Thank you to whomever at Porsche for fixing the visual insult the original car was. This one looks great! Also great review Marek! Always entertaining and informative!
I really like it. The modernized and minimalist interior fits this car. I also appreciate that Porsche offers 2 plug-in hybrid options, with well chosen motor + engine + gearbox setups.
Cool review, very enjoyable. Had the pleasure of driving one of these bad boys with the chrono package a week or so ago. The sad thing is I'll never own a car as beautiful as this. The sports response mode has to be felt to be believed- it's brutal, in the best way.
It is the first time another channel's video appears in between your two (English and Polish version of your videos) videos in my subscription list. You got a bit late for the Polish version this time haha!
Good review, my friend. Car is also good. As for me I prefer more square-shape design, however I cannot afford these cars as well. )) At least we have a VW CC and Phaeton to choose.
Is that infotainment system also better than what's on the new JLR 2017 and 2018 models? Jaguar and Land Rover have really revamped their infotainment system as well. I also love what's on the new 7 series as well, I would like to see how what's on this Porsche is better than both.
If by 2017/2018 JLR infotainment you mean this th-cam.com/video/VsOsMHLVclM/w-d-xo.htmlm49s then Porsche is better. Watch out for the new 5 Series (today) and 7 Series (next couple of weeks) review. I talk about the infotainment there as well. IMO iDrive with its controller has hit a wall.
Marek Drives there's even a newer one just unveiled in the Velar, but I have seen several reviews of this one u sent me the link and it seems fast and responsive enough. So what makes the Porsche better and the new 7 series also has a touch screen with the option of the I drive rotary dial. You have two options in the BMW and the touchscreen is very responsive like the one in the Jag as well. So I'll really like to know what makes this Porsche infotainment system better? Cause the graphics you showed here in different segments looks inferior to what's on the Jag and BMW. The screen just looks sharper on the other two, hope u don't mind answering. I haven't tested this Porsche and it'll be hard for me to do that as Porsche hardly sells where I live with only one dealer in the entire country.
I don't know, what the put in the Velar. The news broke a couple days ago, so I don't think there are any proper reviews out there yet. As far as iDrive is concerned, IMO it's not a true touch screen solution, because the screen is too far. You have to lean towards it to reach it. Yes, you can use it, but the dial (with touchpad) remains the main interface. In Porsche the screen is in the right place, it's very responsive, and (IMO) the interface very logically laid out. BMW changed the menu again, so you have to learn where the features are. Sure, you set it up all once, store it with key or driver profile, and just use sat nav and radio most of the time. But I feel if you really want to use the features available on many cars these days, Porsche makes it possible, whereas the others just offer the features, you're never going to use.
Marek Drives Ok I get that, it's more intuitive. I understand completely, I hope one day I'll get the opportunity to test this Porsche out may be if I travel out later in the year.
The air vents controls are ridiculous, also, some of the touch controls on the center column are not the best solution in my opinion. When driving, you occasionally rest your hand on the center column or the gear stick...finding yourself turning up the passenger seat heating :) Generaly, I think the controls for air condition etc should not be on a touch screen, but regular physical buttons an knobs....but that`s just me...I`m old school :)
MrMirosz its honestly much safer when its buttons aswell. Tapping on a big screen while driving rather than just tapping one button is way more dangerous.
The sport response button is a bit pointless. How about a two stage throttle that has a very stiff "button" at the last milimeter? Kinda like the kickdown button of old american automatic transmission cars. Just a lot stiffer so that you don't press it without meaning to.
That's why I say it should be a "button" at the end of the pedal travel that is actually hard to press. That way you only activate it when you want to. It should start the countdown when really floored, and after that you can modulate the throttle just fine.
I get what you're saying, but in this scenario you'd have to start accelerating, before the car is ready to give you everything. You end up with fully open throttle, and then you get even more boost. You could lose control. The button on the steering wheel lets you prepare the car for action, and wait a couple of seconds, and then for example start overtaking.
Makes sense. Maybe it would work better with a 250-ish hp car where the turbo lag is bigger. You could kick it and then wait for the opportunity to overtake.
In my English reviews I use German prices. Premium cars tend to be slightly more expensive in Poland (excise and other taxes), but mass cars are sometimes cheaper. Germans living close to the border often buy cars in Poland, and save 1-2k euro. Cars in Europe are generally way more expensive, than in the US. However some US-spec cars are of lower quality, than their Euro-spec counterparts.
+Marek Drives correct on all accounts, but don't forget that prices in Germany include 19% VAT, which will vary from country to country and in the U.S. they do NOT include any taxes or fees in their list price... you get to find out the final price at the dealership once you are convinced you want the car, by that time what is another 8-10%. ;)
Dave Travels Delaware is the tax-free shopping state. In addition to having no sales tax, Delaware is a generally tax-friendly place, with relatively low income tax rates (2.2%-6.6%), no vehicle taxes, and one of the lowest real estate tax rates in the U.S. there are 4 other states with no sales tax at all as of 2017.
szacun za angielski! naprawde bijesz na glowe wiekszosc polskich dziennikarzy, ktorych jak slysze w tv mowiacych po angielsku to czasami az wstyd... :/
Clever car companies keep the driver preoccupied so you have to put in the crash avoidance systems in then in four years time out of warranty for £20,000 car will be scrapped for a microchip ! All the more money for them.
I just think that driver aids make people lazy which is dangerous Anyway if the owner doesn't kill the car or electronics rust will just killed my mark 2.5 MX5 failed its MOT!

