It’s very rare for a band to keep putting out good music after 20 years. The Almighty takes it a step further, and keeps on getting BETTER with age. ALL HAIL 🙌🌊🏄♂️
+ i heard they blew out their speakers, probably for this song in the studio, lol. so it is not digitally pixeled, it is like raw recording if i remember correctly.
Norma Jean is one of those bands who's name I've seen all over the place throughout the years but never bothered to check out. God damn this is fcking FIRE
I still listen to A Small Spark vs. A Great Forest and Blueprints For Future Homes to this day. They've been a permanent part of my life since I first heard them so it's great to see them still going strong.
God damn this has such amazing Haste the Day vibes in certain parts man. I miss that band so much, haste the day and norma jean take me back to being 14 in 2004 and laying in bed at night sleeping so peacefully to the chaos. Also love the old school BTMKTC ending to this banger.
Does anyone else love it when Cory sings? Norma jean became my favorite band in their later albums because of the screaming with the singing. His voice may not be the stereotypical singing voice people look for but the energy and passion he expresses in his singing that builds into screams is why I go back to normal jean as my favorite music for years now.
Cory is a TRUE musician!!! Dude plays everything and is a KEY part of the COMPLETE writing/recording/engineering process and as a musician HOW can you NOT @ the VERY least respect the HELL out of the guy!?!? But idk how everyone doesn't just start grooving Ace Ventura style everytime any Norma Jean drops!!! Fuck that distortion @ the end tho 🤯
Daniel Davison on drums, Scottie Henry and Chris Day on guitars, Jake Schultze on bass, Cory on vocals, Matt Putman on percussions, Ross Robinson as the producer and Ryan Boesch as the sound engineer. Redeemer had top notch, A list of the names, working on the album. It is probably the most strongest i can think of!
The Almighty have fucking done it again! This bad is criminally underrated. They consistently put out killer and ever evolving music. All hail the almighty Norma Jean!
Cory is so pissed off, oh maaan. I love his gut wrenching growls. Nothing is more engaging, than when vocalist is stressing his voice out. The song structure is so odd again and i love the distortion. Guitars are again so textured and multi-layered, the bass is punching through the chaos, there is lot of ambience going on and the atmosphere is so unique. I am also so happy, that Cory during the clean vocal passage didn´t used autotune. THANK GOD for Norma Jean. And yeah, surprise. At the end of the song, Norma Jean went straight up into Noise Rock realm, fuck yeah. And Matthew, you are an awesome drummer! After Goose and Daniel, who would ever guess, that the drum fills will be still so engaging and unique.
Ahahah Jack, I was waiting for your comment! 🤘 Always on point! This track is so raw and powerful. After this track any other Metal Core band is just like Pop music
@@Rocko76 Lol exactly, this sound is literally physical. Nothing like "yeah, cool melody i like it", but more like "okey, i want to throw myself through the wall", hahahahaa!

Then you must not have listened to All Hail. This is just a continuation from that album. Highly recommend it. I, also, was never a giant NJ fan until All Hail came out and its still 1 of my fav albums to listen to.
Been here since O God The Aftermath. Honestly, Cory just keeps this band so fresh with every album. There are weak albums and strong albums just like most bands out there but I believe since Wrongdoers, Norma Jean have really been on a role with just solid album releases. Wrongdoers, Polar Similar, All Hail and now this upcoming album which this song is a glimpse into just puts a smile on my face to see this band really be in a groove. If you like this song check out Landslide Defeater, If you got it at 5 You got it at 50 and maybe Synthetic Sun.
wow is all i have to say, this song is filthy.. the tone is out of this world.. congratulations to Norma Jean for yet again solidifying the place on my favorite bands list again..
Listened several times now and WTF? It's just so magnificent, it has everything. Seriously congrats to NJ for creating such a fantastic piece of music once again!
I just started listening to deathrattle today tho and wow…. It’s different. It’s brazenly brutal and different. This band doesn’t stagnate and eventually become generic.. they keep evolving and eventually will make everything ELSE sound generic. I highly recommend you start at the beginning and listen through death rattle my friends
I needed this right now. I've been listening to Norma Jean for over a decade now. The longer I listen to them, the harder it hits. I'm glad they're still making music.
I have been a fan of this band for well over a decade. I cannot BELIEVE how good of music they are still capable of writing. So many metal bands go the route of turning into radio rock bands, and norma has continously pumped out great album after great album. I was so-so on the previous single, but THIS is fantastic. From a fan that has followed you guys since Redeemer dropped.... i love it

THIS SONG IS AMAZING. I can't remember the last time IK was this excited for new music.
What an absolute unit of a song. The evolution of each section was outstanding. The song could have ended at that last chorus and still be an A level track, but they pushed it and scored themselves an A+ track. This is already a top 10 NJ track of all time for me. That's my take too about that last section elevating this track. I was absolutely not expecting it. Normal progression had already been completed, then they obliterated. To my taste the track was C+ , but that ending took it to A-
