Fun bit of pottery. Thanks for the video.
You’re on something special there, great finds! 👍🏻
Dan, Dan, Dan.. What an amazing field and finds! One of your best (finds) video's! 👊👊👊 Gtz Reem
well now Dan, that was probably the most interesting, exciting, and absorbing video ever made. we felt as if we were actually on the field, and enjoyed every find along with you. the villiage must surely been a hight status place to have all those beautiful artifacts? as you say......what a field, and it will be waiting for you again next year. and we will wait with you.
truly amazing, thank you.
Almost definitely a Medieval village Dan.
It's all about the History.
And no doubt you have it right there. Well done 👏. 👍
Definitely a leveled village! Lucky dog 🐕
@Whocares......... I really do think so mate, some incredible stuff coming up 😊👍
33:29 don’t think you’ll ever get a better bit of pottery than that Dan!😮
What a find!!
Spectacular day DD! What an amazing field & with a lost Village! I don't think it is but the pottery face looks like a part of a Bartman jug.
Cheers M8, John.
What a fantastic day.
Some amazing finds on another of your great permitions , well done Dan and thanks for the history.
Thank you for watching 😊
What a great days detecting. The pottery face looks like the face from a Bartman jug. A wine or oil container circa 1760s or there abouts. The silver or aluminium tool could be a pipe smoker's cleaning tool and could have attached to a watch chain. It looks like it's been fashioned after a pick axe at one end. It's very much a one off custom made thing so a bit of a rarity. Always amazed at the items you unearth long may it continue.
Keep us updated on the bird head zoomorphic thing Dan
Very interesting find 🤔
That is what I call craft man ship, 👌
Wow! Multiple bucket listers in one day, incredible!
@soph_digs it an incredible field, can't wait to get back out there 🙌
Another day of stunning finds, well done
@jeffholmes1362 thank you very much 😊
Definitely is the field of dreams ......... Amazing field 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wow, great research and finds Dan. I’ve got 2 old Medieval Villages on my permission and never find as much as this. Fantastic mate
Unbelievable finds Dan
Thats an amazing permission 👌
Thank you very much 😊
Wow, just Wow!👍
Thank you 😊
Omg those ate some of the nicest things I've ever seen you find. That knife handle thing and that strap end are a thing of beauty, and wouldn't look out of place in any museum. What a field ❤❤❤
Thank you mate 😊. I have to agree, some of the most beautiful finds I've ever had ✨️
I have a guess about your bird head item. It almost looks like a handmade button-shoe hook. Please let us know if you find out what it really is.
Absolutely fantastic
@junco477 thank you 😊
Great saves again. Awesome. Decent length video too. Thanks for sharing.
@dannelson4587 thank you for watching again buddy 🙏 👍

What a day mate lot of history on that field well done
Very welcome chap. Great video. 💪🏻
Much appreciated
Will you have 0:12 notify the museum about the possibility of the village? Such wonderful finds! I would think archeologists might want to check it out. ❤
Greeting from Austria Dan.lWhat a field!!
I throw my pottery finds and clay pipe stems and occasionally the odd coin into my flower borders.
It makes weeding a lot more interesting!! 😂
WOW!
What a field! What a day! Has the field ever been examined by archaeologists?
Have enjoyed watching you for some time now from here in the US... What a great day detecting & outstanding finds.
To echo others, this is just amazing to have a permission with such history. Thoroughly enjoy watching you. Maybe some day I’ll bump into you at a rally in the UK. That’s my dream trip and future goals. Well done Dan. From another Dan.
A great Video again Dan, keep em coming mate.
@johncrouch1174 thanks buddy 😊👍
Bloody hell Dan, what a day for you! That has to be the best DD video for me so far. Back home from offshore this weekend, and I'm heading straight out. All the best. Neil.

