We lived in a wee Council House, had an open fire, paraffin heaters elsewhere, no fridge, a downstairs bathroom with a Copper my Mum would boil up to do her washing or if we wanted a bath. I think it would help if the communities where these terrorist come from spoke out against these atrocities, along with the government and the MSM it would help, at the moment their silence speaks volumes to us, the populations who suffer( i wont use the word victims) Their silence is not doing anything to help race relations in our country. Thanks once again June you hit the nail on the head.
The problem is, most are terrified of speaking out because of reprisals by the terrorists within their communities egged on by the extremists Mulahs in the Mosques.
Yes… a regular Christmas present from me as a child to my late Mother would be a new shopping bag! The old one would be regulated to buying potatoes! In the summer, I’d make quite a bit of money from collecting all the discarded lemonade, cherry, limeade Corona bottles from the day trippers coming to the beach. 3d on every bottle! 10 shillings for a soda siphon, serious money! I’m just thankful, and sad to be so, thankful that my folks are not around to see what is happening in the U.K. it’s up to us to get it right once again when young people can have fun and hope! Older folk can afford to live and not be worried all the time at costs and scared about walking down the street.

There is a reason why the establishment don't want to look at the cause, its because they have no intention of stopping what they are doing. The rewards for thier actions must be far greater than those for looking out for the people they are supposed to represent. They cannot possibly be that dumb that they do not know the consequences of their decisions. We need to get someone who represents us and look after them better than whoever is pulling the strings at the moment.
As a 72 year old June I can identify with everything you say. My mother shopped every day. Dinner was ready every night. I never asked for money for the ‘tuck’ shop but had some biscuits for a snap. We’re all just people. But! This Sharia law and terror stuff should be stopped by law and the perpetrators sent ‘home’ wherever that may be. Love one another. An eye for an eye. We’re getting taken for ‘mugs’!

Get rid of totally unsuitable Labour MPs Reeves, Lammy, Rayner, Miliband, Streeting, etc!
Sad that children grandchildren young adults will never experience what we have had walking to school on our own you could go to our navitity concerts carol singer salvation army bands playing Christmas songs we could go without any fear, of course we had our fair share of problems wasn't all rosy back in the day but we made the most of what we had and helped your neighbours most people dont even know their neighbours now the community part has gone probably because most families both parents work full time, but we had freedom to do as we wanted.
I was so angry and upset by what happened in Germany and have spent the day full of rage. Then I went to my local Sainsburys where a group of young teenagers were hanging around the chocolates and sweets. I immediately thought the worst, they were probably stealing but they weren't, they were looking for a treat without gelatine in it to surprise the Muslim lady outside selling the Big Issue. I became a bit tearful but told them how lovely they were. Kindness and love is still out there and those teens taught me a big lesson, not all Muslims are bad and most of our teenagers are great. x

We carry on because we have no choice…
I was born 1960 in Germany. We lived in a flat without central heating or hot water. No double glazing, my dad used to fix the windows from leaking with Putty which I loved as a kid as it was my playdough. We had coal delivered for the winter, stored Potatoes and Apples in the (communal) cellar, shopped on the market, had a Dairy across the road. Talking about the way we lived seems ancient and alien but we lived GREEN
Same here June, mother shopped most days, fresh food home cooked. We knew what were eating, we never had a fridge until I was 12 just a concrete slab in the pantry to keep your food cool. No car, no phone and a telly when it worked.
I'm 67, my parents had 8 kids, we did have an inside bathroom and a fridge but no central heating (until I was 11), no phone (again til I was 11), icicles on the inside of the windows. Izal or Bronco toilet roll (hard, crispy paper), hand me down clothese. My mum went shopping, as you say, every day. Everything was fresh and tasty. We were always clean and fed. We grew up happy and contented and I wouldn't change it for the world. Certainly not to be one of this anxious generation we see today.
The only thing ruining the spirit of London more than all the masses of wheeliebins is concrete and steel barriers of peace on and around our most beautiful buildings, bridges, monuments and open spaces. Merry Christmas lovely June, Dave and other beautiful creatures 🎉
It's no coincidence that the German economy is in dire straits and their government needs a distraction. It just happens that one particular religious belief system within their community is radical or radicalised enough to the point of being easily triggered into causing the required enormity. They and we are being PLAYED by people who think they are omnipotent. However, keep up the good work June.
