When people become corpses, they become flammable, since decaying bodies release gas. Zoros attack had so much heat he caught on fire. Also, this is why the other zombies are afraid of fire
The fact zorro say this duel was never happened because mad respect of Ryuma one of best samurai in Wano in his prime. He didn't want acknowledge win over Ryuma because he is not in his prime and will damage name of one greatest samurai of wano.
The implication is that Zoro struck with such force that the friction of the blade passing through lit him on fire. Sort of how Sanji's Diable Jambe start up is him spinning so fast his foot lights up. But also don't worry about it. :D Either way no salt was involved in that fight.
Zoro vs. Ryuma may have been brief, but it was certainly intense. Now, our bony friend has his shadow back, while Zoro gets a new sword! 😉 BTW, dunno if it's been mentioned yet, but Ryuma's story literally predates One Piece. Oda drew the one-shot about him (titled "Monsters") a few years before he started OP. Check it out if you can! The younger Ryuma may look awfully familiar to you guys.....
the three earrings on zoro's ears are not just decorations but indicate how many sword techniques he masters because he has three then he is a master of three sword styles 😅.
Zoro vs. Ryuuma is one of those fights that are not reaaally explained in the series... my interpretation is that the fire is from Zoro's attack, a manifestation of his energy (the correct term will appear in a couple dozen episodes) and that the fire is so intense that it destroys the mario completely thus freeing the shadow... but that is only my interpretation after watching the fight a couple dozen times and with info that is shared further down the series.
so you gotta give props to Brook here even though he isn't as powerful as Zoro or Ryuma their opening attacks were enough for him to get a good sense of their power and how the battle would play out
The kanji shown last is Ryû from Ryûma and it means (chinese) dragon (those long dragons ike Shenron in Dragon ball, not the ones from european medieval lores like... in Dragon Quest or something).
Man, it feels like yesterday I watched this episode one of my favorite cause of how relevant this will come back of the great sword shusui of the land of wano & this coming up episode being abt Zoro let’s GO I waited two years for this episode 🎉
Wano saga is second last saga of the series and it's currently airing, it is surpassing and breaking every record, so we are waiting for you at land of wano, come at any cost

Not in his prime and definitely NOT his own techniques but brook's instead
That's cuz those weren't ryuma's own techniques and he had to make do with brook's

How'd he get the fire? It's cuz his fight was Lit.
I love the way the previous episode makes you think Zoro lost and then they go back and show the truth.
He luckily got there 😂

I think his slash was so fast that it ended burning him, like a match getting struck against the box
