What was the Hitch cost including installation charges? Did you fell any issue while changing the lane on toll way or free way? Also at what max speed you drove the car?
Does your CRV have a transmission cooler since there are small hills on the route? I see that the rear was squatted so did you have any problem in maneuvering? How much total weight you had including in the trailer & CRV?
@@TechFollower The very first thing to consider while towing is transmission cooler which is usually mounted in-front of the AC condenser which uses air to cool down transmission fluid temperature (very important). Newer CRVs are equipped with CVT transmission which are mediocre & cost-cutting technology designed to increase the fuel economy, but known to fail & Honda built CVT are way to complex to fix & cost over 4 grand & higher. In fact, many rebuild CVTs will fail within 50K due to the nature of complexity. Just because you can doesn't mean you should! Of course, you compromised the longevity of the vehicle & I doubt if there is a proper way to even haul correctly with under powered engine & worst, mounted with a CVT. It is OK since you are a newbie, but you gotta let the viewers know what I told you since you dont want viewers to jeopardizing their lives & substantially decreasing life of their vehicle.
@@desi4lyfe379 what you think about the older crvs towing? Like 2010 style. Or the 2012s after the new body. 1500lbs should be fine. Just watch the hills
It should be safe if you stay below the 1500 lb limit. But I would not try to tow max capacity for a too long range. I would worry about maintaining speed on hills and acceleration. Other than that the CRV has good torque and is a powerful small motor that should not have trouble keeping up speed with traffic on flat roads.
@@garyalford9394 I forget which transmission that the new ones have. My friend has a 2014 with a 5 speed. The transmission is jittery sometimes and it fails to turn over when we start it cold sometimes. BUt other than that, its a solidish economy suv with decent power
In Au the crv is rated at 3300lbs braked. A bit over kill I would say but I tow my side by side behind my crv using a 5x8 trailer. U.s market lowerers the tow rating way down
I driven more then 1000 miles... but I make stop around every two hours to check and make sure everything good...and my speed usually under 50 miles...and mostly driving in right lane...if somebody tailgate you then show them emergency flashing lights to let them know I am not moving
@@kishoremyvideo just proper hitch joint... there is lock also...so it's not unjoined...ask associate at hitch installation how to make sure everything looks good...they will help with it

Does CRV need a license to tow a Uhaul trailer? Thanks
Bro, may i ask how did you connect the 4-way flat light connector to your car? Did they offer you the adaptar/Reciever?
@@TechFollower Thanks
if it’s full do you think it’s safe to drive across the country? I’m moving to Cali and I need reassurance that my CRV will be able to handle it

@@bebeslife4519 Those new variable trans in suv's are not up to hauling much, and they say the new EV's can't tow period !

So how was it? I’m moving to Cali too from Fl.
Did you get issues while filling gas
Not really... just find big gas station with open spaces to fill up...I usually take two pumps to fill up... nobody going to stop to fill up gas

Is it empty?

How long was the trip and how was the temperature of the engine while towing? Did you notice it overheating any?

How much weight can a 2004 honda crv tow??
I search on Google... it's around 1500 lbs
@@TechFollower Thanks, considering the trailer weighs around 600 lbs that would be towing a small riding mower.
ALL CRV'S regardless of year or trim can only tow 1500 lbs.