Apparently the German government were informed of the danger of this man. If this is the case those responsible must be brought to book. Can you imagine the family who have lost a little child they count not political correctness. That’s what’s matters the families impacted but these abhorrent terrorists atrocities
My guess is that it all comes down to money. Universities are taking millions from Qatar and Saudi. Government has invented a new word that we are afraid to be accused of should we be convicted of a non crime hate crime. The government is very cowardly, too, and has not the slightest wish to upset their paymasters. Most behave like Starmer middle managers complete with his bland tones; another vital trick of theirs; to bore for England. We fall asleep hearing their kumbayas after each atrocity.
You make a great point I had forgotten the life you described we were green and living so well back in the 50/60/70"s until the politicians sold our country to China.
Since Tony Blair the UK has been encouraging and enabling the peaceful religion and they are now at a point where they feel (and with much police support) that they can get away with anything. It’s not ‘thoughts and prayers’ from the politicians it’s support and encouragement
I agree June, if they would JUST say something to make us feel like they are on OUR side for a change, and not the guilty party. but they apologise and it sounds so insincere. Sick of hearing thos 4 words... ''Lessons will be learned''. and they NEVER are.

Granny knitted our cardigans and jumpers and she knitted these vests out of a thick cotton sort of string. Hated them but my goodness they were warm. When they were worn out she would unpick them and re- knit them into dishcloths. 😂 Happy days. They were hard but we were content.
I remember my mam would go to about 6 shops to get food, this was before supermarkets. You were very rich to have a car in 60s and early 70s.
I was born at the start of the 60's June I am glad I was I know we didn't have mod cons or even a colour TV! but I loved that time in my life. People seemed to be kinder to each other and you respected your elders, I don't remember ever seeing graffiti either. We used to play out all day on the croft (as it was called) we got shouted in for meals and then out again until it started to go dark. You took me right back with this one I will stop npw as I could write a book 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Im so glad I found your channel!! You have helped and cheared me up no end over the last few months!! Best therapist ive ever had...😂 xx
Great to hear about the truly green lifestyle and industry of the 1960s and 1970s, which has been destroyed by those who now falsely profess to be ‘green’.
They are rushing things and didn't realize older people would remember when we where truly green, thought we would have all pegged it
June you are a breath of fresh air. I enjoy following you .😀👏
❤❤Thank you so much
And now you're get 6 Turkish barbers the vape shop and nail technician
Probably illegal workers
Born 1956 - Scotland - working class - parents were proud and decent - we 4 offspring all educated professionals - your description - was very much my life
We do not need more 'legislation' on the matter, we need action and a border and immigration policy rigorously enforced without fear or favour.
I’m feeling so culturally enriched this Christmas…..
Lovely remembrance chat,stories.So true.
I think it would help if the communities where these terrorist come from spoke out against these atrocities, along with the government and the MSM it would help, at the moment their silence speaks volumes to us, the populations who suffer( i wont use the word victims)
Their silence is not doing anything to help race relations in our country.
You remind me of my auntie Jean god rest her sole she didn't take fools lightly ❤
We've allowed society to be divided & broken down so much that we have to indicate what we are allowed to say!!. Isn't that the first consideration for living in N. Korea or China!?. All supported by thought police detailing those non crime incidents of national importance. Comrade Starmer may go, but Dear Leader Rayner will take the torch!.
Because the Powers That Shouldn’t Be DON’T GIVE A FECK what happens to the public. As long as they’re okay.
Thank you June for bringing back the memories 😊
But every day we are importing possible
Threats!
I agree with all your sentiments June!
more British people died in WW1 (than WW2) but we didn't import the 3rd world to work in the mills etc
No, but it became part of a much greater agenda for the future which is now with us. Nothing happens by accident in politics.
Every action has an opposite reaction
Love your podcasts June. You always make sense.
They help us to see the optimism even in such dire situations as this.
All good wishes to you and yours over the festive season.❤
.. politicians platitudes mean nothing we want decisive action...and a real determination to do something about it !!...not just words or a bunch of flowers then sit back and do nothing ....
I can’t believe how weak Europe’s governments are .
I dont know why politicians are being paid. They are doing nothing whatsoever, but harm.
The outrage against Islam isn't real, most will fund Islam by going for a Halal takeaway tonight.
