    Such a great tutorial! And because you are explaining everything so well, I even figured out how to only play the animation if the gun is equipped (was not really hard to do but we all know that we first have to understand UE haha)

    hi Bud, I have been following some of your videos, everything is perfect, only until 6:09 when I try to get is aiming and link it to cast, it says directions is not compatible, please help, thanking you in advance!

    Thanks! This is awesome. It may also be a good idea to make sure the player can't aim while already jumping. I did this with a Branch check using the built in Can Jump function, only allowing the player to aim when Can Jump returns true (meaning they are not already jumping). Maybe there's a better way to do this but it seems to work.

    5:55 I don't have any of that event graph as default as I'm using Mixamo animations. I still tried to follow your instructions, but the animation isn't play when I aim in game

    This is super cool! I was experimenting with FInterp To for smooth FOV adjustment but couldn't get there, this filled in the gaps.

    I don't have "Get is Aiming"
    update: disable "context sensitive"
    update2: Error "Ue4 AS Character Object Reference is not compatible with Ue4 AS Character Object Reference"

      Same, only with "Character Object Reference is not compatible with BP Third Person Character Object Reference"
      Edit: Nevermind, I changed the Variable Character to BP Third Person Character and replaced the Cast to Character Node with a Cast to BP ThirdPersonCharacter Node, now it works

    How would you bind the Shoot action to only happen when the player presses Aim? So pressing Shoot when Aim is not activated will not do anything at all.

    Nice man, this is shaping up to be a cool game! I love this series!
    One question, how easy would it be tk make the aim button be left trigger and the fire button the right trigger on a controller?

      Thanks a lot bro! And that would be easy yep. You can go to "Edit>Project Settings>Input", and just edit the action mappings. So I have an action mapping for "Shoot" and one for "Aim". You can access these and change the input button to be left and right trigger on a controller.
      Hope that makes sense :)

    Hi Matt or anyone who can answer. I love your series, in this vidoe though you have a different anim BP than in others I followed. Is there a video where you set this anim BP up?
    I can't really follow along at the moment. Any help would be appreciated and thanks so much!

    I'm following your tutorial for a proyect I'm making and it's helping me a lot, wanted to ask, see if you can help, there are lots of animation packages in Mixamo that I want to use but I can't make them stay in place, when I use them they move forward or where they are told to go, Root Motion doesn't seem to work so I'm stuck downloading them one by one, thats it if I find all the animations I need

      There's a flag when you download the animation, it says "in place" , you want that to be active!

    Video idea: make character have a different power by changing them on caps lock or numbers on keyboard (1, 2, 3 ...) and use those powers to defeat enemies.
    For example: if character press fire power, the bullets blasted from pistol or any other gun will burn enemy and make them lose more damage.
