I tried a trench set one time when I first started, and really didn't understand the concept. I was just doing it by rote. I did a lot of dirt holes earlier, because I had it in my mind that that was the way to really attract one, and I guess it is in a way, but with the hard ground I have I really don't do it much anymore unless I have had a rain recently.
Hey Ed great tip about the fallen tree trap setting ,as always great video. I would love to be able to trap in the dirt like the dirt on that field edge. Thanks Ed
I caught 90% of my k9's this season flatsets, trenches didnt seem to work much. But the flatset got em almost everytime

i like puting in cable slides or a good drag to preserve the location this is a great set and it will catch a coyote .

I stopped using them 20 years ago. I see no advantage to using them
