans strapped all over it. Best time of my life . With a vehicle like that you can go anywhere. Just do it. The only thing people ever regret is the things you didn’t try. Even if something sucks it’s always memorable .
Inspiring words my friend. Sounds like you really know how to SEEZELIFE! That's what this is all about. Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.
Angela, the workspace was a huge win for how much I use my computer and use it to set gear on and charge electronics...Check out my overnight SUV camping video to see it in action!
Very nice simple and practical build. Definitely agree you want to have the sleeping platform as low as possible. Sleeping with your feet under the shelf is great use of space.
This is one of the better/clever builds I’ve seen. I have a 2010 QX56 and did something similar to this where I can easily convert back and forth. I needed a space for two people though so it’s basically a smaller full size fit for two.
I’m using a low cot I bought at Walmart and I put a Cot size foam/blow up 4 inch camping mattress on top of the cot..if I need more I will put a memory foam topper on it and it’s still lightweight and low enough for headroom! If I need room inside because I’m stuck inside due to weather…I am able to fold it back (in half) to make room to move about ! 😁👍
Not a fan of the folding cots with springs down the sides BUT.... easy to fold up, Lightweight and plenty of storage under it. About these builds with boards.....I wouldn't want a rear end hit that breaks my back if the boards shove forward. Nice mattress!
That roof container is going to kill your mpg, especially at highway speeds. There's a good reason why the big roof box brands look the way they do, and they already cost a vehicle 1-2 mpg depending how big they are.
Thanks for your reply and watching! I only put the roof container up top when I’m crunched for space on big trips. With a 4Runner, MPGs aren’t at the top of the list..
Thanks for this! EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Cheap, light, modular and functional. Will be enjoying next summer. You rock.
Excited just hearing you mention your future car camping! SEEZELIFE!

I'm honored by your words brother. I hope your build goes well and SEEZELIFE!
Best project I've seen so far. Simple and efficient.
That was the goal! Thanks for the inspiring comments..
Perfect. Just what I was looking for. Great design.
The folding platform, very clever. The side panels are cool too.
Took some out of the box thinking ha. Thanks for watching!

Yes having a space to sit up and use that table is a great idea. I have not seen back seats fold down like that before.

This is what I've been looking for!
Awesome! What type of vehicle are you planning to build out ?
Smart design. I use the same trifold mattress - love it.
Glad you like it just as much as me. Thanks for watching, my friend.
That's a great design!

Thanks for watching! Are you planning a build?
Yes building out a 100 series cruiser. I previously build a gen 3 forerunner in a similar way to you but nowhere near as pretty.
Coolest car camper I know, stoked to see your next adventure
Great setup, enjoyed & of course liked & subscribed 🍷🍷
Appreciate the encouragement and subscribing! SEEZELIFE!
Great design and love that mattress! New sub!
Much appreciated SC!
Love the Neatness!
Awesome build my friend
Thank you, sir. Appreciate the support!
Love that setup!!
Thank you! I love the simplicity and the functionality.

Appreciate it! Certainly took some me some time to envision the idea but once I did, it worked out great!
Perfect set up
Best setup I’ve seen😍😍😍😍
What a simple and super clean setup! Looks very nice! 😃
Appreciate the encouragement! SEEZELIFE!
Great setup, like the light weight platform.
Really nice build! Thanks for sharing. Enjoy! 👍🚙🏞🏜🌵🇺🇸🌞
Appreciate the kind words. Have fun camping and SEEZELIFE!
Great layout, I really like how you utilized the space. So many other setups I've seen are super heavy, or require installation/removal for a trip
Bingo. Above all else, I wanted minimal weight. I recently gave away this platform in a newer video..check it out!

Thoughtful design. Very good. Thanks for sharing.
You're very welcome!
I like that it is very simple.
Genius design!
Great build. Thanks for posting.
I'm glad you enjoyed! SEEZELIFE!
Great build! I might copy. Thank you, Sir!
Please do! I’m actually camping in it tonight..Happy Memorial Day weekend !!
That’s really nice 😊 thanks for sharing
You’re welcome! Hopefully this has inspired your future adventures!
That is really nice!
Thanks, Guy. SEEZELIFE!
You're welcome
How did you mount your shelf to the side molle panels? A video tutorial of that would be awesome 😄
Great idea for another video, I may make one in the near future.
Great work thank you for sharing this. Can you inform me where you got these side panels which you can use for hooks? Best regards Hermann in Iceland.
Thanks for watching all the way from Iceland. I hope to visit your country in the future!
WOW Nice suv-camper! 😀
amazing
Thank you!
Nice video bro!
Wow, those back seats go down pretty flat. Can you tell me the measurements of the interior space of your build? Awesome build!!!
With the back seats folded down it's almost 6 feet long and about 40" wide between the wheel wells.
I have that exact mattress to use for company.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
What year is your 4runner?or what gen?
Not a fan of the folding cots with springs down the sides BUT.... easy to fold up, Lightweight and plenty of storage under it. About these builds with boards.....I wouldn't want a rear end hit that breaks my back if the boards shove forward. Nice mattress!
Totally agree. Being able to fold away and stow helps mitigate any safety issues. Thanks for watching!
5’ 10” on a good day, heard that.
I can relate to dat
Gets the job done
Great build. Do any companies make those rear window racks 4th gen 4runners 2005 - 2009?
Thanks, Allan. I bought them through Rago Fabrications. The install did not require any drilling and was pretty simple since it used factory mounts.
What is dimension of solid piece and flip piece (length,)?
Solid Bottom: 35"
Flip Top: 28"
Very nice.
Loved it
Use the big Van :) like me💙💜❤
Likely taking my pass seat out.
Should make for plenty of extra room
Im 250 pounds. Yes, im thick boy. You think the platform can hold all this grade A BeeF?
Without a doubt. The way I constructed it with my wood choices - that beef got room on the plate.
@SEEZELIFE you're so funny man. That reply just made my day lmaooo

What car is that?
2008 Toyota 4Runner
👍👍👍👍👍
Sorry I found it, thank you.
