Okay, how do you always end up fighting Omega Red, Colossus, and Doctor Doom on the first fight every time?
Honestly, I'm not sure. It could be a PSN version only thing. It's the one consistent thing from every time I've done a playthrough of this game.
Omega Red, Colossus and Doctor Doom are the first opponents in Marvel VS Capcom 2 unless you cancel the fight against them and play again or lose against them and continue, at least that´s what happens in the Xbox 360.
Me and a friend play a lot of the PS2 version, can confirm it's different every time you do Arcade. Might only be the PSN/XBL versions.
It at least prepares you for the first fight, makes you think what are the weaknesses of omega red, Colossus and Doctor doom

Well, I was being foolish, Morrigan's hair is green, it's just a lighter green than the one they use for her profile picture.
What is more foolish is how they can reuse the same Morrigan Sprite for 8 games