And buy Warburton's bread etc
Hospital halal food.
You make a very good point, I have stopped using any service like that including taxis cheap shops and most takeaways
Why support the grass that hides the serpent.
Very real for some of us,hopefully more people will wake up😊
These days if you say you're English you get arrested and thrown in jail
Getting new school shoe's was a scary event with the parents, luv your personality & passion
This is what Starmer is putting his hand to in support.
It is very strange that they are allowing people to talk about this without threatening us with prison?
Amen June, make Britain great again, follow Jesus.
Has Jesus got a plan for reviving the economy, the skills shortage, the housing market?
Well said 👏👏 don't forget the rabbits 👍
June,
Spot on again.
As a 72 year old June I can identify with everything you say. My mother shopped every day. Dinner was ready every night. I never asked for money for the ‘tuck’ shop but had some biscuits for a snap. I loved the woollen blankets which my mother washed by hand till she died. Id wake up and say I didn’t feel well but still had to go to school. If I was sick, she would know. Re immigrants. We’re all just people. But! This Sharia law and terror stuff should be stopped by law and the perpetrators sent ‘home’ wherever that may be. Love one another. An eye for an eye. We’re getting taken for ‘mugs’!
Join Reform wear your badges with pride to support Britain not pride to be weird.
Born in 1946 and I can agree with everything you said June. We had nothing but had everything, today they are clueless, they wouldn’t know how to grow a spud, let alone save the planet. 👏👏👏
You are so right June. We have been let down so badly by consecutive governments.
Labour are re-active not pro-active which has been been the situ for many years!
They are unfit for purpose, I have never met such an appalling government, the leader is ultimately liable.
All MP's should be vetted! Only third generation uk residents should be allowed imo!
The root cause of issues needs addressed, our country & residents needs to be safe of which neither applies and it WAS avoidable!
Stop sending our hard earned taxes abroad especially to terrorist countries, our own country comes first, our pensioners, our cost of living and energy costs!
Wishing you a merry Christmas and a happy new year! Thank you for being here and keeping us sane, in these dangerous/trying/worrying times! ❤❤❤
Kindness and love is still out there and those teens taught me a big lesson, not all Muslims are bad and most of our teenagers are great. x
I miss all them shops June my mum went shopping and did butchers then grocers and so on and we all had to walk to school and no cars to pick us up sometimes u got to school soaking and u stayed wet all day
The problem is June.. “we’ve got used to it”… when those Jets hit the twin towers we were all gobsmacked… when the Tube trains and the Bus were blown up we were all gobsmacked… but every attack every cold bloodied murder that’s happened since is like 🤷🏻♂️… what’s on the telly… we are immune now to babies being stabbed to death, little girls being abused and raped, vehicles driven into crowds… it’s “oh well another attack”… Britain has become Numb because it’s our coping mechanism.. We carry on because we have no choice…
Thanks for reminding me of every day life in the 1950s & 60s without a car. And of an 84 hour week for a meagre £2.00.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, June 💝
Love your parting comments June, couldnt have said it better myself from a Yorkshire lass born in the 50's. God bless you June x
Well said the good old days
I think the west is sick of the platitudes and the elected officials doing nothing about it, but instead rewards this behavior.
Well said as always june , I hate what our once great country as turned into , I'd go back in heart beat to the way things were.
A blight on our heritage none of which should ever have been conceeded in the first place. Your description of the bygone world I still remember brought a tear to my eye.
And 1 day later a lady is set on fire and dies by the usual suspect on the NY subway....
When I did my degree with OU I was a “post War”, now I am called a “Boomer”
Our political class are worse than useless.
We do still believe in Jesus😊
Living in the same town as you June, I concur with everything you've said here. Xx
Well said June you've hit the nail on the head keep up the good work
I agree June, if they would JUST say something to make us feel like they are on OUR side for a change, and not the guilty party. but they apologise and it sounds so insincere. Sick of hearing thos 4 words... ''Lessons will be learned''. and they NEVER are.
Shame on you June, you never mentioned the long line of people that were standing from 10am for the Jumble sales starting at 2pm. The jumble sales are ever so posh now, they are called second hand shops that have no 10p or 50p bargains. lol
Ooo I used to love a jumble sale 😊 I mostly buy all my clothes from charity shops, not my drawers obviously 😂
