@@cajunking5987 everyone stims. That’s a fact. Neurodivergent people stim more often than neurotypical people. People with OCD are neurodivergent and Dan has OCD. These are facts. Stimming isn’t a bad thing. Examples of “normal” (neurotypical) people stimming, is stepping on a crunchy dry leaf for the sound, tapping fingers/feet rhythmically, bouncing leg, playing with hair etc. it’s not a negative thing.

I literally watched bronies deep dive mlp lore not because I cared or had ever seen an episode, but because hearing other people hyperfixate with media literacy made me feel really cozy and excited. 99% of the time listening to other people infodump about things they put so much passion into is better than most forms of entertainment. I can’t know everything but other people can know their 1+ things really thoroughly and I can listen to them and that’s basically as good 😊 It turns out

Personal story, I actually liked singing “The Ants Go Marchin’” to stim, and once during a project in biology class somebody had to ask me to stop because I imagine it was super annoying to the rest of my classmates.
As a life long fan of RUSH, all of those albums have great stuff on them. Not a huge fan of Hold Your Fire through Roll The Bones, but those albums all have some amazing material. There's a reason they were one of the biggest prog bands in the world and toured for 40+ years.
I remember moments like this a lot in the ranking videos. I cant remember which one but Dan talks about how he takes apart sandwiches becuse he doesnt like eating the ingredients together
bro knowing that dan is also iffy and particular about food makes me actually feel a lot better bc i am a very picky eater and trying new foods is like mental gymnastics for me but im also friends w a lot of like asian ppl (im white and friends w an indian boy, a chinese girl, a korean girl, and multiple hispanic people) so i get made fun of quite a bit (lovingly but still) for only eating like a plain hamburger (literally a hamburger and the bun, sometimes pickles bc i like pickles bc salt) but like it makes me feel better to know that like yk a grown ass man is like this too and hes a semi functioning member of society so its okay :D

I relate so hard to that mlp lore text xD I once had my friend read random synopsis for me/say what characters were in an episode to see if I could guess the episode. The amount of time I got the name of the episode, which season and which number episode correct (and also able to describe the full plot of the rest of the episode) with little to no hesitation was I think starting to make my friend worried for my sanity/simultaneously impressed that I could remember full episodes from as little as a few words of details. (My friend was like "theres 9 seasons of this! How tf do you know every episode??") Special interest/hyperfixation go brrrrr

Aw, man, you’ve never heard of Rush? I don’t mean to sound rude lol, but I would definitely recommend them if you like classic rock or progressive rock. I’ve been getting into them too, and so far “Moving Pictures” and “2112” are my favorite albums of theirs. I also love their song “Time Stand Still” which Dan has actually covered with the Super Guitar Brothers. But yes, their album names and art are always super cool.

Do you wanna know what's really funny I was just watching this like a normal video of them not even thinking about the fact that this was the neurodivergent video I specifically clicked on because I'm autistic and I do all of this stuff normally so I'm very used to it as my norm so I wasn't even thinking about it being neurodivergent traits ironically enough
This is kinda unrelated, and I dont mean to hate on the creator of this video, but... I dont like how the internets sort of "romanticized" neurodivergence. Being neurodivergent isnt a quirky personality trait, its usually more of a problem. Me personally, I have been diagnosed with ADHD and most likely some form of autism, and I can safely say its done more harm than good. Sure, I know how to draw Sonic the hedgehog, but I also dont know how to talk to people. Like, I physically do not know how. again, NO HATE to the creator. just something that reeeeally bugs me.
I completely understand! My aim for this video is to not only to have a few laughs, but to show neurodiverse joy, which is rarely shown. However, I am aware that not everyone has the privilege of feeling that sort of joy, whether it be because of its traits making it difficult to live or because not everyone has accommodations/support systems. I also don’t seek to romanticize any condition, but just to tell some jokes and show that neurodivergent people can be successful, even if that has many different definitions. I don’t know if that was a concern for you, but I want you to know that this video is purely to relate to my own experience. If you want a more analytical view of ADHD and autism, I have a Bluey video that talks about heavier topics and presents things in a more logical way.

I relate so hard to that mlp lore text xD I once had my friend read random synopsis for me/say what characters were in an episode to see if I could guess the episode. The amount of time I got the name of the episode, which season and which number episode correct (and also able to describe the full plot of the rest of the episode) with little to no hesitation was I think starting to make my friend worried for my sanity/simultaneously impressed that I could remember full episodes from as little as a few words of details. (My friend was like "theres 9 seasons of this! How tf do you know every episode??") Special interest/hyperfixation go brrrrr

Aw, man, you’ve never heard of Rush? I don’t mean to sound rude lol, but I would definitely recommend them if you like classic rock or progressive rock. I’ve been getting into them too, and so far “Moving Pictures” and “2112” are my favorite albums of theirs. I also love their song “Time Stand Still” which Dan has actually covered with the Super Guitar Brothers. But yes, their album names and art are always super cool.

Do you wanna know what's really funny I was just watching this like a normal video of them not even thinking about the fact that this was the neurodivergent video I specifically clicked on because I'm autistic and I do all of this stuff normally so I'm very used to it as my norm so I wasn't even thinking about it being neurodivergent traits ironically enough

This is kinda unrelated, and I dont mean to hate on the creator of this video, but...
I dont like how the internets sort of "romanticized" neurodivergence. Being neurodivergent isnt a quirky personality trait, its usually more of a problem.
Me personally, I have been diagnosed with ADHD and most likely some form of autism, and I can safely say its done more harm than good.
Sure, I know how to draw Sonic the hedgehog, but I also dont know how to talk to people. Like, I physically do not know how.

I completely understand! My aim for this video is to not only to have a few laughs, but to show neurodiverse joy, which is rarely shown. However, I am aware that not everyone has the privilege of feeling that sort of joy, whether it be because of its traits making it difficult to live or because not everyone has accommodations/support systems. I also don’t seek to romanticize any condition, but just to tell some jokes and show that neurodivergent people can be successful, even if that has many different definitions. I don’t know if that was a concern for you, but I want you to know that this video is purely to relate to my own experience.
If you want a more analytical view of ADHD and autism, I have a Bluey video that talks about heavier topics and presents things in a more logical way.