Had a chance to drive one and i agree with you, it really has no faults and in my eyes it is on the Top 3 list best cars

unbelievable piece of evolution! Good one Marek!
Great video Marek, great car.
I think i've never seen you wearing gloves before. It must be a very cold winter! Fantastic review as usual, good job Marek!
I wear them rarely to avoid mixups in shots, like here (ignition, sport response). But yes, it was quite chilly.
Cool review, very enjoyable.

Quality review, with pepper and salt.
But you will be cut off from BMW’s pay check list.
Jesteś gość!
Pozdrawiam
Optical it fits not to my learjet :-D (As usual, very nice review)
Only Premium cars out there.... I love the big P.
Good review, my friend. Car is also good.

Hmmmm I'm a bit hot now how do those vents move again????
At 180mph!!!!!!!!
I don't want too look at my satnav at 90!
Nice video
Greg uk
I suppose you're not going to adjust manual air vents at 180 mph either :)
Wonder if auto minus breaking works 180 miles at an hour?
Oldsmobile did the 4 door coupe early 90s with the aurora.
That was a "sports sedan" :)

I would expect it to have something similar to palm rejection on phones and tablets. Someone should test this.
they did on a czech car tv show, that's how i know...unfortunately i don't own the new panamera :-)
it was one of their complaints

Hi Marek please can you do the test of the new Peugeot 301 Hdi
Please, no!!!
😂😂😂😂😂
So what are the front wheels doing? :))) are they having a pijama party?
They type away replies to TH-cam comments.
:)))
cristiandemirel1918 steering? I guess

You have to be able to modulate the throttle. Simply flooring it doesn't solve it.

A może teraz SKODA KODIQ???
Udało mi się umówić test dopiero na maj, więc do tego czasu #nikogo. Ale dziękuję za zainteresowanie.

Look at it this way: 20-30 years ago there were less cars on the road, people were less distracted, etc.

Mateusz Nowicki Cebulaku, nie spamuj tu komentarzami. Napisz w polskiej recenzji. Po to to jest...
How is it possible? German Engineering I would wager...
It might be a nice car, but I would rather get a loaded RS6 for the price of base spec Panamera.
Everyone seems to be driving an Audi these days :)
I just think that driver aids make people lazy which is dangerous

What sort of electronic problem killed a NB?
Amazing car. But unifortunately so far beyond my reach.
Dieter Fontaine reach for the skies and you'll get one
4 door coupe, ok
