I had the privilege to meet Libby Riddles many years ago when I attended a “WOMEN OF THE WILDERNESS” vacation in Alaska. It has to be 20-30 years or more ago. Two of her Iditarod sled dogs were still alive but very old and infirm. She was a very lovely lady and what was so surprising was that she looked like a fragile ENGLISH BEAUTY with flawless skin. Totally not what I expected. We also got to meet two other women mushers. My two favorite states are Alaska and Montana for their sheer rugged beauty.
Hi Ton. Libby Riddles is truly an Alaskan legend and an inspiration to many of our guests who had the chance to meet her and her dogs. Thank you for sharing and we hope to welcome you back sometime soon. 💙
Tell the bit about her lead dog "Sister" who knew that the ice had shifted and floated around, re-orienting the direction of the trail, and who ignored a command that helped win the race.
