    Hey Bob! Nice to see some Green content!
    I've been on a bit of a break, trying not to get consumed in Green, but here I am, back at it! Winter is nearly here too, so I'll be on there probably way too much.
    Looking forward to your future vids mate,
    Cheers

    Tip for The Feerrot. (All Turn-ins for Oggok) Lizard Meat to SK leader (4, not stacked) for 2h sword, Lizard Tail to Warrior guild guy with an H for random rawhide pieces (4 tails). Good money doing both. Lizard men all around the road from Oggok to Inno Swamp. That'll get you 1-5 in no time.

    On a new server, there are plenty of reasons to go Barbarian. One, you can do a quest right out of the gate to get a 'summon magic weapon' amulet. Second, you're next to Blackburrow and Qeynos Hills which are chock full of good xp+money quests. You'll get to level up to 15 and have plat to spare after buying all of your spells! Third, and most importantly, you need way less xp to get to 50! Sure, regen is great, but dinging faster is even better. You unlock spells faster, which beats any racial ability or stat bonus, and when paired with the better starting area with regards to quests and money, yeah, Barbarians got a lot going on for them.
    Oh, and they get to wear a polar bear hat.

      Unfortunately the initiate symbol quests are not in at the start. According to a thread on the forums they won't be in for a year or so. :( That won't stop me from making a Barbarian Shaman myself. They just look so damn cool.

    There is only 1 choice unless your just a casual player. Its Troll. and then Iksar in Kunark. there are no other choices. Ogre stun immunity is sooooo fucking minor compared to Troll regen - which is helping you EVERY SINGLE FUCKING SECOND IN THE GAME. youll Canni far far less, early Regen will feel like later Regen's. Troll/Iksar regen = more mana to root, to heal, to dot, to gate, to buff. Everything. Relying on Ogre Stun immunity is shit compared to having the mana to just root the mob....

    • @hawkmoon7930
      @hawkmoon7930 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      this 100%. and Trolls look cool. Ogre's look dumb AF just a lameass round blob. trolls scratch their butts. Barbarian is the idiot choice, fact.

      I’ve done the comparison between troll and ogre for sk and ogre wins hands down. It may be troll for shaman, but once you have torpor, ogre wins again. Plus ogre has more hp. Ogre is really hard to see behind as a caster. Troll is better if you are in the back. Ogre If you’re in the front or solo.

    • @Smullik
      @Smullik 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      an Ogre shaman and a Troll shaman soloing the same velious mobs, Ogre will be more successful hands down. Soloing Lodi is a long fight, but as an ogre it is just a math equation of player mana and health vs NPC health where with a troll it adds in the RNG of a stun.

    For shaman I think you're right about frontal stun immunity. For shadowknight I think regen is better. I played an ogre sk on live for a long time and never really benefited from FSI, I did play a troll sk on blue up to level 35 and noticed that the regen had my health coming back as fast as my mana, sometimes faster.

    With bear form added later on, as well as wall tricks for banking, it mitigates being evil almost 100%. I'd say really the only downside to being the evil races is the -exp penalty, and the physical size/appearance(subjective) of Trolls/Ogres. I put it down to play what you think aesthetically looks the most appealing. If you don't like the look of a certain race i.e. Ogre(commonly considered min/max choice), you won't get far enough into the game to where the extra stats the Ogre may provide even matters, for example. I, myself am an Iksar Shaman, and have ZERO regrets. I think the size of him is perfect, the Epic doesn't clip into the floor, everything looks good and scales well on the Iksar model, the shield size etc... Ogres do have a certain something special as well, I just dislike their legs and the look from behind, and just how massive they are and doing places like highkeep is a pain in the ass.

    I know this is old, but if there's another server launch, for all the complaints about looks: Dark Elf Shaman is the best looking shaman, so your starting race means nothing :). This is what I played on live from launch til EQ2.

  • @dragonsickness4561

    Iksar gonna be ur best bet. If you have to make a shaman before Iksar is released then go Barbarian for the CHA/STA/AGI balance (If you know how to use CHA properly). Large races made great Beastlords thanks to slam and Ogre stun immunity, but were pretty much obsolete during Kunark/Velious era. This fact is partly why they released large-race-playable Beastlords after Velious - to buff the large races (imo). Id still roll iksar BST in SoL tho. Dope Video.

    • @Smullik
      @Smullik 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pick barbarian for CHA and AGI? Big oof

    • @dragonsickness4561
      @dragonsickness4561 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Smullik pre-kunark I'd go Ogre and leave him lvl 52 for naggy/vox. Then roll iksar for the CHA/AGI. Every stat will be capped if u pump CHA at creation. Having max CHA gives u a life-save proc when u use DI buff. It's very useful.

    • @Smullik
      @Smullik 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dragonsickness4561 So your argument for going iksar is their charisma that buffs an RNG factor so when you DO die you are more likely to come back.
      You know what the leading cause of death to a shaman face tanking lodi or soloing royal kromrif bloods? RNG in the form of Getting stunned. You completely remove that variable by choosing Ogre.
      Completely remove an RNG variable with Ogre or slightly improve the odds of one requiring you to have died by going iksar....
      Ogre. It's a no brainer.

    • @dragonsickness4561
      @dragonsickness4561 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Smullik yea. Those stuns are np with torp/slow on. Also if you're referring to kick stuns the iksar avoidance bonus helps avoid those too. Ogre only for naggy/vox slowing basically. Can leave them at lvl 52 and don't need to worry about gear too much. STA/WIS will alrdy be OP.
      DI won't be used when you're soloing anyways. That's more for grouping or raid mobs with very big AEs like the dragon who guards ToV. DI is meant to be used in fights where you're likely going to die regardless of what you do, but those are usually burn fights where the death-save is a game changer.

    • @Smullik
      @Smullik 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dragonsickness4561 Iksar Avoidance? So thats another RNG variable you are slightly reducing (and I mean SLIGHTLY, less than 10% and that is being generous) over completely negating that chance by going Ogre
      Let's go to the numbers...
      Starting Ogre SHM stats: 130 STR / 127 STA / 70 AGI / 70 DEX / 77 WIS / 42 CHA
      Starting Barbarian SHM: 103 STR / 100 STA / 82 AGI / 70 DEX / 80 WIS / 60 CHA
      Starting Iksar SHM: 70 STR / 75 STA / 90 AGI / 85 DEX / 90 WIS / 60 CHA
      That is a 20 AGI difference for Iksars, completely negligible, definitely not earning the title of "Iksar Avoidance"
      Actually, possibly less because Ogres need to put 5 points to bump their AGI to 75 to prevent AC loss, so 15 difference vs an Iksar who went WIS or CHA
      And an 18 charisma difference, no comment needed.
      So a 20 AGI difference, and an additional 18 charisma, plus Iksar's regen (which honestly is what I would use if I was to make an argument FOR iksar) vs. complete frontal stun immunity AND the ability to STILL go into AGI or CHA if desired, since if we are using Kunark/Velious era Wisdom and Stamina will still be capped for Ogres.
      It's Ogre