Thanks mate and all the best from Somerset 💯👍🏻👍🏻✨

Again, a fantastic dig. The tripod is a great addition to your kit.
Wow 👌👌👌
Wow Dan, so many amazing special finds. What a day! and loved the medieval pottery face 😊❤️ Always enjoy your videos so much 😊❤️
Love that strap end what a find👌
we need a deus vs Manticore competition Dan, stop off and pick me up next trip out
Wow you’re a very lucky man indeed having such an amazing field, I know you know that but I have to vent my envy 😂😂😂😉👍
Great day lad well done mate love the vids, keep it up
Thank you 😊
Awsome video, well done
The bird head shaving handle
Yes, could be 👍
I would of said a knife handle at 14. 30, it is lovely. Superb land and great finds and the pottery fragment face looks like it could be off a Nottingham ware jug/vessel and that ear scoop could be silver and Roman. The silver Roman is Vespasian
@dm51964 I think knife handle too mate 👍. There is only medieval green glaze pottery on that field, it's everywhere. I've found some very similar with faces on Google 👍
www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-ee-uk-revc&sca_esv=4614768026efb3bf&source=android-browser&sxsrf=ADLYWIKCXG63V3mJUH0jtRbMhN1oKNFhAw:1728325682877&q=medieval+green+glaze+pot+with+face&udm=2&fbs=AEQNm0Aa4sjWe7Rqy32pFwRj0UkWd8nbOJfsBGGB5IQQO6L3JzEq8sk6FPCPzvp42tv1tXqbMuV2SwUN4XcJCVt9MuyOV7mb2BT3aLHi5xqxZMmRTatMUDwaGxnrs65PRpJqe6QqUTT62q2WuWd_zMwvVLBpk-3jlCOIi8RODnCfxfLSnXvpNC2dZIQVt8JBuNF0ELJlRH26GmEKhAnSmjbpZJmr7JcboA&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj2_ojz8vyIAxW-S0EAHTPxAPwQtKgLegQIERAB&biw=384&bih=653&dpr=3.75#vhid=WSIo_rnpObrwjM&vssid=mosaic
I will re tast the ear scoop to see if its silver, but it didn't appear so when I tested in the field.
Thanks for the ID On the roman 👌👍😊
Looks like it is OK now with 👍 To learn
Kid some interest in History is a Wise move By Dan. Length really gone up,
On uploads from Dan. Have to take
Them in parts. Let me guess 👍 only
Visibel for Dan not Wievers. That was
A Hell of a start! 😜🔝❤️
@tonilauge5786 thanks mate 👍
The punch marks on the hammered coin are where the pellets are on the other side, ghosting I think they call it. It’s where the silver stretches into the higher relief during the strike. You can also see where the cross is too. Amazing finds. Keep us updated on what the handle thing is, I’ve not seen anything like it before.
Good work Dan
The strapend with the ring and dots , the five dots probably represent the wounds of Christ ...fantastic hunt mate ..Best nugget
Hi Dan At 31.50 maybe a snuff scoop??
Yes it could be mate 👍. I haven't yet found anything like it 🤔
And a Roman gold ring !!!!!!
Hi there, Dan. Greetings from Denmark. Wow - what an amazing field - and jaw-dropping finds. Thanks for sharing. It's such a pleasure watching your videos.
I’m an XP D1 and D2 user, but so tempted to get the Manticore especially inspired by your enthusiasm for this machine.
Just a question - why would you not use the 11” or even the 15” coil on such a nice and flat field (of dreams)?
Cheers 😉
Paul
Wow Dan what some beautifull finds, has to be one of your best days yet really enjoyed watching this one thank you. found my first Tealby full penny and a cut half last year. just a side note my FLO officer discourages me from unfolding Hammered coins as he says Pilgrims often put healing powers inside the coins and gave them to the afflicted to heal them so extra history added to the coin. once again Dan thank you for the vid , we dont mind how long they are !! Cheers
You’re on fire Dan. Great finds again.
That French Jetton is just amazing.. must have been dropped the day it was struck . Crazy
Some day that Dan that’ll take some beating that Roman coin maybe a Vitellius it’s early about ad69 well done 👏👏👏👏👏
Great finds 👍well done 😊is that a knife handle with the animal head? Possible
@@petert1572 I think it could well be a knife handle, and my guess is that it's medieval 😊👍. Thanks for watching
32 min in a Snuff tabac spoon fancy
Model 200 years old?! 😜🔝❤️
38:18 looks like maybe commemorating an archery score? That maybe won a competition?
That's an interesting thought mate, thank you 😊
Félicitations🎉
Bird headed knife handle perhaps🤔
Yes I think so too mate 👍
That’s some field of dreams Dan beautiful finds I will be out this weekend fully recovered and fighting fit
You can change the sound on the pinpointer to just vibrate. It still may be picked up by the microphone, but it will be a very quiet buzz. Maybe try it for a dig. I don't mind the noise, myself. And still the best pinpointer, in my opinion.
@guycleveland3897 I tried it on vibrate before, but just couldn't get used to it. Maybe I'll give it another try next weekend and hope the mic pics it up 😊👍
@DiggerDanMetalDetecting , I prefer the noise, unless I am in an area that would attract too many people.
quatafoil in the reverse centre denotes york mint
Totally correct mate, I would forget my head sometimes if it wasn't screwed on 😂👍
That duck bird there’s something lightly faded on it in black it’s like a 4-5 letters I can’t work it out though
The library in the town I live in in coastal VA loans out metal detectors.
Bird thing a bottle opener???
@23.14 there’s a metal peace in the right corner in mud
Dan you have to put heat to them and open slow
The oldest I could ever find is perhaps a French coin. In comparison, Detroit isn't old at all. Envy isn't a sin, IMO.
Silver roman looks like a vespian around 73 ad
Around where I live in Norfolk, all the fields are now ploughed beautifully but still no permission obtained in my village. Such a shame😢😢😢😢
@wimseffelaar8950 keep on trying mate, there will be a yes 👍 when you least expect it
Cracking finds mate! You must be over the moon!
8 of us travelled to Norfolk for 4 days detecting last month from Scotland
We got very lucky with a permission but I feel your pain, we phoned countless farms trying to get enough to fill 4 days in
Have to say tho, detecting there is spectacular compared to Scotland
Hi Dan your having a fantastic day love the patina on that strap end and that face is amazing Regards Bob
Thank you 😊
You must have robbed a musem😢you bad man LOL
medieval nail scraper?
You'll be asking for a bigger coin case if it keeps getting better every time 😂😂
You are gathering a roman soldiers saddle and coins
Incredible mate, I could watch you on that field all day long, so many amazing finds 👏
I have a link that explains the foil test and therefore why it may not work on non-tarnished silver. But it keeps getting deleted! I must be doing something naughty!!!!! I'll try on your facebook page....
Mate you get them. That's the problem with the world and this generation now pure snowflakes.. and anyone comes to your house put a 2x4 over the heads. Should never ever threaten man and his family in his own home. So sorry to hear all this pal I've watched so many of your videos and never once thought bad of you or what you do.. bloody leave places better then we find them! Take it easy and see you in the next one
What a field! Great finds Dan amazing! 👌🏼
