      Easier said than done. You can't avoid processed food and stress with a very competitive society. Also no way to stop growing old. Singapore by nature is a very competitive society and I don't see it changing. In fact, it's only going to get worse.

      Can try to eat less or avoid process food. Diet changes are easier to maintain. Lifestyle inflation really depends on how someone wants to stay in the rat race.

    There will have to be a fat tax at some point (based on waist-to-height ratio). Over eating is just like taking drugs, smoking, and drinking-human beings are weak when seeking short-term happiness when the cost is paid in the future, and paid by the collective society.

    Government affiliated insurance companies like income and singlife could consider introducing packages to partner with Malaysian hospitals for medical tourism. Penang, KL and Johor privtae hospitals are popular choices for wealthy indonesians. This could pressure other pvt insurers to follow. This would help reduce the cost of treatments.

    With healthcare costs on the rise in Singapore, many are questioning why we can’t have free healthcare or more subsidies. However, the reality is that rising costs are driven by factors like an ageing population and inflation, and balancing a sustainable healthcare system isn’t easy.
    As the government prepares to raise MediShield Life premiums in April 2025 to cover higher claim limits and emerging treatments like gene therapy, it raises a bigger question: Are we, as individuals, preparing ourselves for these rising costs? How are we adjusting our lifestyles and financial plans to cope with the increasing burden of healthcare?
    Are we doing enough to take control of our health and savings to avoid being overwhelmed by future healthcare expenses? What steps are you taking to stay ahead?
    There will be more questions than answers as we move forward too!

    If you compare healthcare around the world, even places like S.Korea, it's WAY cheaper than Singapore. Boils down to corporate greed. Even medicine cost way way cheaper across the borders. Don't be a sucker to all these large corporation. Same medicine, cost 3 times the price. Madness.

    • @KatJade269
      @KatJade269 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can’t compare in this way. Singapore, despite its population size still does not have the “economy of scale” to spread out the costs vs S Korea (as the example you gave). Individually, can go JB to buy. I heard it’s way cheaper and now with the exchange rate, maybe even cheaper.
